If you own a MB these are your people. First time using them and it was, well, flawless. Here are my thoughts and observations
1. Knowledgeable, friendly and they LIKE these cars ALOT.
2. Emailed me multiple times per day to keep me abreast of anything they saw that might warrant a conversation.
3. Fair. My first time away from the retail dealer even though I am at 80K miles. The cost of everything done was way below what I expected.
4. Timely. Did everything and then some in less time than promised, always answered the phone and were there even though I showed up prior to them being open.
A great experience, truly!

The worst thing about owning a Mercedes is you have to choose between being ripped off by the dealership or take your chances with a mechanic and hope for the best. These guy’s solved this problem for me. Good people, great service yet very affordable.

10/15/2020: I am still using The Foreign Service to keep my SL class mercedes on top. From Owner David, Bruce at the front line, and all of the great techs, I have nothing but great things to say. Quality service AND quality people. They care about the care of your vehicle and do not treat you or your vehicle as just another number.

Update (4/2018): I am still using the Foreign Service. They are still great and keeping my car serviced and on the road. I have spent tons of money at the dealership, and at other places that claim to be Mercedes certified service centers. Believe me, no one, and I mean NO ONE, shows the care, concern, professionalism, and stellar service that you will receive at this shop. Trust me, you will be doing yourself and your Mercedes a service by going to the Foreign Service for all your Mercedes Automotive needs!

I can't say enough good things about this place. If you are looking for a place that is serious about keeping your Mercedes-Benz well-maintained then you have come to the right place. The guys here really show that they care about their customers as well as the Mercedes-Benz brand. I have found my new place for servicing my SL.

I was referred by other happy customers and although there are closer options I made the correct choice. They have great knowledge and support of my 2009 Mercedes E350. They are professional, communicate thoroughly and there are no shenanigans. If you enjoy your older Mercedes and need a trusted specialist this is the place. Fleet of loaner cars keep you moving and allow them to do the job right.

Craig and the team over at The Foreign Service are excellent! I have a 22 year old Mercedes SL, and while I absolutely love the car, it developed some issues with the ADS suspension. The system is complex to say the least. Prior to my visit, I took the car to Mercedes and their diagnosis was just to throw expensive parts at it to see if it would solve the issue. They were wanting thousands of dollars with no real guarantee that the problem would be solved. I called the foreign service and Craig was able to get me an appointment quickly. I dropped the car off and just a few days later, all the issues were completely solved at a fantastic price. They used laptops and Mercedes software to diagnose and fix the issue directly. The car now performs flawlessly and I can get back to enjoying it. If you own a Mercedes, specifically one older than 15 years, it really is one of the best places to visit and get your problem solved.

This was my first time using this business and I am so thankful I found them; they performed service on my Mercedes-Benz ML350. They were knowledgeable, professional, friendly, honest and did not over charge. My car's performance was great after I picked it up and they washed and vacuumed my car. They offer loaner cars with no problems. This place is the best for your Mercedes Benz people.

In all my 40 years of owning cars, I don’t think I have ever had great service like I recently experienced at The Foreign Service. It started with my initial arrival. Courteous, professional, funny, welcoming, and, most importantly, very very knowledgeable. This place exudes professionalism and deep topical knowledge. It also doesn’t hurt you get a fantastic loaner car while they’re working on your prized Mercedes. In my six decades of living, I can probably count on one hand how many times I’ve come across something I label a gem. This is one of those gems hidden somewhere in Raleigh that I wish not many people knew about. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t recognize the outstanding service this place provides. I cannot recommend them enough. Be forewarned, however, that because the foreign service has so many loyal return customers, you may have to wait a few weeks before you’re seen. Yes, they are **that** good. While many Mercedes dealers across the country provide excellent service, none of them can hold a candle to this place. It’s an adage you can take a Mercedes to 300,000 miles and beyond. Continuing to have my car serviced at The Foreign Service over its lifetime, I’m confident this will be true. It also means I can’t move too far away from Raleigh as long as I’m a Mercedes driver :)

I took my GLK350 here for a second opinion after taking it to the MB dealership in Durham, and I am so happy I found this independent shop, as they were able to holistically diagnose my car. They also gave me a loaner, which was helpful on a workday. The specialists are very personable and took the time to advise me on my situation. I would highly recommend to always get a second (or more) look for repairs! The Foreign Service gets the job done well.

I was referred by a friend to consider getting my car serviced here. I had an excellent experience. Not only did I receive amazing customer service, they did an excellent job with the quality of the work performed. I’ve owned by Mercedes for several years now. I walked away knowing more about my vehicle, making me a more informed consumer for the future. Thank you Bruce and team! I look forward to coming back for my future needs. Foreign service has been our Mercedes service place for 30+ years! We trust them to take care of our cars! They are honest and fairly priced.
David is always up front, we brought our car before we purchased it just to be sure they could tell us it was a good car to buy!

