BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Houston

I went on weekend with my friends. It was really good and peaceful environment especially the design of temple is worth seeing for those who don’t believe in Hinduism. Temple has statue of others Hindu goddess other than Swaminarayan and also you can perform “Abisek”.

The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is a popular tourist attraction known for its amazing architecture, which was built with Italian marble and turkey limestone and carved by hand in India. The temple is so serene and beautiful. I had a wonderful time walking around the fountains outside and admiring the beauty of the inside. The temple also has a restaurant and a museum outside. The entrance and the parking is free.

Not just a spiritual place of worship but a great example of Hindu Temple architecture using ancient techniques. Photography is not allowed inside the temple so one has to go and see the beauty of the architecture and experience some peace in mind.

What a peaceful place! The design, architecture is beautiful. We went just in time for pooja.
Later, we visited the cafe on premises. Delicious vegetarian fare.
We also bought some snacks from the adjoining store.
Lot of parking available.

The beauty and architectural design of this temple nestled within the neighborhood of the Stafford area is surely a head turner.

We came here around after lunchtime, only to find that the temple is closed. We did head in at the gate area and politely asked the guard if we could come and visit the grounds and take some photos

Yes, we were allowed to come in. There's no entrance fee because it is a temple, but we make sure to be respectful and not loud.

At the grounds, the landscape was beautiful in contrast with the white beautifully carved design of the temple and other building structures. It felt like we were from another county and not in Texas.

It was a wonderful experience, and we're looking forward to visiting in the future.

This temple is magnificent! The architecture and intricacies of the carved marble is incredible! Honored to have experienced this visit.

When we arrived, there was plenty of parking and admissions is free. I advise you to wear socks because all guests are required to take their shoes off and store it in the shoe rooms before entering the main room.

We visited the giftshop and cafe, where I bought Mango and Rose Lassi ($2.50 each). There were many great trinkets, snacks, and spiritual books that are very budget friendly.

The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Stafford, TX is the biggest temple of its own kind in Texas. It consists of a 11,500-square-foot, 73-foot tall open-air temple and a 25,620-square-foot surrounding deck. There is a huge decorated gateway in front of the mandir which is very picturesque. There is a reflection pond just in front of the temple which heightens your experience.

The temple is made of Italian marble and Turkish limestones. The temple exterior and interior wall is carved with intricate artworks and sculptures. Their are different murtis inside the temple. During Diwali the whole temple is adorned with festive colorful lights. There is a Gujarati restaurant, Shayona Cafe, on the premises. The temple is open and free for everyone and every region.

Our visit there was really peaceful and mind calming. Love to visit again. Highly recommend not only for a peaceful mind but also for experiencing the amazing architecture.

This was soo beautiful and sacred! Please be expected to enter without shoes and women be covered, if not they will give you a scarf and detachable skirt to go around your waist. Respect the temple! And it’s no pictures allowed inside the temple.

This a beautiful place. Staff and people around is very friendly. Check the time for visitors before you go. We learned a lot about a religion that we are not familiar with.

Beautiful architecture, divine experiment. The diwali lighting and fireworks are a one of a kind show, everyone should see.. good vegetarian food and sweets

A huge beautifully maintained Hindu temple. Very clean. The temple is very well maintained and the volunteers were very friendly. The carvings on the temple is one of its kind. After dark the temple is beautifully illuminated with LEDs. Love this place.
They have a cafeteria that opens on Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday only

Nice place to Visit, get some ideas about Hinduism. They have different books on sale that teaches about Hinduism. A good place to see the Stonework (Marble Carving)

A well organized and good place for gathering, I could see many indian trong here on every weekends. Feel blessed
