Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center

I would like to thank Laurel Oaks for everything that you and your staff done for my child. My child has fell in love with everyone ..on the way home all he talked about how nice everyone was too him..and how good that the food was . I definitely can see a difference in him already and I would recommend this place to any child that's in need of help . Also don't believe all those negative reviews that you may have read on here. I was getting a little worried at first but once I seen my child he the last 2 weeks was all worth it for the both of us..we both got a break from one another and it was definitely needed because I got a better version of my child now and thanks again!!

Don’t let the reviews scare you! I almost checked my child out an hour after admitting her due to the reviews. However my daughter wanted the help so we gave it a chance. My 11 year old came here for depression and anxiety with no behavioral issues however she was having suicidal ideations. She was there a week and came home and as a kid I have not seen in over a year. Her symptoms have subsided and she is happier and healthier for it. Dr. Pfiefer was a wonderful doctor to work with and I was treated with respect and as much a part of her care plan as her treatment team. My daughter greatly enjoyed her stay there considering the circumstances. The only downside was my worried mama heart and unfortunately her making friends with a child with severe issues. She did see fights as they are expected with children with behavioral issues but she was not harmed. I am truly grateful for this place and I do recommend it for children who are in need of assistance!

I admitted my 17 year old son the acute unit for about 3 weeks. He was in crisis when we admitted him. He has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, he was having horrible hallucinations and extreme paranoia. His doctor was wonderful, evualute his medication and determined that changes needed to be made. The nurses were great and informative about these medications changes. His therapists did a great job of keeping me updated on his progress and listened to my concerns. He shared that he was treated well by everyone. The only negative thing he shared was that it was cold, he gets cold easily. I want to thank everyone that helped my son. Thanks to all your help. I really appreciate all the time and caring everyone provided to my son.

Laurel Oaks is a behavioural treatment facility. Our daughters's treatment was optimal. She received evidenced based help that we saw a magnamous change that is still evolving for the best.
Treatment takes time, patience and resolve.
We would like to commend the staff there that works tirelessly with children that have varying degrees of trauma based struggles and inner conflicts.
We received these results because we did not allow manipulation of our parental instincts at every twist and turn from our child. We worked as a team with the service provider.
We give laurel oaks a Five Star rating.

Laurel Oaks is not a bad place to be I was there for a week I there for fight and anger management and threats to my family but I would say that the staff there has been better and treat you better but when you leave it's like you want to stay forever but you can't because you have a family that is waiting for the help you need and they will but I have to say the kids there are horrible like it's kids in there that are staring messing with you just to get you in trouble and I left there feeling sad about myself like why did I go there and still messed up at home

Thank you for the staff members who helped me get through this. I am 27 years of age with 3 kids. I came to this place when I was 15 years old I will never forget this place. I'm from DMV area. I am a grown man now. I still think about this place.

It was my first time there, my first time at a mental hospital, and it was like a home to me, and the best and worse experience of my life best because I got the help I needed and made friends, I never made an enemy there, worst experience because I could barely go one night without crying, now I'm out at home and, I have cut twice since I've been out but after the second time I didn't do it again! I want to thank Mrs. Tina, Mrs. Shawday, Mrs. LaToya, Mrs.Tay, Mrs. Tinkerbell, Mrs. Victoria, and Mrs. Livia my therapist there.

Awesome saved my daughter's life, was a bit scary for me and her but we worked through it. Thank you Laurel Oaks!

I was there for a week and a half I had a good experience The staff Were nice to me and the food was good And my therapist was nice to me

I was here back in 2010 for 7 1/2 months it helped me but ever since Laurel Oaks I haven't been locked up since I left on Level 4 on good behavior.

My son went there and he said he loved it more than last place and the food was really good they do recreation they have an academy there for school he went to acute care and he actually misses the place a few days after being home and I wanna say I was terrified at first looking at some past reviews but my 11 yr old speaks very highly and said he felt very safe and his counselor mrs Liz is amazing and kind and was very caring towards me as a struggling single mom so for the parents struggling to find help I highly recommend laurel oaks acute program .

My daughter got the best care and help while there. You follow the rules.
