We have been renting waterfront vacation houses from Beth and Tommy Story since 1998. Nothing but the best. They are top notch all the way. We fell in love with Beth and Tommy immediately. We liked dealing with them so much we bought property from them. Don't have a house there yet, (ugh), maybe one day. They have pet friendly properties also. If there are any problems they are handled immediately. Once the refrigerator went out on our second day, (no one's fault, just a freak thing). I called Beth and a new one was delivered by the end of that day. My wife and I highly recommend Story Properties, couldn't imagine using anyone else. They are very professional, courteous, and stand behind their business. Sandy, who works with them is also a true gem. When you call them and discuss what you are looking for they will match your needs to the perfect house, they do not try to sell you anything extra. They will also do their best to match the perfect vacation house to your budget. We love them all and consider everyone there our personal friends. You can't go wrong with Story Properties!!!!!!!!!

We stayed at Players Retreat (Sandy Trace Drive Unit 27) at Lake Gaston. A 3-story condo (basement, first and second floors) with a room with a king/bath, room with 2 twins and a bath, room with a queen/bath and a large room in basement with king adjacent to play room with 2 bunks/twin and a double for each with trundles and a full bath. Washer dryer, dishwasher. Balcony first and second floors. Fully furnished with all the kitchen amenities you would ever need. Never stayed in a rental before that met all my expectations - except this one! Would stay there again. Story Properties was wonderful in handling the rental for us. Always available by phone. Adjacent to the Wildlife boat ramp for ease of putting in boat. Boat dock for the condos with a man-made beach. The grandchildren (and adults) had a blast. Would definitely use Story Properties again!

Our family rented a property at Lake Gaston, managed by Story Properties this past week. There were a few issues to begin with, but Beth Story rose to the occasion. She went above and beyond and turned a negative into a positive. She was respectful, professional, cooperative and provided what was needed. She was accessible, communicative, and responsive. She was truly a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend renting from Story Properties.

We just rented a vacation home on Lake GASTON from Story Properties. Beth was super easy to work with and made sure our stay went off with out a hitch. She even checked in with us during the vacation to make everything was okay. Our

Beth and Sandy are amazing. Called last minute and they found my family a place for a short Memorial Day trip. Absolutely beautiful house. Beth and her team made sure my family and I were taken care of and even provided her cell phone number in case we needed anything. Beth and Sandy are super. This was our first Lake Gaston rental. They worked hard to find a property that would take care of us - 7 adults and our 5 grandchildren. The pool and lake were the highlights of the trip as well as the boat/wakeboarding.
We liked it so much we are buying a home there and anticipate that Beth will handle the rental.

We rented 516 O’R Escape this past week and it was FABULOUS! The view & location on the lake can’t be beat. This is the first year we did a lake family vacation instead of a beach family vacation and everyone voted for Lake Gaston again next year. No one wanted to leave.....even the dogs seemed sad to go. Beth & Sandy at Story Properties we’re fantastic to work with and went the extra mile. I highly recommend working with them if you’re wanting or considering a vacation at Lake Gaston.

Beth and her team are amazing. Our camping reservations were cancelled because of high water at Kerr Lake. We were about ready to give up on our family vacation until I talked to Beth. She calmed me down first and then work to find us a house on Lake Gaston at the last minute. I just can't say enough how wonderful this rental place took care of me and my family. They are amazing and I would give them 100 stars if I could.

We have been renting vacation homes for more than 20+ years at the mountains and beach. This was our first time at Lake Gaston. This was by far one of the best companies I have worked with. Very professional and truly worked for our best interest. Very friendly and dependable. We will definitely rent again through Story Properties. We had a issue with the shower and they had if fixed within hours. One of the best vacations ever!!!!!

What can I say about Beth Story? She is AMAZING! When our spring break vacation to Mexico was cancelled, we chose a lake house at Gaston. The day before we were to arrive was met with a disappointing call from Beth that jeopardized our trip and tremendous disappointment. BUT, Beth went to work, going above and beyond to save our family vacation and got us in the house where we had an amazing time. She called my wife numerous times a day to keep us informed about the progress. Thank you Beth!!

We loved our stay at the Happy Hollow #502 July 2018! The team at Story Properties are wonderful, very accommodating! We’ve rented vacation homes at Lake Gaston thru Story Properties every year since 1999 and are very happy repeat customers.

They’ve been great about helping us find homes that meet our needs (lots of bedrooms, boat slip with lift), sometimes on short notice.

On the rare occasions when something has gone wrong with a house (AC issue at one house, problem with the boat lift another year), Beth got the problems addressed immediately. She was super focused on minimizing our inconvenience.

They’ve always been courteous, responsive and professional.

Regarding the negative reviews from people who didn’t find particular houses available. Yes, the houses are owned by private owners who use them for their own vacations, and sometimes the owners can change their minds about which weeks they want to rent out their houses. So communication does have to happen before a rental agreement gets signed. But this communication can also work the other way. One year, we made our plans later than usual. The house we wanted wasn’t listed as available, but Story Propties talked to the owners and got them to agree to make it available.

Beth and Sandy are great to work with, and they will do all they can to help you have a great vacation.

I have been dealing with the staff at Story Realty for over 12 years. My family rents several houses each summer and I couldn’t imagine doing it with anyone else. They are all extremely helpful with finding the right places and everything is always ready on our arrival day just as expected.
