Square One Brewery & Distillery

West Coast IPA was light, so more like a PA, but like an amazing Pale Ale. The soup, chicken dumpling. Crazy good. Good balance of flavor and texture. Love it! The scotch/egg thingy, which is a boiled egg wrapped in a brat and deep fried, is.....well, one of kind!

Our ladies' group meeting was a success, and we had a great lunch. The food was good but service slow. Our server was so professional and helpful.
The bathroom facilities were clean. The on street parking was good because we got there early. This area is very popular for dining.

The food was so delicious! The salad was everything and my friend said the shrimp and grits was so good! The server was amazing and the ambiance is beautiful! Go ahead and give them a try. The food and service is superb!

So much delicious 😋. I had the bacon brat smashburger with cheesy jalapeno grits with bread pudding for dessert. The burger was juicy and flavorful and the grits were perfect without too much heat. We shared 3 flights, all of the bourbons were amazing and each was very distinct. I very much enjoyed the Vermont night, I could imagine a cozy fall/winter night sitting beside a fireplace sipping this one. Just delightful. The absinthe was another standout for me, if you like absinthe or haven't tried it yet, but like black licorice this should be on your must try. And their brews, I just want to say they know what they're doing. The scotch ale was quite tasty( not a wee heavy) don't expect the the thikness, loved the irish stout, maple stout and this is a new one for me a double imperial barrel aged pilsner, wow! If you are in STL, give Square One a try, you won't be disappointed. Tip, you may need to make reservations.

It was a nice cool refreshing day and we wanted a place with good food and outside dining. We picked Square One as we had been there in the past and it is reliable and consistent in its food. We were pleased and tried items we had not had before such as the Scotch Egg and the Philly sandwich. We were happy with everything and enjoyed a nice evening out.

Love Square One! The restaurant always feels warm and welcoming, especially on a snowy Saint Louis night. We had the fish and chips, and it was perfect. The fish was tender and flaky on the inside with the perfect amount of crunch on the outside. The handcut fries were light and crispy. Service was awesome throughout the restaurant, and the beer & cocktails were the icing on the cake!

Great spot for happy hour or a dinner and some beer. They do have one of the best props in town if you can get in on a nice day. Located in the charming lafayette square near other fantastic restaurants and fun places to hang out. I hear they have a mean brunch too but have never been lucky enough to try it!

I am from out of town and came here with the family after walking around the botanical gardens. I was worried when they didn't have a ton of options that were made vegetarian, but I modified a salad and it was truly mind blowing. Rarely am I so impressed with a salad, but it wasn't just that. Everything we ordered tasted great. They were also able to seat six outdoors on short notice and the ambiance was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Square One Brewery’s brunch was very good this morning on 4/23. Loved the sausage gravy and biscuits. Would like to see an improvement on the coffee as it was weak/watery. The hostess and waitress went above and beyond to pet my dog and gave him a water bowl. The patio was beautiful and the heat lamp was on so it was lovely to sit outside on a cool sunny day. Customer service here is excellent I will definitely return.

Food was way more delicious than I expected, service was great. Will definitely be back again. I ordered the fish and chips and the batter was amazingly crunchy and light, the fish was tender and flaky. So so good

A wonderful brewpub. We enjoyed every bit of it. The beer pretzels were fantastic and we saw many others ordering it as well. There was a great selection of beers and cocktails as well. I highly recommend the Scotch Single Malt Ale.

The Reuben was good, although a tad more meat would make it even better.

My friend said this was his favorite brewery in St Louis. It did not disappoint. We stopped in for a quick bite and beer. Best chicken tenders ever. Beautiful little micro brewery. We will be back. Dog friendly outdoor sitting. Tvs to watch the game.

Lovely place in a relaxed neighborhood, so very different to the decaying down town area. Beer and spirits selection are good. The outside seating area is delightful. The food was awesome - maybe the best Shrimp and Grits I’ve ever had. My colleague with the fish and chips was also very satisfied.

Great neighborhood spot for a beer and some tasty appetizers (especially on the patio). Also, a special shoutout to the staff member who ran halfway down Park Ave to give my husband his credit card after he left it on the table. We appreciate you!

Yet another great place to eat in this area. Super menu, good service, very well prepared, and the decor and inner courtyard with fountain are marvelous. The portions were enormous! Yet the price is right in line.

Hellooo!! We visited from miami beach on a weekday afternoon.

Sat on the patio, good music and very nice atmosphere.

We had a light beer, a specialty drink, fried cauliflower, and a soup.

Everything was very nice. Specially our server christian. Thanks man!!!

Arrived around 11:30am just before the lunch rush. Excellent service. Great atmosphere and option of indoor and outdoor dining. Highly recommend this place. Fresh jalapeños on the nachos was a great touch instead of pickled jalapeños. Beer selection was fantastic. Didn’t get to try the spirits, saving that for another time.

I liked this place a lot. It's cute and very quaint. I had no idea they had a patio area but they did and it was nice to sit outside especially with Covid. Ordered the seafood omelet with potatoes and an English muffin. Everything was filling and flavorful. They didn't have bottomless mimosas because of Covid? At least that's what I was told. Nevertheless food was good, atmosphere was nice, I'll be back!

Visited Square One while in St Louis on business this week. Definitely a place everyone visiting St Louis needs to check out. Food is fantastic and their drinks are amazing. I had the smoke salmon club sandwich and it more than exceeded my expectations. Also had their own twist on a mule. They made it with own vodka and house-made pomegranate kombucha.
Staff was friendly and attentive as well.

The place has an amazing courtyard with heaters and fans depending on the weather. The cocktails and beers are phenomenal here and the food it's great as well! I highly recommend the steak frites (not traditional but delicious), the fish and chips the chicken wings and crab cakes. If you have not been here yet definitely check it out. I don't think you will be disappointed.
