La Quinta Inn Balch Springs

What a pleasant surprise! My wife and I work in Pleasant Grove and commute to Coppell everyday. We were snowed in and decided not to drive up to North Dallas but were kinda hesitant about getting a room around here. We couldn't be happier to find this place. VERY reasonable rate, friendly staff, clean room, flat screen TV with DirectTV, fast wireless internet and complimentary breakfast with waffle maker. I'll definitely find more excuses to stay here time to time. It is also conveniently located with easy access to I20, I635 and 175 freeway. There is also a Shell convenient store with Dickies BBQ within walking distance and next door to a quaint taco restaurant which serves authentic tacos, not fancy TexMex. If you expect a real luxury, try Ritz Carlton in Maui but for what they charge, you will not be disappointed.

Staff is very courteous. Juan the manager called me to set up a room while other places did not care to write down my number. I would recommend this LQ to travelers.

We live in Balch Springs and put family up here when they come to town. We have never heard of any problems. Easy to get to all the highways.

Nice clean rooms

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel was a little out of the way and not much around but we had a pleasant stay.

I can only presume that neither customer courtesy nor sanctification are a priority when it comes to non white customers. Even though, the motel was virtually empty the advertized rate was not available when I asked for it. Proceeding to get a room, after being on the road for two days w/o sleep, they put me in one of the worst rooms they had despite the hotel being empty. It was one with a shared door to the next room which I could head every whisper in the next room. When I asked for a quiet room the guy showed me a worse room next to the elevator (figuring I would realize how great I had it with the poor construction of my previous room). When he told me me I could complaint to the manager the next day, I asked for my money back. The clerk told me I should have made the complaint before the I used the room - (and before the other guests were assigned the room next to mine,) and that he was not going to give me back my money. Finally he showed me to a room which was quiet.

It's disgusting. Room service is rude. They don't like giving out towels. The breakfast is toast. No eggs or bacon. There was puke on the floor and sat there over 24 hours in the hallway. The elevator is completely dangerous. Took stairs the whole time. It's a non smoking place but had cigarette burns everywhere. Management sat and watched tv while we swam in a bug filled pool. We had to clean it ourselves. Awful place.

Lost the 7 day stay reservation for a friend coming in from Taiwan at 930 pm!!! We had to go in because of the communication barrier. Pretty sure they discriminate against anyone looking against the norm as well. My group was patronized the entire time while the worker on duty, not taking any claim for the mishap, TRIED to deny services...this place is a nightmare and the workers have absolutely NO customer service, BEWARE!
