Stay Alfred 422 at The Lake

Loved staying in Stay Alfred in Austin while we searched for housing for our son to stay in during his internship. It was a great way to get familiar with the city. So much more comfortable than a hotel. So clean and spacious. Beds were very comfortable. I'd love to know what type of mattress they use. Can't wait to plan another trip with Stay Alfred! I've already recommended to my friends and family.

Great location, walking distance to everything downtown. Apartment was clean, quite and high value with dishwasher and laundry included. My key fob to the stairwell didn’t work, but there’s a coded door that can be used to enter at the elevator instead so it really had no effect. Everything was easy and efficient; will definitely stay here again.

Overall a good experience! It was easy to get to everything downtown and there was always a scooter outside of the building. The texting line was very useful and someone was able to answer questions I might have in less than 30 minutes.

Cons:
It smelled like trash in our apartment and we couldn’t figure it out until I ran the garbage disposal and put dish soap down there. Not Stay Alfred’s fault but once I did that the smell went away.

The apartment doesn’t circulate air very well so we definitely left the apartment smelling like bacon.

This was our first time in Austin and Stay Alfred was the perfect fit for our needs. Perfect location, great customer service, large apartment, great view, very clean, all check-in and check-out instructions were clear/easy/simple to follow. This is hands down where I will be stay during my upcoming trips. I was there for business and had a last minute situation I needed help with. All it took was 1 phone call and everything was fine because of Stay Alfred. THANK YOU

Personally, we loved this place. Getting your keys was a little bit hectic but nothing you can't figure out. The place was amazing guys. Beautiful room, huge restroom, great kitchen and balcony! Our view is AMAZING. All of this for an AMAZING price. The pool is beautiful and they have a grill and cook out area for guests!!

Perfect place for an event at the Hyatt on Lady Bird Lake. It is literally right next door. The walk/run/bike path around the lake is also right there, and the famous bats under the bridge aren't far either. Great restaurants were a quick little walk away. I'm so glad I found this place! The room itself was clean, well air conditioned, and nicely appointed. The only odd thing I found is that gym didn't open until 9am. I usually work out at 4 or 5. Not a huge deal, of course, and it forced me to get creative and outdoors, but odd nonetheless. I highly recommend!

I'm not sure why folks say it wasn't worth it? I thought the place was great! It is more like an AIR BNB but it was clean, quiet and quite accommodating with courtyard activities available, ie. BBQ grills, pergolas, lawn chairs, swimming pool etc. The apartment as I would call it was super clean and they do accommodate your hotel version of shampoos, conditioner and body wash and body lotion. It could possibly use more than 2 bath towels if you knows you can accommodate more than 2 ppl. Other than that, the location is a prestige location to all of downtown Austin. Great place and I would stay there again.

Stayed here during Saucecon and it was awesome! The apartments are really nice. My apartment was facing the pool area and was very quiet.

For my purposes the location was perfect. Saucecon was at the Hyatt and that was a 3 minute walk. Also walking distance to downtown and Terry Blacks BBQ, which is a must eat.

Stay Alfreds checkin and out process was super easy. Everything in the apartment/building worked (elevators, key fob, etc.). Will be staying again.

It's an amazing location within walking distance to several restaurants, downtown, shopping places, and an amazing park across the street. It was had more amenities than I was expecting, like stove, full size fridge, and washer and dryer. My only complaint is there was no shower liner so you have to clean up the floor after you shower. Everything else was amazing.

Beware of the mandatory $115 cleaning fee (regardless of stay length). I wanted to make sure I got this listed first since this was my one and only true frustration, But I'm still giving it a five-star.

Now that I've got that out of the way what's not to like? This is not a traditional hotel and yes getting the keys can be a little difficult if you arrive after hours, but this is not your typical Austin Hotel. You either get a one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartment depending on what you booked and they range between 800sqft(1bdr) to 1200 sqft(2bdr). There is a large SmartTV in the living room and bedroom(swith Uverse cable & internet, a full kitchen with full size fridge microwave stove as well as dishes, pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc. There is a small dining table for 4, a bar counter located at the massive kitchen island for another 4, and a seating area for 4 in the living room on top of the pull out couch. The 1bdrm comes with a King bed (2bdrm is 1 king & 1 queen) and also includes a roll out cut of you need it. Oh, did I mention the large shower/soaker tub combo and full size washer/dryer with detergent located inside unit?

If you get tired of reading all the features I've listed so far you better stick around for the next section. Don't forget the Outdoor Living Spaces including outdoor TV area, multiple outdoor BBQ grills, outdoor ping pong table, resort-style pool, fitness center, rooftop deck with seating and firepit overlooking Zilker Park, the Long Center, the 1st Street Bridge (and the bats) and an amazing view of Downtown Austin!

Think of it as a fully functioning one-bedroom apartment with all of the basic necessities, and then some cool Austin flair!

Only downsides are the cleaning fee is not easily called-out when booking through third-party sites, building can be a little difficult to navigate if it is your first visit, key retrieval can be difficult if you don't follow the instructions as sent (or available via StayAlfred app) prior to arrival.

Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay near downtown for more than one night! I would still recommend it for individual staying one night if you don't mind not being super close to 6th Street or you aren't able to find a better deal elsewhere.

Always enjoy staying at the Stay Alfred 422. It is close enough to walk to several well known restaurants, walking distance to the bat bridge, and across the street from a large park with many running/jogging paths.

A very lovely place. I wish I could afford to move in. Hopefully someday. I loved the location and layout of the apartment. I would love to go back before the summer is over. I highly recommend this place. Staff was friendly as well.

Great view with terrific access to downtown! The apartment was perfect to share for a conference event at the convention center just a quick 5 minute ride away.

Amazing location about one block from downtown Austin very accessible. It's clean the neighbors are quiet very easy to walk to downtown and back overall wonderful location and great amenities and great prices