Very impressed with the outstanding MB car service I received at Foreign Services. They were professional, knowledgeable and good at their craft. Bruce was a pleasure to deal with. He provided prompt scheduling and kept the communication lines open until the completion of my service. They provided a loaner while my car was being serviced.. and did an incredible detail wash before the delivery of my vehicle..

The team at foreign service came highly recommended from another shop that I’ve used for my vintage Porsche. The guys worked me in and did a great job repairing the air conditioning system on my Mercedes. They delivered on budget and on time. They also clean the car up before they delivered it to me which was a nice touch. I will only be using foreign service for the Mercedes.

I have brought both of my Mercedes here and received outstanding service at a very reasonable price. Cars are running great!

Foreign Service repair is a certified Mercedes repair shop. The only way to find this wonderful place is word of mouth- and the word I got was from a Mercedes dealership employee. What could have cost thousands to repair at a dishonest dealership , cost less than $400. Bruce and coworkers love their customers and love what they do. Ladies, you can trust Foreign Service repair. Never use Leith or their dealership in Cary. Make the drive to Durham Mercedes if your car is under a new car warranty. Bruce provided a well-maintained older Mercedes to
Drive while my vehicle was in for repairs. A fun drive for someone that owned a few Mercedes over my lifetime Fast, exceptionally friendly, fair prices, honest mechanics sums up this place. I am so happy to share this well-deserved 5 star rating.

Bruce and the team always take great care of my R129 600. I've tried many shops over the years and "Boy am I glad I found them!" I always feel extremely confident with their honesty. The work they perform is first rate and the many years of experience is evident from the end result. I find the pricing to be a value for the knowledge and care they put into my vehicle. You can tell they love what they do and are passionate about Mercedes Benz. It is exactly people like the crew at The Foreign Service that you want working on your vehicle. If it's your main transportation, a second car, a weekend cruiser or a project - The Foreign Service is where you need to go for your needs. - (Getting to drive one of the loaners is pretty fun too!)

I was in the market for a good used car. Part of my decision to buy a Mercedes Benz was due in part to the great service that my wife receives on her Mercedes by the Foreign Service. These guys are thorough and offer great prices compared to dealerships. They take the time to listen to your concerns about your car and follow through accordingly. Sure, you don't get a foot massage and a latte like you would at a dealership, but you drive away knowing that your car has the best possible service that it can receive. These guys are great!

Update (6/23/2021). Yet another visit and another positive experience. Service continues to be excellent. As I mentioned last year, more expensive service is coming up. Excellent conversations about what should be done, pros/cons of waiting, etc... Never pushy. The Foreign Service will continue to get my business.

Update (6/7/2020). I continue to go back to the Foreign Service. Service continues to be excellent. As my car is approaching 70k miles some more expensive maintenance is coming up. No pushiness, no saying it has to be done ASAP. Just a good conversation about what needs to happen, by when, and how much. I will continue to use The Foreign Service for maintenance on my car.

Update to this review (8/2/2019). Went back for a 2nd time, regular maintenance. Same great service. Car was done early, no surprises on the amount or mysterious work. What I definitely appreciated was our conversation about upcoming milestones (based on the cars mileage), why I would want to do them, cost, etc... No urgency presented, just data. Great for planning purposes. So 2 for 2 and I will definitely use The Foreign Service again.

Only been in Wake County for about 7 months. I have a 2013 MB C300 that needed to have its B service completed. Did some research online and there were a ton of positive comments about the Foreign Service so I decided to give it a try. Getting an appointment was very easy as well as a loaner car. Talked with Bruce upon my arrival. Had a fun conversation with him. Picked up my car about 8 hours later (it was ready in about 6), there isn't a waiting area. Car was cleaned, all the service was completed as described, provided a checklist of everything that was done/checked. The cost was cheaper than original quote (which was a lot less than the dealer) because when the checked the filters one of them didn't need to be changed. Had the car back for one day and everything is A-OK. I will definitely schedule my next service with them and if anything goes wrong before then, they will be the first to get the call. It is a little hike from my house (about 20 miles) but after one visit it was well worth it.

I have taken my Mercedes ( 4 of them ) to The Foreign Service for over 20 years. David and his team are the best at helping me keep my cars in great condition. This business is totally honest and trustworthy. They are fair in pricing. I highly recommend The Foreign Service!

I had an issue with my transmission shifting properly on an ML 350. Had my vehicle towed to The Foreign Service. They started immediately to diagnose the problem, ordered the part the next day and had everything completed and the vehicle returned to me two days later. Amazing work based on the complexity of the problem. I would highly recommend them for any MB service.

Our family has used The Foreign Service for years. They take great care of their customers, like offering free rides to the airport if you’re getting your car serviced while your out of town, or complimentary fluid top offs if you’ve dropped your car off for an unrelated service. They’re honest about what your car actually needs (no price gouging for unnecessary services). Excellent quality service from trustworthy employees.
