Sumela: Turkish and Mediterranean Restaurant

Super fresh, exceptionally fast service, really delicious. I'm searching for North Carolina's best gyros, and this takes top spot. The spanikopita is excellent, too. Portions are very generous!!

What a nice experience my friend and I had there last night. It was her birthday, and we've recently switched to a plant-based way of eating, so Sumela seemed like a good choice. We ordered an array of appetizers, and each one was delicious and had its own unique flavor, as it should. The decor was tasteful, with beautiful shots of their native country, Turkey, all around. The owner was hospitable enough to greet us at our table after awhile, and when he heard it was my friend's birthday, we received an extra-special presentation of "Happy Birthday" in Turkish, and delicious, in-house made Baklava. Truly a pleasurable and tasty experience--the highlight of our evening-- and we look forward to returning soon.

Came 2 weeks ago with a kid with severe Gluten and Dairy allergies, They offered him delicious food and he did not have any reactions and ate everything! Our food was amazing, the server was polite and the restaurant was clean. We loved the food so much we are driving from Charlotte for about 1.5 hours. The food and service is definitely worth it and can’t wait to eat there again today.

First time trying this place and the food speaks for itself! The lamb gyro was phenomenal! Very flavorful and not the least bit dry! I will definitely be coming back!

My first time coming here and it did not disappoint! The restaurant was clean, the employees were incredibly friendly, and the service was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious and came out piping hot and fresh. I thought, for the quality of the food, the prices were great! I highly recommend the chicken kabobs! It comes with a generous helping of rice and vegetables with a tremendous flavor. Excellent people and service!

We were riding around High Point looking for something unique and delicious to try. Well Sumela is definitely the place! I was impressed with the reviews and the food selection and then you top that with outstanding service you have the perfect dining experience! I will definitely return and I can't wait to try some other unique dishes here. You can't go wrong here. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. Great job Sumela!!

I found this wonderful restaurant with a Google search & wow! I was so impressed with their delicious vegan offerings. I had a great meal for a good price & excellent service! I will definitely come again next time I’m in town.

Mediterranean food is highly suggested as a great diet, especially to reduce inflammation. Sumela offers an extensive menu, with food that tastes phenomenal! I've never eaten inside, but the food is always hot and fresh. Surely is my #1 Mediterranean restaurant 😋

Excellent meal! The owner is from Turkey and his nephew one of the waiters was very friendly and helpful and has just come over in the last few months from Turkey. Had a great conversation. The food was outstanding! Would highly recommend the Turkish meat pie as an appetizer, then the Mediterranean salad, the piyaz white beans are delicious, and the sultan platter to get a sampling of the lamb skewer Adana kebab and gyro with lots of yummy side dishes... Tabbouleh hummus mixed vegetables. We live about 45 minutes away, but it was worth the drive!

This is the best experience we've had eating out in a while. The food was amazing and cooked perfectly. The prices were fair for the amount of food you get and how yummy it is. Our waitress was amazing as well!

First off, when you walk in the aroma of the plants is beautiful! In addition to a clean and calm atmosphere, the service providers are pleasant to engage with. From there, the menu has a variety of options. The lentil soup is off the chain! And the dishes are healthy and some plant-based. The yogurt drink is a delight when taken following the meal..I add a couple of Splenda but that’s my preference. Also, it’s just one of my top places to enjoy my food. Thank you everyone at Sumela for an affordable dining experience here in HP 🇹🇷

Had a great lunch here. Prices are very reasonable.
Wife had the Kofte Burger and I had the Durum Adana wrap, both with wonderful flavor.
Will be back!

Great food,great location, and a diverse menu. I tried the Mediterranean wrap with the piyaz(bean salad) and I’ll be back more often. Some of the best service I’ve had in High Point.

Sumela is phenomenal. Started with the hummus, got one of the combo platters and added a lamb skewer. I have been looking for an amazing Mediterranean restaurant for a while now and it looks like I've found it. The food was great, the service was amazing, and will be back for sure.

Went There for the very first time tonight. With a friend I had not seen in 20 yrs. I read several reviews on this restaurant, before going and was impressed by what I read. Those reviews did not lie. This place was amazing, the food was wonderful, well prepared, fresh, seasoned very well. The service was amazing and very friendly. It has a cozy and warm feeling atmosphere. I very highly recommend this place. My friend and had such a wonderful time. We ordered the appetizer sampler, the Sultan plate, the Sumela plate, Turkish coffee, and dessert. I wish I could give Sumela a higher rating because it deserves more then 5 stars. We will defiantly come back to Sumela. Thank you for such and wonderful dining experience.

They have the best red lentil soup I have ever had and they have very good and nice staff! If you are looking for good Mediterranean food you should come here. Overall I would say this place is a 10/10 great service and great food.😊
