Black Pearl Books

This is easily my favorite bookstore in town. The owners are so friendly and helpful. They always remember my face and greet me each time I walk in. The store has a great selection of books and will promptly order it if they don't have it. Communication on books on order is excellent. They have a community section where you can leave used books and borrow one that is there. They also have a great selection of gifts as well as a nice community room where they host different authors, artists, and community events.

Black Pearl Books is the bookstore of dreams.

Their space is gorgeously decorated, their take-a-book-leave-a-book community bookshelf is just about my favorite thing ever, and their general collection is incredibly well curated. There have been several times I've taken a chance on a featured novel on their shelves and I've never once been disappointed!

They also have an outstanding rewards/loyalty program!

Katrina and Eric are the embodiment of everything that makes bookstores magical, and their passion shines through in every aspect of the store. I'm so happy that they've been able to create this space for us all to enjoy and I hope it continues to thrive for as long as they want to share it with us.

Whoever curates their selection has truly excellent taste in literature. Recommend the “banned books” shelf and the community section. You can also order online for pickup! Also, it is such a welcoming store that makes me feel I’m part of something. I hope they are my local bookstore for years to come.

This bookstore is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! Any time I need a gift, hear a book recommendation, and EVERY year for Christmas- I pop onto the website and order what I need. I could have it shipped but I love to go pick it up just to see what gorgeous new stuff they have and I’m never disappointed!

Excellent bookstore with an Afrocentric collection of books, novelty items, and records. They even have a book swap program(take one leave one) and a cozy reading nook! Very impressed with their staff and leadership who create a warm atmosphere where you can get your book fix:) Been here twice and both visits were pleasant. Definitely recommend stopping by to shop here!

It’s the kind of cozy bookstore you see in the movies. The owner is so personable. You walk in and he is eager to help you pick out the perfect book based on your interest. His enthusiasm is heart warming. If you are looking for a gift or your next best read, it’s worth a visit!

First time at this book store, and it was fantastic. Super friendly staff pointed me in the direction of the thriller section I wanted for my summer reading fix. Great selection of books, plus you can have them order a few or one and pick it up later. It was such a nice experience here. They have a nice gift selection, too. Check this place out. I also purchased a cute pair of socks and always get several compliments on them.

After an afternoon lunch with a friend, she suggested we walk across the street to check out Black Pearl Books. So glad we did!! Let me just say, it's a vibe! The store, the book selection, the atmosphere ... it's definitely a place you will want to sit and stay a while. All of which stems from the incredibly kind hearts of the owners. My best friend took me to Black Pearl after I took her to SemiColon in Chicago!

Just walking in you can sense the care and thought that went into curating the collection. I loved seeing the different shelves that had various POC authors separated so you can easily find representation if you’re looking for it. I was delighted to find a variety of books by Asian writers.

They also have a communal shelf where you can take a book and then bring one back for the shelf next time you come in.

Staff is very kind and will give book recs if you ask.

Found this amazing little bookstore yesterday and I can’t wait to go back! The owner is so kind and pointed us to where everything was located throughout the store. There is a great selection of all genres of books and you will definitely find something you’re interested in!

Love Black Pearl Books, I've never had the option to visit in person but have ordered books in the past and now after learning about them through a coworker. Always friendly when responding to emails and the books always arrive in perfect condition!

This book shop is an absolute gem run by brilliant, beautiful people. Their inventory includes an outstanding array of books & art, all deftly organized and easy to find. It's everything I could hope for in a bookstore!

I was driving down Burnet today and was lucky enough to have Black Pearl catch my eye. What a wonderful store, with a wonderful staff. I will be supporting this independent store for a long time to come.

I had such a great experience here! I had been meaning to check out this book store for some time. It looks small on the outside but there is a lot of depth (and heart) to this cute little shop. They have a lot of book options for different ages, as well as a community “take one, leave one” bookshelf. The books are organized in an easy way to browse and the owner and staff were extremely welcoming! I ended up buying three books and can’t wait to go back!

Lovely place with a wonderful variety of books. There is a sense that the books were thoughfully oragnized as well as carefully curated. The folks there are super kind as well. I can't wait to make this a new study/reading spot!

It's such a beautiful store. The kind of beautiful that makes you look for a reason to stick around. I was just going to pick up my book I'd bought online, but ended up looking at the tumblers and other items because the vibe is so pleasantly disarming.

A great selection of current bestsellers interspersed with more niche titles from independent presses focused on diversity, equity and inclusion. They also have a nice selection of gift-idea items.

Obsessed with this adorable little bookshop! Really serves as a wonderful community space, they even have their own little exchange free library section where you can donate books for people to grab for free!

New favorite bookstore in all of Austin!! Would recommend if you are looking for a cozy atmosphere and supportive staff!
