Canopy by Hilton Austin Downtown

Hard to find while driving (signage is a bit one dimensional), but it is a lovely oasis once found. The lobby and bar area is well appointed and comfortable, the pool is small but lovely, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The back rooms have ZERO view (alley and trash), but we were there to sleep so didn’t matter. Location-wise, it was a bit far down 6th, but that made noise less, which made sleep better. Valet is a bit pricey at $50, but most hotels aren’t much better. Overall, would definitely stay here again.

Friendly staff, great cookies and drinks. We played some rounds of pool in their lobby. They have great courtyard. Location can be noisy but you can request a quiet room. Overall, good stay.

Great hotel. It is very clean, the staff were all very friendly, the restaurant that connects to it has decent food and a bar. The location is phenomenal with lots of restaurants and bars within a range of next door to a 15 min walk away. This is on 6th Street so it's a prime location. My hubby and I were able to sleep with little to no noise outside. The only night we could hear the noise from the street was on Saturday night but the hotel provides a sound machine, ear plugs, and night time tea so they're very helpful with solutions. We come to Austin annually for MotoGP and this is definitely our new hotel for those trips.

Amazing experience at the Canopy Downtown Austin. The location is very central to everything. What stands out the most is the staff here. Everyone was phenomenal! The happy hour and tasting was a nice touch, the card and candy waiting in our room was wonderful and we loved our Gold member goodie bag!
It is important to note that the bars are right outside so the hotel offers earplugs, a sound machine and tea if you need it! Highly recommend this hotel!!

Best hotel experience I’ve had in a long time! The atmosphere is wonderful and the service was top notch. Loved the staff, who were both personable and professional. So many great spots around the hotel to hang out inside and out. The free champagne, cookies, and hot chocolate were great touches! Will be looking for Canopy hotels wherever I go now.

Great hotel in the heart of Austin downtown. Rooms and lobby have a sleek modern look. Small surprises like free cookies, tea, hot cocoa, champagne and cocktails made our stay memorable. It is a very active street at night so they provide ear plugs and a white noise machine- for those who are very sound sensitive consider another location.

I'm coming in town to be with a friend during her surgery, and I must take a moment to thank Brandon from the bottom of my heart for making our planning and stay as accommodating and comfortable as humanly possible. I am a native Texan, and I can tell you that I will always stay at whatever hotel this kind young man works. It's just beyond words how this gentleman goes leaps and bounds for his guests. If you are looking for a stress-free and enjoyable stay, just stay here. Perfect location, perfect people.

This is a top notch Hilton Brand hotel. I really like the boutique style hotels and the amenities they offer. The staff are always friendly and willing to go above and beyond to make sure your stay is memorable regardless whether it’s for business or pleasure. The Nespresso coffee in the rooms is a massive plus. Check was very pleasant and they offer you a glass of champagne. The valet service is very quick and professional. The restaurant at the hotel offered a wide variety of fresh options. There’s plenty of other options within walking distance if you want to venture outside of the hotel. Lastly, the gym has everything needed to get your day started. I would highly recommend staying here.

Loved the bikes! We used them to bike all over and got to see a lot of the city along the river and go to restaurants, of which there are a ton in the area.
The staff was super friendly and helpful, holding onto our stuff the whole day after we had checked out and they never gave us a hard time about coming back to get things/drop stuff off.
Nice, clean rooms, warm pool in winter, cozy adjacent restaurant with good food and nice outdoor area.
We requested a quiet room and had no issues, didn’t even use the complimentary ear plugs or white noise machine.

Fernando was awesome. He made us feel very special at check in! Hotel is nice and right around all the action downtown. It is right in the action, so you can hear the music and life outside your room but they do give you earplugs and a noise machine.

Everything was amazing from the room to how clean and organized everything was but what really stood out was the excellent service provided by the receptionist ( Ana ), I give her a 6/5 star rating. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice and friendly place to stay.

Great location and great atmosphere. Upscale hotel located on 6th street, right next to Star Bar and many other bars and restaurants / food trucks. Staff was very nice and accommodating, and we all had a great time on our random adventure to Austin!

This hotel is such a hidden gem in the heart of downtown Austin. The hotel has such an awesome ambience and vibe. The check-in process is simple. Everyone is courteous, friendly and welcoming. The rooms have everything and are spacious. They are pet friendly, and accommodated anything we could think of for our little companion. they have a pet area in the third floor which was convenient. The pool was a great area to hang out with cabanas and an indoor bar. Lots of lounges and seating. The restaurant verbena is simply amazing. Highly recommend breakfast and dinner there great for business travelers as well they will accommodate anything you can think of. Highly recommend this wonderful gem of a hotel!!! we will definitely be back soon!

