River Nile Cafe

Finally stopped in for lunch. We've been meaning to try it out after seeing many reviews... And they did NOT disappoint! The food was wonderful. Fresh ingredients and even better atmosphere. We had the Hot Roast Beef sandwich with fries (the bread was amazing), the Pesto Chicken Caesar Salad (Perfectly moist pesto chicken breast), and Spinach & Artichoke Dip (served with the best warm bread). All of it was perfect. The owner and staff are the sweetest. I could go on and on! We received much more than food today! Full bellies and full hearts ❤ We will definitely be back!

The River Nile covers every aspect of customer service! They are personable and so friendly! The food is outstanding! We are from out of town and make it a point (more of a requirement) to stop and eat when we are on our way out of town! The goal is to try it all! If you live in Dothan Alabama and haven’t eaten here, you’re missing out! Support small business! It’s definitely worth it!

I’ve been looking for more local restaurants because let’s be honest chain restaurants just don’t deliver. But hidden gems like River Nile Cafe are the restaurants that restore your faith in amazing food with even better customer service. Everything tasted impeccable and I was shockingly surprised. The roasted red pepper soup barely made it out of the parking lot. It was so incredibly flavorful. I also had the American Burger & the sweet potato fries and again my taste buds were not disappointed. Everything was so fresh and satisfying. I will definitely be returning soon. 🙌🏾🥹

I just had the most amazing bagel and lox! The portion was perfect! The everything bagel was an appropriate size instead of the monster bagels other places have. I loved the addition of red onion, tomato and capers...a perfect combination. Thank you, Katie for a lovely experience!

Passed through Dothan for a sweet treat on our way to Knoxville. Ordered famous beignets, chocolate brownie, buttercream cake and a chocolate chip cookie at the Windmill Station location. Y’all, the beignets were phenomenal!! Melt in your mouth and beg for mercy good! All the treats were awesome and our server and the owner were absolutely precious and so kind. Do not miss this gem!!

Where do I start? My buddy And I recently discovered this place and although I rarely, if ever give reviews, this is definitely the one exception. Katie, the owner is an amazing entrepreneurial lady. She works harder than most to make this place incredible. Tucked away, it exudes class in a boutique kind of way. The staff were out of this world and Katie meets and greets all her customers...true southern hospitality. And the food...well... rarely do you find such quality these days. In a world of fast food and deep frying, this is as fresh and healthy, yet utterly delicious as you will find in the US. The roasted red pepper soup would make Gordon Ramsay sit back speechless. The chicken salad sandwhich, the sun dried tomato bread...yeeesh! Which she makes herself daily! I can only comment on what I've eaten, but I have traveled the world in my lifetime and I have yet to find anything to better this. If you come to Dothan, this place is a must.... I can only presume it's waiting for it's Michelin stars! And on a side note, the owner Katie is as sweet as can be and deserves to do well. She has already branched out to a second location... support these places.. .. you will not be disappointed.

SUCH A GEM. you will leave here full&satisfied for sure. place is awesome. I wish I lived in this area to come here regularly. A sandwich on the croissant or sundried tomato is a tough tie…(HUGE SLICES OF BREAD like MASSIVE) absolutely delicious. 5 stars for the sweet potato fries too…oh my …perfectly soft&crispy served with an incredible sauce as well. Maybe the BEST sweet potato fries I’ve ever had. Our waitress Adalina was super sweet, & all of the other staff seemed very customer oriented & happy to serve. I wish I had room for baked goods because they as well looked fresh, enormous&delicious. The space& decor is very sweet as well. Highly, HIGHLY recommend.

Absolutely fantastic food. If you want to treat yourself and not feel bad about it, GO HERE!! Waiter was excellent. He was super sweet and knew just what to recommend. We tried the spinach and artichoke dip which came with beautifully seasoned bread for dipping. Reason why it’s not pictured is cause it didn’t last long enough to capture one. Sweet potato fries were delicious and the chicken sandwich had the perfect combo of savory and tangy from the dill pickles. My husband got the hot roast beef with au jous and he said it was amazing. Everything was perfectly seasoned. Not too much not too little. 100% recommended

The best chicken salad I’ve ever had ! The chicken salad sandwich is so good my wife and I will go out of our way to eat here. Can’t recommend the chicken salad sandwich enough.

We also always get the sweet potato fries . They are excellent with their signature dip. The atmosphere is very cute . Perfect spot for a lunch date.

This gem of a restaurant is hidden in a small store front of an industrial-looking retail center; the building was originally built as a POW camp for German soldiers of WWII. The food is excellent and the service stellar. My wife had a portobella on croissant sandwich with "flat" steak fries (which were wonderfully seasoned). I had a chef salad with Caesar dressing (it had diced dill pickle in it which made my day). The dessert selection is extensive, but only those labelled "Katie Bell's" are made in-house.

Was just driving through and found this little gem of a restaurant and so glad I did! The staff was super friendly, the atmosphere very welcoming, and the food was absolutely amazing! Every bite bursted with flavor making me want more. Their soup was also super unique and tasted great. I will definitely be stopping by again when driving near this area and have already recommended the place to friends and family which is not something I do often.

From the food to the customer service this little cafe had it all. Our waitress knew the menu very well and was able to give us some very helpful suggestions when ordering. My husband and I had the Gouda burger, Roasted red pepper soup, bread basket , and desert to share; we were very happy with the taste and presentation of our food. It was clear to us that this establishment puts love into the food they serve, food was served with an inspirational/motivational comment on the plate similar to that found in a fortune cookie.

Driving through and wanted to stop in. It was so cute and the atmosphere is very calm. The food was great and the sweet tea is perfect!

This is, hands down, the best place to eat in Dothan. The food is amazing, the service is always friendly and the atmosphere is really relaxed. Try the West of Eden sandwich, you will NOT be disappointed! Their sun dried tomato bread is just delicious, get a bowl of roasted red pepper soup with it. Great coffee and desserts too!

Wonderful atmosphere
Smoked Applewood bacon jam is one of those condiments you could eat with anything. Walking around there are other rooms and halls you can explore

Cute little shop with excellent food. We had hamburgers, onion rings, soup, chicken salad sandwiches, and cookies. Everything was excellent and the staff were all just happy to be alive, lol! A very cheerful lunch.

This is a great little restaurant. Excellent food and service. The bread on this sandwich was amazingly fresh and soft. I don’t remember the name, but it’s the one with grilled chicken and Brie. The skillet fries are awesome.

The Portobello Sandwich and the Club Sandwich were incredibly delicious! The Raspberry Iced Tea and the Peanut Butter Cake were off the charts good!!!

Nice people and great food. We stop by going to and from the beach. Great place to stretch your legs and get a bite to eat. Daughter loved the art and we did a little antique shopping.

We loved their chicken salad sandwich with sweet potato fries, and they even had gluten-free bread option. Great place and service, and very cozy atmosphere.
