Being a late 20-something in the US of A means that I’ve only spent my adult life renting the place I live. I’ve lived with at least five management companies/private landlords, and there is always some sort of issue. The landlord has ridiculous rules about what color curtains you can hang, or they don’t want you lighting candles, or they charge you extra rent for your pet, or it takes them two weeks to respond to an urgent maintenance request. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect your landlord to provide you with a safe home with necessary amenities (running water, functional refrigerator, mold prevention/treatment, etc). Not only is that reasonable, but it’s also legally required. I’ve had issues with landlords in the past ignoring important issues or shrugging off their duties to their tenants, and the tenant is simply at the mercy of the landlord because if they don’t want to be evicted or have their deposit withheld, they simply bite their tongue. With Simpson there have been none of these issues. From the beginning, the lease is simple, straightforward, and reasonable. The staff is small and you are immediately on a first name basis. Responses to maintenance requests are nearly immediate, and prioritized based on importance. I called about a dysfunctional refrigerator this morning and they had a new one installed only hours later. They are kind, down-to-earth, and understand that the tenant isn’t just paying for a place to live, but also the insurance that necessary problems will be promptly addressed. Five stars. My husband and I will likely continue to rent with Simpson Properties as long as we live in Charlotte.

Fantastic! I was a tenant for almost three years and never had an issue with my place at Oakland Ave in Elizabeth. I always received a timely response if I needed anything (which was rare) and communication was great. My heat went out in the middle of the winter one year and they had someone out to look at it almost immediately. When a part wasn’t available for a few days to fix it, Mr. Simpson ensured that space heaters were dropped off on my porch so I could keep the place warm. I hate that I had to relocate for work because I truly enjoyed my time at Oakland Ave - awesome location, awesome apartment, very affordable, and made some great friends while living in the neighborhood. My move out was so simple and they took a lot of stress off of me at that time. Thanks Mr. Simpson!

We rented from the Simpson's for almost 2 years and had 'a great experience. Tom was a great landlord, always pretty easy to reach and always quick to respond with anything we needed. He also never raised our rent and returned our security deposit in full, which was a huge plus. Our AC went out right before we moved, and it was fixed within a day. They're a small, family-owned company, and after living in larger apartment buildings, they were a joy to rent from. Would highly recommend.

Simpson Properties is a family owned Property Management company in Charlotte NC, and sets a high bar for both commercial and private property managers everywhere. Claire, Alex, Tom and his wife made my Fiancé and I’s first experience living together a memorable one. From day one, they addressed every single issue that we had with urgency. Every item on our move in checklist was fixed or replaced within days. This sense of urgency continued through the duration of our year and a half stay. The Simpsons made my family feel valued and prioritized our needs every step of the way. Our new home purchase is the only reason we left, but will never forget our very first home together thanks to the Simpsons family!

I highly recommend renting from Simpson Properties! It was an easy process to find a rental with them, they communicate fast and efficiently, and if I ever needed anything they were quick to help. I have lived with Simpson Properties for eight years and I have had a great experience with them. They kept to their word, fixed what needed fixing and didn't treat me like a stranger. They were always willing to work with me when "life happened". They were also not unreasonable (as some other companies can be) when I moved out and I received my full security deposit back after EIGHT years! Most companies are quick to keep security deposits even after one year for everyday wear and tear. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an apartment and a landlord that is fair.

Have lived at one of their rental properties for almost 9 years now. They have always been prompt in taking care of my maintenance requests and unlike some other landlords in this area have not jacked up my rent to a price where I can't afford it and would have to move out. Very happy here and hope to stay for a long time.

We don't live in a fancy apartment, but the rent is affordable. The regular maintenance folks Tom employs (especially Brian!) are friendly and trustworthy, and they have almost always shown up when scheduled. Tom has also worked with us when we got a little behind on rent because of some crappy circumstances. I have no complaints.

I rented from Tom and team for 3 years and had nothing but a great experience. They were kind and flexible and made sure that all maintenance requests were fixed immediately. I would recommend Simpson Properties to all of my family and friends. :)

I was a tenant for a year and I have nothing but positive things to say about this company! From day one, it was obvious that they cared about me as a person and not just a tenant. Over the year I lived here I only had 2 maintenance calls! The apartments are maintained very well which I appreciate! The rent was very affordable and they have different homes in excellent parts of town. I highly recommend this company!
