Not an exaggeration, this place has the best burger I've had in the Triad. Hands down. Not even close. Big Nick is the way to go here. The crinkle cut fries with season salt are perfectly crisp and delicious. Line out the door at 1145am if that tells you anything. If this isn't on your list of places to try, it should be.

My husband and I have been wanting to try Nick's for quite some time and finally got the opportunity yesterday. We were prepared for long lines but was pleasantly surprised that it was not too crazy busy about 1:20 p.m. It was President's Day so maybe we got lucky.
There was plenty of parking available and easy access off the main road. Walking inside the place was a little small BUT that is what I would expect from a small town business. They had about about a dozen tables to sit at but they were all filled. Luckily it was a beautiful day out and they had plenty of seating outside under a shade structure with a fan.
We decided to go with the classics, I got a cheeseburger with Bacon, lettuce, tomato and their 1000 island dressing, hubby ordered a double cheeseburger with ketchup, bacon, lettuce and tomato. We both got their seasoned crinkle fries and we were excited to see they had a large selection of bottled sodas. He chose peach soda and I got an RC cola. They were ice cold! 🥶 The cashier was very welcoming.
We waited outside for our number to be called, they have an intercom system so it was nice to not have to stand inside where it was a bit crowded and stuffy. It did take awhile but the food is cook to order so we knew ahead of time to bring our patience.
Although my burger was missing the tomato, we were not disappointed! The food was amazing and lived up to the hype. It was packed full of flavor and not overly greasy which I love. The cheese was perfectly melted and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The seasoned fries were crispy and loved the seasoning.
Back in 2010, we went to NYC on vacation and tried a popular burger joint called Shake Shack in Madison Square Park. It was the best burger and fries my husband (who's name is Nick) has ever had. Until now. He gave Nick's the highest praise by saying he finally found a place that was just as good! 🍔 🤤 We will definitely be back.

Very nice place to go to expect to wait in line during lunch hours and stuff. The burgers are very very good. I just wish they added seasoning but still don’t take it with a very good burger

The young lady at the register was really nice. We ordered the pimto honey chicken, a double burger, and nick Mac burger. All was really good. We got chili cheese fries. I didn’t like the chili too much, but the cheese was good.

Monday lunch here was FANTASTIC! No joke... one of the best cheeseburgers I have ever had!! Staff was great. Indoor and outdoor seating. Crinkle cut fries were a perfect side selection. Definitely worth the visit.

They do get very busy... we lucked out and got there right after they opened so we got our food reasonably fast. 20 minutes later there was a line out the door.

Read an article a day before embarking on my bi-monthly trip from SC back to Ohio. Figured 28-minutes extra added to my 10 hour trip would be worth it to eat the best burger in NC. Nick's did not disappoint. I had the double with cheese plain, as I wanted to assess the quality without any peripheral flavors bunting what I came to check out. While not the best I've ever had, it's definitely the best I've had in a while and the best I've had in NC. I also had the pork chop sandwich with cheese, and a regular order of fries. Comparable to a deep fried tenderloin sandwich, the pork chop sandwich was eaten last, and was still crispy after being wrapped for 20+ minutes. Impressive flavor and crunch. Both sandwiches paired lovely with the fries, which I had seasoned. The fries were cooked perfectly crispy on the outside, and didn't have any weird greasy after taste like fast food places we all know. I will frequently add this 28 minute detour to my 10 hour, 602 mile bimonthly trip.

Amazing, absolutely amazing, we arrived right before noon and as expected there was a little wait to order, nothing awful, a group was leaving, so we grabbed their table, waited a little bit, but it was worth every second, definitely worth the drive from Greensboro. We'll be back for sure, I got the Pimento Burger, so delicious, side of ranch for the fries was on point and my mom and son both loved their burgers too. I read a review about the music and to that person I say, shut up 🤣 it wasn't too loud that we couldn't hear each other and between my mom and I there was music we both enjoyed. Staff was friendly and it was all around a great experience.

