Great authentic Mexican food! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with the savory smells of delicious Mexican cuisine and fun decor. Smiling welcome faces operate this fun establishment. Every dish has been delicious and leaves you wanting another bite. Hard to find great Mexican food in central FL... This is a top contender.

The only negative is that we were charged an automatic tip for our table of 6. A lot of places do this so I’m still giving it 5 stars because the food was absolutely amazing, our waitress was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. Bonus points for the live Mariachi Band!

The portions were so big everyone took home half their meal. The food was very authentic tasting as well!

Had two great meals here on our vacation from Ireland and couldn't fault the food or the service. Food was better than some others nearby on the 192 with similarly high ratings. We shared a mix of tacos and a chicken quesadilla with rice and beans. Kids taco was great. Even the chicken nuggets for my picky youngest were good. Kids loved the complimentary chips and salsa and worth getting some guacamole. Excellent margaritas too 🍹. Well worth a visit. Service was great. Highly recommend.

Great Mexican restaurant. Worth the 35 minute drive from Poinciana. Very pleasant and decorated atmosphere, big menu, fresh food, fair prices, and absolutely tasty. Dropped to 4 stars due to lack of attention from wait staff. 2nd visit in the row and the waitresses pretty much abandon you and if you need refills or anything you will have to seek out help and wave them down. And it is NOT do to being too busy. Friendly yes, but they do not check in on you.

The service was amazing.
They brought the food so fast we even had enough time to finish the chips with tomatoes they brought at the beginning.

We had a very enjoyable experience. The atmosphere was extremely nice, and I loved the live music. Restaurant staff was friendly and helpful. Food came out extremely fast, was sizzling hot, and had good flavor. We felt it could have had some more seasoning, but it was still good. We would visit again.

I live a few blocks away and this will be my place for tacos, etc., from now on!
I liked the atmosphere as soon as we entered.
It’s well lit, colorful and clean and the smells from the kitchen, were the first things I noticed.
We were seated immediately and had chips and a salsa bowl EACH, nice!
Our server was quick and our food was out so fast and I enjoyed every bite.
Outstanding, my only regret is not visiting sooner, but my New Year’s resolution is to learn Spanish, so I’ll have plenty of time to try every dish!
I’m definitely returning, 5 stars!

Solid Mexican food with huge portions and fresh ingredients. Veggie quesadilla surprisingly full of good stuff

If Mexican food is your favorite then El Tapatio should be at the top of your must-go list. It was packed and I was with a group of about 7, but our food arrived quickly. I ordered the combo fajitas and it was delicious. The ceviche was also top-notch.

I’ve come to find a great amount of Mexican restaurants in my area are very high quality but this particular restaurant is absolutely perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing about my dining experience.We for the Sampler as the appetizer and it was so much we couldn’t finish it all between 3 guys. I then ordered the Chicken Fajita as my entree and it came out perfect. Still steaming hot on the cast iron. Our server Leo was a delight. I will definitely be retuning to this place next time I am in the mood for some top tier Mexican food.

I had the rock bowl with meats and shrimp, the taste was amazing, rice and beans so good too!!

We’re from Broward County….Great place, great staff, great food, great atmosphere. They sat our whole team outside on 2-24-23. Excellent job from management down to hosts, servers, porters and bartenders. Our second time here and definitely will go back when are back in town!!!

This place is great! Our family eat here every couple of weeks. Excellent food, outstanding service and good prices. Food comes out fast and the margaritas are delish. Today Reina took care of us and did a great job. Happy birthday Tapatio!

Second review after a year: as always excellent authentic Mexican food, we tried again the queso fundido and this time the steak encebollado, chilaquiles and tamales, as expected didn’t let us down.
Their pricing is pretty good compared to other restaurants, you won’t be disappointed, worth drive a little more.
Any time soon opening a restaurant in Salt Lake City, Utah?

Been from Mexico I can say this place is really good and has the authentic flavors, be patient as there’s a lot of people coming to eat here but you won’t be disappointed, I recommend the molcajete and queso fundido.

Great food and Excellent service! I tried the Carne Asada and it was delicious! Our waitress Monse mentioned there is Mariachi 2 Nights a week.

Our group of 15 visited El Tapitio for the first time. The service was great & attentive. I wanted to try something new so, I ordered the Alambre & I was pleasantly pleased with my selection. It was a wonderful combination of steak, chicken, chorizo. pork & ham with peppers, onions, & cheese. And it included rice & beans. The hotter salsa was a good upgrade as well..