We were very pleased with our stay. The front desk customer service was amazing. We loved Fernando on Saturday night. Loved the pool table and common area. The valet service was impeccable. We were able to walk to our morning coffee place. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again. Many reviews mention the 6th Street nightly sounds. Canopy provides earplugs/white noise maker but we didn’t need them. The muted beat/bass from nearby music was not disruptive for us.

A cool modern hotel with large, stylish rooms. It’s close to all the bars and good restaurants as well.

Fernando made our stay fantastic. We came back to the hotel about 11:30 pm. I stopped at the desk to buy a 2 pack of Oreos. I told Fernando I always have Oreos and milk before bed. I asked him if they had any milk for sale.
Fernando said no, but wait a minute. He left and came back up with a cup of milk. Made my night!!

I’ve stayed at many hotels and this is by far top 3 for me I won’t stay anywhere else in Austin. Front desk staff was a lot friendlier this past stay than my previous stay. Rooms are beautiful and offer a free music station. It is noisy but that’s why I picked this location reminds me of NYC. Also they were sold out the next day because it was ACL weekend and they still accommodated me with late checkout. Can’t wait to go back

Had wonderful 4-night stay here with my husband and our 7-month old. The room was spacious and I loved so many of the features in the room such as a hefty sliding door completely separating the bathroom from the bedroom without having to make a sound. On the 3rd day, I was all out of clean bottles and asked if I could use a kitchen sink to wash them and they just took all 12 bottles and washed and dried them for me instead! Above and beyond for sure. Staff was very friendly and the valet service was FANTASTIC!!

UPDATE: I now rate the Canopy a 5-star experience after my return this year and the majority of the credit goes to the staff! The Canopy is in a great location downtown, but it is the extraordinary and friendly service by the staff who make you feel so welcome and feel like family. They are ready to step forward and meet your every need!

Special shout outs go to Otelia and Rachel at the Front Desk. Rachel responded quickly to my texts before arrival to make sure everything was in proper order, and she was at the desk to welcome us with a cheerful greeting. Otelia, again this year, also outdid herself! I met her last year, and she was one of the main reasons I booked the Canopy again for this visit. She is just exceptional and is a credit to the Hilton chain. A better employee than Otelia, I believe, would be hard to find.

The happy hour champagne welcome starting at 3pm is also a nice touch. The rooms are specious and very clean. I chose a room on the back side this time as the music from the bars on 6th street are pretty loud (until 2am on the weekends) per my last experience. Although there is a bar on the back side, it was not as loud or disruptive. The Canopy provides ear plugs and a white noise machine, but we did not need them on this stay.

When I return to Austin, I will choose this Canopy location again. It is just perfect, which makes for an enjoyable stay. Hats off to the entire Canopy crew.

PREVIOUS: This was my first time in Austin, and I decided to use my Hilton Honors points to stay here for three nights. The place is very nice and the service staff at the front desk is outstanding!! Special shout outs to Otelia and Clayne! Otelia welcomed us and asked if we would like glasses of sparkling wine to start. She informed us that The Canopy had happy hour everyday starting at 3pm and that we could bring down our glasses for additional complimentary sparkling wine throughout our weekend. (We did just that - several times!) Clayne was the Night Front Desk Manager (I believe) and also was very accommodating and attentive to our needs. Hats off to both!

There is a great bar and restaurant on site. (I highly recommend the tiramisu as it is a big portion and is probably the best tiramisu I had anywhere.) The service in the bar, including the hostesses at the restaurant stand, were exceptional. One of them even was willing to bring our desserts up to the room! We had the oysters and a flatbread in the bar, as well as breakfast in the courtyard, and everything was perfect.

They also have four bikes available for use. They are complimentary and can be used on a first come, first served basis. However, you are unable to reserve them in advance. We got to use them on Monday morning as we rode around Lady Bird Lake. This was definitely a nice plus.

The rooms are nice and come equipped with a steamer for your clothes (at least in the double queen room we booked). The only reason I gave this review four stars rather than five is due to the noise level outside with the bars located across 6th Street. We were upgraded to a room with an "urban view", but had I known about the noise level, I would have turned down the "upgrade". Saturday night the music was so loud up until midnight or shortly thereafter, that it was difficult to sleep. Sunday night wasn't much better, but it definitely was not as loud. The Canopy provides ear plugs and a white noise machine in the room, but we did not bother to use either. If you prefer a quiet sleeping arrangement, do not get a room facing 6th St!

Overall, it was a good experience, and I would consider returning to The Canopy the next time I am in Austin. However, I will avoid rooms facing 6th street, especially on the weekends.
