I have 2 chiquaquas and 2 elderly dogs, I had just moved to Durham.
I had 30.00 for rabies shots,
Only enough for 3 vaccines.
And my bank card.
They only accept cash. The animal control officer paid for one of my dogs so I wouldn't have to go to the atm.
I came back with the money she loaned for helping me.
As an elderly woman I couldn't believe she would not accept the funds back.

They were all so kind, and helpful. Especially since I was on a fixed income!

God bless you all!

And thank you
Ever so much!!

We called early this Friday morning about getting a stray teenage cat to the Durham animal adoption center (it was sleeping/hanging out on our front mat) and they were on site within 30 minutes of our call. This gave us great peace of mind so this cat will be warm this weekend and then hopefully up.for adoption after they evaluate it. Great service, friendly animal handling. Thank you!

I called Animal Control because I had a neighbor who was clearly mistreating their dog. The personnel I dealt with were polite, efficient, and patient -- true professionals. The problem was resolved in less than 24 hours. Thank you!

Very good customer service. I was seen properly for my pet's appointment. Staff was very compliant in following protocols and procedures for safety during Covid-19. Very pleased with my visit.

Garbage place. I have dealt with them on numerous occasions now and they are absolutely terrible people. They refuse to care about any animal you call about. They refuse to come pick up an animal. They will quite literally come up with excuses for them to not have to leave the office. Terrible place. Highly recommend going ANYWHERE else if you can

Durham County animal control has been functionally useless during the pandemic. They will not come out for either regular calls (dog at large) or emergency calls (dying stray kitten), or even contact other organizations for assistance. I understand that they have to keep themselves safe, but they shouldn't pretend to be operating normally when they won't provide service. There is nothing on the Durham County website that suggests that this department will not provide the services that our tax money pays for them to provide.

Citizens are left feeling more helpless than before and have no recourse.

Called them today for an injured kitten that showed up on my mom's front porch and they said they don't do cat traps. So what is the purpose of calling animal control if they don't want to do their job.