First time there today with my sister and the food was delicious!! I had read an article about it on my Newsbreak App that it won "Best burgers in NC!" So I had to check it out being only a half hour away from me and I was not disappointed! There was a line of nice people waiting to order and it went quickly so I knew it was gonna be good, which it definitely was! The atmosphere was great! Will definitely be coming back! 👍

Delicious done right scratch made burgers. Had a burger with raw onions, ketchup, and mustard. Husband had the double pimento and added bacon. The new girl that rang us up didn’t get it right but she is new, very kind, and they immediately popped on another so the wait wasn’t long. Loved the chips. Husband got the crinkle fries and they were good too! Would def come back and also recommend to others. Can’t wait to try the mushroom and Swiss burger next time!!They tell you wait before you order which is a smart move! Waited 35m. We ate outside. Prices were good too!

We came in for a simple dinner, left as lifetime customers. The manager on duty was super attentive to an issue with one of our entrees ordered. He more than made up for it. The entire staff was amazing, and the food was tremendous!

I’m a big believer in fresh and never frozen burgers and this place didn’t disappoint. Everything was hot and fresh. The customer service was great and the food is just good. I should have ordered the double burger but my single was good enough. If you like fresh and hot food. Stop by. 👍🏾

Great old-fashioned burgers. I had the "Noah". My life partner and gorgeous goddess had the classic burger. Onion rings were on point, and the french fries were very crispy. All washed down with a couple of RC Colas. Inside was a cute little strip mall style burger joint. I could tell by the local ads and coupons of various businesses inside that this place was strong in the community. The tables were cleaned, not just wiped down. This goes a long way with me especially when I will be licking the burger grease and cheese off my little piggy fingers.

After moving to lexington 6 months ago, I finally got to try this place out. Hands down one of the best burgers I've ever had. Highly recommend this place to anyone that lives here or that's passing through. A+

They are usually extremely busy so expect a little wait. But I promise it's worth it.

We read about Nick's Old Fashion Hamburger House in a newsletter called Only in NC. We decided to try it on our way home from vacation. What a great way to end our trip! It was small, crowded (sign the food is good), and worth the effort to get there. We got 4 different hamburgers and each one was fabulous. It would be hard to say which was best.

Very rarely does a place live up to the hype. But if you've had a better burger than this place then you live in the Burger Hall of Fame somewhere. This place is small. There is more space outside than inside. It takes a while to get your food because they prepare everything as you order it. We got there early for the lunch rush there was still a line and it took a good 15 minutes to get our food. It was totally worth it. I got their version of the Big Mac and it was glorious in all aspects. The meat was amazing. Piping hot and so flavorful. The bun was good the toppings were fantastic. My only complaint were the hot chips were not really hot. The lady taking the order at the register was fantastic. My first time but it won't be my last time. I have never had a burger any better. My dining partners got the onion rings. They gave me one. It was excellent. Their thousand island dressing and onion rings sauce were top notch. They put your order number on your drink cup (BRILLIANT) and you can hear the numbers called from outside tables.

I was pleasantly surprised at the efficient service on a busy evening. Our dinner was delicious. We order a few regular burgers, hot chips and onion rings. The onion rings are very crunchy which I like. The chips were great with homemade ranch. The burgers were a great size and very good. Great local spot for burgers!

We live about 40 minutes away.. had been wanted to try this place out for a while and it did not disappoint. We waited about 24 minutes (less time then we were told) because they we slammed but you can tell they know how to run their kitchen! Great teamwork. Friendly staff and good eats! I highly recommend! Definitely like an old fashioned burger joint. Pictured are the patty melt, Noah burger.. the petal sauce was delish! We will be back!

The food and service there are excellent. They just do not have enough sitting room. They need a bigger building. Love the music too and the staff are always super friendly. Love this place. We live in Trinity and we will definitely be going back.

Fresh, local, and amazing food! Outstanding service from a very friendly staff and the price is less than a fast food restaurant. Christian ✝ atmosphere and great music as well. It's actually shocking to find a place this amazing nowadays.
