Bert's Bar & Grill

A little unassuming gray building on the side of the road. Inside is a long, narrow bar and restaurant with a fun atmosphere. Live music most every night, and several docks to pull your boat in to. Everything we ordered, the cheeseburger, reuben, onion rings, and the grouper tacos were delicious. So good I ate half my sandwich before I remembered to take a picture. Great service, good prices, yummy food. Even got to meet the owner on the way out and he helped us get out onto the road. Thanks Bert!

Amazing restaurant right at the sea with a wonderful view on the water.
It is a wonderful place to have an easy dinner with great fresh fish, good drinks and a relaxed atmosphere. We love to come there and can highly recommend it.

Super fun, excellent food, extremely reasonable prices. Was turned on to this place by a family member and will definitely be back with great anticipation. Gets my highest recommendation for decent seafood at reasonable prices. Oh, and as a bonus, the wait staff was super friendly and attentive.

Food was Incredible... We had the Buffalo Fried Shrimp (Key West Pinks) & the Calamari, which both were lightly battered before frying. The Calamari was So Tender & Both Were Yummy!!!

Bert's was a great location right on the water. Ordered the grilled jerk shrimp tacos and they were very good. Server Britney was very friendly and sweet.

Bert's was awesome! What a great dining experience. Bert's is an old Florida classic. You walk in the door and hear the bar patrons singing along to the musician playing classic rock and a guy with a kazoo. So laid back, fun and real.
It's low ceilings and tight walls are full of fishing relics, photos, and license plates.
We sat ourselves in the back room with an amazing water view. We didn't want to sit outside because I love the air conditioning.
Our waitress appeared immediately with a great attitude.
She brought our drinks quickly and took our order. We had fried cod and fried oysters. The cod was accompanied by their famous chips, cole slaw, and hush puppies. The cod was amazing. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. Didn't need or want the tartar sauce because it might mask the greatness. Hush puppies were exactly as hush puppies should be, crispy with the taste of corn meal. No hoity toity seasonings or fillings. The oysters were great.
Our waitress was there when we needed her with great service and a great sense of humor.
If you're looking for linen tablecloths and real silverware, this is not for you, but if you want outstanding food with waterfront dining in a working mans historical location, come to Bert's and have a blast!

Stopped for lunch, we shared the wings (extra crispy and medium) and the mushroom & swiss burger (no bun). It was really good! We loved the outdoor view in the back. We will definitely be back!

We were visiting some friends. The steel drummer took a liking to our daughter. The food and service were terrific with a great view. We will come back next time we visit the area.

Fast seat fast drink fast service friendly and checked on by staff! Delish fish tacos! And homemade chips! Just to much for me in the size portion! But it was a lovely snack later!

Definitely a place to visit..local "dive" that's a must see...great fresh TASTY food! Ashley was the best server...twice! Being on the water...ahhhh...beautiful!

Wonderful little place to enjoy lunch when out enjoying the sun of southwest Florida. Bert's beer, outside seating on the dock, listening to the steel drum, all make for a great experience.

Had dinner with my oldest son after a day at the beach. This place was down the street from the cute cottage we stayed at for two nights.

Very cool dive bar in Matlacha. Right on the water. Excellent food. Great island vibe.

The fresh-caught triple tail fish was excellent as was the wait staff. Great views of the water out on the deck under the umbrellas.

We got the Wednesday all you can eat deep fried shrimp for ~$16. It was served piping hot and was very good. We got a couple more baskets of shrimp until we couldn't eat any more. The accordion guy, Yard Dog Charlie, was very talented and played a variety of music. Fun!

Stopped in for a quick drink and appetizer after a day of shopping in Matlache. Casual atmosphere, live island music in the background.

Great spot for a beach dive bar. They play live outdoor music which is great on the back patio which overlooks the Gulf. Drinks are good and cheap and lunch has a good selection as well.
