Kapiolani Regional Park shares the mystical shoreline with Waikiki Beach. And, it sits at the base of famous, iconic Diamond Head.

Stroll through the park (a part of the Lei of Parks), which stretches from the foot of Diamond Head across the well-known iconic landscapes along the southern regions on the Island of Oahu (which in Hawaiian means "gathering place") to Aloha Tower. Be amazed with the wide-ranging activities (including hula shows) on it's premises along with the stunning natural beauty of diverse trees, flowers and scenery, which make up this pathway.

You may also wish to plan a visit to the Kilohana Hula Show (which replaces the Kodak Hula Show of long ago) on Kapiolani Park premises (up towards Diamond Head and across from the Honolulu Zoo). Performances take place every Sunday through Thursday from 9:30 - 10:30 AM (adjacent to the Waikiki Shell). Come, kick off your morning with some local cultural entertainment with it's insights and fun.

A short walk away from the heart of Waikiki Beach and you will quickly shed the massive crowds and find yourself in the perfect area for a picnic before sunset. Parking is free and if you get their about an hour or more before sunset, you can snag a picnic table or a sunset/ocean facing bench. This park is perfect to stay in the mix but with some space to breathe and enjoy the beauty of Waikiki without the bumper-to-bumper folk you normally are surrounded by.

Other than loud music here and there , I love walking around the park from time to time. If you walk around the entire park 2-3 laps it will probably help you to achieve 6000+ steps depending on a route.
Overall the best place to hang out with families and friends

Large, beautiful park with reasonably good facilities throughout. Plenty of birds, including the noisy, but beautiful Rose Ringed Parakeets .

Walking around on a beautiful Sunday morning. Street parking is free near the banyan trees. Walking from fountain to international market place with my girls. Bring your bread to feed the cute quacking ducks. Sometimes we see craft fairs and races happening here too.

Great place to walk in the morning, doing a couple laps, getting the heart beat up and briskly walking around the block. Nice path to talk with friends/coworkers and just take a leisurely stroll. Lots of bathrooms along the way. Just make sure to move on the side for joggers along the way. Can be about 1.5 miles in a loop, but make as many loops as you want. Fun to walk and talk...check em out!

My favorite park in Honolulu, just a short walk from Waikiki Beach, and Barefoot Cafe - hands down my favorite food stop on the beach.

Maybe our biggest and most beloved open park, it's big enough for any sport lover. It used to be a horse race track back in the day and is now home to tennis, football, soccer, calisthenics, yoga, Tai chi, rugby, cricket and the newest craze, pickle ball! Across the park is the ocean and Public's surf break, In the park there is also the famous Kapiolani bandstand, where I once had my malo (loincloth) get blown off during a public hula performance.

I live in California and came here on June22,2023 and it was a very nice park that had a beach vibe where you can watch the ocean from the park. In California we have many beautiful 😻 beaches but nothing compares to what you will see. And I also got to see a lot of Hawaii culture here too. So when you here make sure you check out Kapi'olani Regional park take a beautiful stroll on their side walk near the ocean thank me later

Love this park for walking or running. It is mostly shaded which is awesome. The open space for soccer or having kids playing is perfect! I've also seen a group doing Zumba classes, it looks like so much fun!

Best public park anywhere! Always something to do here whether just biking around, using the outdoor gym, taking a yoga or tai chi class, playing sports, or watching the Waikiki sunsets.

Great family park! Oceanside has the beach, walking trails and stunning views. Mountain side has sports fields, the pavilion. Located at the end of Waikiki with amazing views of Diamond Head and the ocean.

It’s a very wide open & busy place. If you get the chance, learn the history. Kapiolani in Hawaiian means “The Arch of Heaven”.
There’s more history than the race track you read about on the signs in the park. Learn about the Waikiki Night Marchers Ghost Tour. It’s very real! I’m going to attach a video on my tour. It’s real…and I was told why I was one of the few that could see this. Heads up: There is another attendee on the back side of the trunk of the tree. If you’re knowledgeable of this….you’ll know what to look for & know what to ignore.

The beach was close to our hotel. We walked around the area and enjoyed the view and the beach. We also took a lot of pictures. A few days later, my family went surfing. It was so much fun watching them

Nice. A big park in Waikiki that has many attractions. The park is easy to get to and quite large! We were here for the Honolulu Marathon and they used the park as the finisher area. Outside of marathon race day the park includes many features like tennis courts picnic areas and more. I think my favorite thing was the convenient access to the aquarium, zoo, beach downtown.
