As good as I hoped it would be! Breakfast sandwich was incredibly satisfying and the everything bialy was really good.

Eggnog doughnut was tasty, fun flavor.

Demi-baguette was the only real sourdough they had I could try and really like it, well made. I generally prefer baguettes to be made with baker's yeast, it's what I'm used to traditionally, but this sourdough version was great too.

Absolutely amazing donuts! The sourdough adds a unique mildly sour flavor that complement the other flavors. I’ve tried the donut with sprinkles, the caramel apple, the PB&J and the fig and pear danish. Each one was totally unique and a fun. If you love sourdough or making sourdough then you’ll wanna pay them a visit and pick up some starter.

AMAZING food, approachable and friendly staff, low-key location, I don’t know how I haven’t been here sooner. One of the best breakfast sandwiches in St. Louis is only the start: you’ll also be amazed by the sourdough pastries, sweet and savory. These kolaches though… holy smokes. Just look at the pictures. They’re as good as they look. Will be back often!

Love this place, there lamb sandwich (you can only get friday) is amazing. Along with there bread and pastries. Also got the meatball sub and the apple pie french toast for my lunch companion

Fantastic little neighborhood place. They have delicious breakfast sandwiches and baked goods, as well as an assortment of sandwiches and salads. All amazing and high quality. Service is great and friendly! This brioche, blackberry cream donut was amazing as well as this peach french toast!

Needed some bread to go with our homemade French Onion Soup and there was only one choice! Their sourdough baguette is to die for it’s that amazing! Our first time trying the donuts and we were blown away! Such an amazing place with incredible service! If you are down South Hampton or as we like to say, SoHa, way, stop in for bread, goodies, awesome Blueprint coffee or awesome breakfast sandwiches!

I am new to StL and I’ve been exploring. I did a fast u-turn when I saw your sign. A smart move on my part because your bread and counter server’s amazing personality is what will have me regularly return.

Maddy is a real customer service asset to your company. She was warm, informative, guiding and all-round welcoming to the store!

She suggested a bread type based on my input and she also suggested soup (potatoes-leek) which was fantastic. I couldn’t resist buying a bagel for later…. and later that night I was glad I did!

This place is so cute and has great vibes. We went to get a loaf of bread and ended up getting breakfast sandwiches were so good and very reasonable. I also love they have a standard service fee and don’t ask for a tip!

Having never baked bread I decided to give it a try and purchased some sourdough starter while picking up lunch, also excellent. Followed some directions they gave me on a sheet of paper and then watched a YouTube vid and now I'm baking my own bread.

This place was great overall. They have a simple yet elegant menu. The wait time was very reasonable. There is not very much seating, so I'm sure it could be difficult at busy times to get a table. The presentation was incredible even the fresh squeezed orange juice had a nice garnish, and tasted amazing! I had the Croque Madame and it was very tasty, huge portions, topped with an egg. The mustard was a great addition to this sandwich. I even tried the vanilla bean chocolate chip donut, which was also really really good. I would definitely recommend this place for a quaint getaway breakfast/lunch spot with a plus one or by yourself.

Super cute place. The person that checked us out informed us that their starter sourdough is 9 years old (fun fact I remembered). I think the pastries were pretty good. Had a seasonal pop tart and a peaches and cream doughnut. So good. I will be back for more specials.

Update: I've been back several times since my original review 4 years ago and had sandwiches, salads, and savory pastries. They've only made me love this place more!

Original review: Judging them as only a bakery, this place is phenomenal! They have some of the most unique donuts, pastries, and morning buns you'll find anywhere, and they're constantly coming up with new ones. Everything is freshly made and still warm in the mornings. The savory options are quite flavorful and will melt in your mouth. The sourdough base on the donuts is far from typical, but blends well with most of the flavors they come up with. Knead also serves soups, salads, and sandwiches, but I may never try them just because of how amazing the baked goods are. You Knead them in your life!

This sourdough is EXCELLENT. Tried the chocolate hazelnut and passion fruit donut and they are the best donuts I’ve ever had. I also tried the kolache and it was also amazing. Highly recommend! Best pastries I’ve had in STL for sure.

Service slaps. Food slaps. The people here are SO NICE. One of the women in the kitchen saw that I was a little teary eyed (family death that day) and walked over and gave me a cookie! It was seriously the most kind, human experience. I will continually support this business and give them business whenever I can. It was such a simple, kind gesture but made me a fan of Knead immediately.

Wow! The sourdough donuts here are phenomenal! Such a unique flavor! Amazing quality, delicious pastries! The custard is so luscious and decadent with a beautiful eggy flavor and flecks of vanilla bean. The poppyseed cake donut has well balanced flavors and great texture! So glad I got to try their sourdough donuts, absolutely amazing!

So so so good! I love bread and donuts and this place is like heaven to me. I'll definitely be back. I got the signature breakfast sandwich, chocolate donut, apple cider lemonade and cinnamon roll. All very delicious! Plus the staff were really welcoming and nice.

The sourdough bread at Knead has stolen my heart. And the demi banquettes ...there are no words to describe this perfection. I had the shaved Brussel Sprout salad recently. It will be my go to.

I just want to give the biggest shoutout to the Knead Bakehouse team and owners Kirsten and AJ.

Today my husband called in an order for two salads and a soup since our phones servers were being wonky and wouldn’t load the website. We had just shot a two-hour photo session in the cold, and I had competently forgotten that today was Saturday and Knead only serves breakfast items.

Well, Knead being the amazing people they are, still happily fulfilled our order and told me not to worry about it (once I got there and realized how absent-minded I was!).

The Knead team truly are the most kind (and talented!) sourdough Bakehouse team, and we are so lucky to have them in St. Louis! If this doesn’t show you how incredible their customer care and service is, I don’t know what will.

My husband and I are now warmed up with their incredible Autumn Bisque soup, and we really feel the love. We are customers for life.
