The food was good and very large portions. We had a birthday celebration and they got the whole restaurant to sing which was a extra bonus. The chef was entertaining and social . It's a very busy place especially in the summer months so definitely make a reservation. Everything was cooked perfectly and not one of our group of seven left disappointed. For hibachi it's a great place to go.

Food was awesome. The chef was fantastic. Met some new friends. Great way to celebrate a 27 year anniversary.

Had a wonderful experience celebrating my son’s 3rd birthday. We showed up with an extra guest 12 instead of the 11 originally booked. All the staff was friendly. Ethan took great care of us, never ran out of anything. The food was great and so was the show. Filet and scallops melt in your mouth. Highly recommend this place.

I have not eaten Japanese food in a few years. Big mistake. My cousin, myself and my boss met up here at Broadway at the Beach to try out Yamato Japanese Steakhouse and it was one of the best Asian food related decisions that I have made in a long time, lol. Even though it looked like it would be a long wait for us (because there were a lot of people in the waiting area), we were seated before we could finish up our drinks that we had just ordered from the bar. This was less than a ten minute wait. The drinks were fantastic, the once strangers that dined alongside us at the table seemed like friends we had known forever within minutes. The chef was humorous and very talented with his cooking skills, giving you a show that you will never forget. He served each and every one of us, one by one to our specific order with spot on accuracy. Above and beyond generous portions. I had the filet, shrimp and scallops. Will be back soon, p.s. prices are not ridiculously expensive either. Enjoy!

I was visiting Myrtle Beach from San Jose. My brother and I had Sashimi dinner, the service, food, and atmosphere should be rated 5 Star+. We liked it so much so we went back next day happy hour, everything is great. Highly recommended!

Came in from out of town and was in the mood for fried rice. There was a small 5min wait but nothing a drink at the bar doesn't fix. We were seated promptly with four other couples and an infant. Servers took orders pretty fast and while waiting for the chef we got our soup and salads. The chef was talented, funny, and cooked great food. No complaints from anyone at the table and one lady even couldn't get enough of the yum yum sauce - he had to refill her saucer 5-6 times! Moderation folks.

TLDR: Good hibachi place. Go if you want hibachi.

First time here. Group of 12 for friend's son's birthday. Great food & drinks. Rob was a wonderful server. Chef was great and entertaining. Fun atmosphere. We'll be back.

Hiro, our chef, was entertaining. There was a LOT of food! I prefer the yum yum sauce at our hibachi back home in MD but this place serves sherbet at the end so that's a big plus!

I've tried almost every sushi place in Myrtle Beach, but this place wins hands down. It's primarily a hibachi restaurant so the fact that the sushi is also so incredible I think says a lot. Everything came out quick and very fresh, it was all so good we got an extra roll after we were done! The restaurant itself is a little small inside, and for being the off season it was still very busy. Definitely make a reservation or be okay with waiting a bit (sushi bar is first come first served/seat yourself).

This place is awesome!! The food is great and so is the service. They seat you with other groups of people at one large table and a chef comes and cooks your food in front of you. Our cook was hilarious and made it really fun. The portions are HUGE! The sushi is also good. Great hibachi restaurant try if you're in Myrtle Beach.

These Japanese Hibachi places never disappoint! Food is a perfect 5/5, customer service is 4.5/5 and atmosphere 3.9/5. I would recommend this place to eat. Idk how Myrtle Beach continues to have such good food! 👏🏾

Server was smiley, friendly and easily the best server I have had in 2 years. Typical hibachi experience. Entertaining, yummy, fun and way more food than we could eat. Always love getting 2 meals for the price of one. Con #1--Seating should be 1 less, to give more comfortable room. Con #2--Food a bit bland for my liking, but the sauces more than make up for it. *will return for sure!!

Some of my favorite conversations are with children, but we were seated with a couple of unhappy ones. But they were on the far side of the table so it wasn't too bad.

Yamato is by far the champion when it comes to Sushi.

The staff is top notch. The atmosphere is fantastic.

I have been dining with these fine people for many years. The quality of food and service has been consistent. Never disappointed.

The whole family loved this place! The food was delicious and the chef we had was very entertaining. My daughter said dinner was more fun then some of the rides at Broadway at the Beach. I would definitely go again if we come back to Myrtle Beach!

We had a large party of 17 and there hostess did a great job of seating us close together. This was a first time visit for several of us. The service and chef at the table were all top notch. The meal is pricey but you get a ton of food that makes it worth the price, along with the entertaining chef. It was an awesome evening for a birthday celebration. Well done, Yamato.

We used to eat here often but moved away. We always come to visit and make sure we come for dinner and JOSEPH is our absolute favorite chef. Hes funny, friendly, always amazing and the best hibachi chef in the country.

I have celiac disease and I have to adhere to a strict gluten free diet. As we were sat, our server asked if anyone at the table had any food allergies. Although celiac disease isn’t an allergy but an auto immune disorder, I raised my hand and told him no gluten for me. He informed me that the only salad dressing I could have was shrimp sauce. He also said that I would be given steamed rice and my food would be prepared first. Additionally, if I would bring in an unopened bottle of GF soy sauce next time, they would prepare the food with that for me. He didn’t mention anything about the soup containing gluten, but I ate it and had no reaction. Salad was ok too. I ordered the mahi mahi and the chef prepared it as he started the vegetables and before he used any sauce. He asked if lemon, salt, and pepper was ok on my food and I said yes. He served me my food, and then continued to prepare for the rest of the table using soy and teriyaki sauces. My food was delicious and definitely gluten free. My husband had the Yakinuku and said it was delicious. Our chef and server (I think his name was Rob) were very attentive and entertaining and even did a fabulous job at calming a young boy at the table who initially was scared of the fire at other tables. He was clapping by the time our chef used fire on our table. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars for food is because the restaurant did not have GF soy sauce, but I will definitely bring a bottle next time.

Went here for our closing dinner for vacation my wife and I have been here before for date night a few years back. Dinner and a great show!! The food is great and the chef is wonderful. But really your here because 10 people can eat atvthe same time
