Gorgeous scenic views on the shoreline of J. Percy Priest Lake! Great location to hike, enjoy a swim beach, walk by the water, go #boating from a launch ramp, or for 🧺 picnics. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District operates and maintains this day use area. It costs $5 per vehicle to enter. #Outdoors #CorpsLakes #Recreation #Hiking

Amazing patrol person! Him and his wife were extremely friendly and kind! They are the definition of southern hospitality! I was metal detecting and found a lot of good stuff! I’m definitely coming back here! Great job guys!!

Great Family Area! No entry fees Monday-Wednesday.
Parking was just a few feet from the water and has a great jungle gym. No swings though. The park Ranger gives a 30min notice before closing beach area. Mostly Sandy bottom. The beach area has about a 2 feet concrete wall you have to climb down surrounding most of the area but at the far end in front of the play area it is flat. Incredible day with my 2 1/2 years old. Highly recommend.

We had a blast, swimming and bbqing, and some of us went kayaking. The wind coming from across the lake was sometimes a bit windy. But all in all, it was fun.

Just bought a house that is being built in the area and visited Cook Public Use Area for the first time a few weeks ago! It’s got beautiful views and a boat ramp. Once the house is finished, I see myself visiting this peaceful little area regularly!

Went with my 4 year old grandson. Very family friendly and clean. I didn't see any grills but everyone brought thier own. They have a nice playground for the munchkins. Our new favorite spot

Its beautiful and clean. During the weekends it is PACKED! It's $5 to get in and not too big. Everyday that we went the water was warmer and warmer to the point where it was not enjoyable to beat the heat. But if you swim out a little farther the water was cooler. Onr day it was so unbearably hot that we left after an hour and just drove around with the ac on blast just to cool down. The woman working the booth was exceptionally nice. Grounds were very well taken care of and signage was clearly poster for any information.

I love this place. Probably my favorite lake area near Nashville so far. Water always feels great, plenty of shore to walk if you want to get your own space. Woods are nice too, enjoy walking through them. People seem to do a good job of cleaning after themselves which is nice. Overall a great place to spend the day with family or friends.

Love being able to sit on the rock wall so I can just turn my head to watch him in the water or at the playground. Shout out to the little fish that helped me out with some dead skin on my heels. Lol very relaxing in the warm water with little aquatic pedicurists tickle my feet, feeling the warmth of the sun on my face, and listening to the calming waves.

This place is the best time you can have for free. I thought I would be very scared to let my kids swim but it’s actually not to bad. I was right with them the whole time of coarse but my kids are little. It wasn’t to crowded. The sand bar is clean. My kids love it. We will be going weekly this summer.

Absolutely recommend this place. Clean, beautiful, not very crowded at the time I visited that was around 7 pm. On Monday. I am sure it get much more crowded during weekend. Place has a boat ramp, unload and load. A couple of camping tables plenty of nice grass and some beach shoreline, it’s gravel beach shoreline tho. I think grill is present, can’t say it 💯. Check it out, and enjoy, you out side breathing fresh air by the lake. 👍😀

Enjoy the breeze! Very clean area and BRs. Enough parking for a busy summer day. We went to shelter 2 and there’s tree shade covering all the picnic tables. Lake water is nice a cool for a July summer day. Each picnic table has a grilling set. However, I’d bring my own portable grill. Some grills were broken, but you can still use them as platform/tables to put your own portable one.
