Wilma's Famous BBQ

Well yes, I finally tried Wilma's BBQ. I placed my order online for lunch so I can just go pick it up. I get there. They're working on the parking lot so it took me a little bit to get a park spot because the parks were limited, and me trying to park is another story. I needed to order some baked beans because it wasn't part of the online order so I let them know that I was picking up and they told me to go to the register to pay for the beans. My order was ready. I drove home and open the goodies and everything looked great and delicious. I got the lunch specials: chicken wing special with fries, pork hot links with fries, and a small rib tip with fries. Everything came with a slice of bread. The only thing when ordering online it does not give you the option to order side orders or to order sauce on your chicken. So make sure you you pick up some sauce before you leave. The chicken was fresh. The fries were delicious. The tips were cut great. They were the perfect size. The hot link was great. You only get one for lunch so be aware of that. I purchased all of this for about $22. Great bargain! If you haven't been to Wilma's you need to go. My husband said the barbecue sauce reminded him of BBQ Kingdom restaurant that was on 5100 West on Madison Street in the Austin area. The place we grew up on had some of the best barbecue, but is no longer in business. I will be trying the turkey tips on my next trip. You want some good old barbecue? This is the place to be.

Now this is some good BBQ! I traveled to come and try them out and it was worth the distance, price, and wait. I went around 4pm and they were packed when I walked in, but they were handling the line quickly. Considering the amount of people inside, the wait wasn’t too bad, about 25-30 minutes. The customer service was friendly. The cashier was really nice and answered questions with no problem. The sauce is a perfect mix of sweet heat and I love it! I got the Tips, Link, & Wings combo (as pictured), and it was $25. I also got the taffy grapes but I don’t remember exactly how much they were, around $3-$5. In total I paid a little over $34. It’s a little pricey but you pay for what you get, as in the photos you can see you get a lot of food. I’ll be back for more! Try them out, you won’t be disappointed.

My best friend and I went after work. We were so excited, as we have long awaited the re-opening. When I tell you we had the best time enjoying our Turkey tips, pork tips, wings and links. Lord, it was a party. We spoke with the owner and he was very courteous, future forward thinking and professional. The new location is very nice. Clean and great customer service from the staff. We didn’t wait long at all. Our food was fresh and so good. I was not let down. Great job! We were not disappointed and the food tasted great as we remembered. My coin was well spent and worth the return. Satisfied customer :)

Pork rib tips were a bit tough,needed to be cooked at slower rate & longer time. This was the 2nd time they were like that ! Rib tips it the are cooked properly they should at the almost falling off the bone point but not burnt up!

We dined at the Chicago downtown location and had an incredibly pleasant experience with our waitress Erica. It felt like family. Chef D’Andre Miller was so kind. I’m looking forward to going back. The catfish was my absolute favorite, but the other dishes we tried (shrimp/wings/turkey tips/mac n cheese/greens/yams) were tasty too.

I drove all the way from Indiana since everyone is talking about how good Wilma’s BBQ is. The restaurant was extremely clean, the ribs are tender and meaty, the BBQ sauce is absolutely delicious, the chicken wings are good, the hot links are HOT and it was definitely worth the drive from Indiana. The cashier has outstanding customer service skills and my only complaint is the music is vulgar but that’s an easy fix. I highly recommend this place for some good BBQ because it is BUSSIN BUSSIN‼

The ladies that were serving were especially kind. The food was delicious especially the chicken. I waited about 30 mins for my order. I will be ordering again soon.

This place gets 5 stars! The bbq is better than Leon’s, and I57 put together. The establishment is so busy prepare to eat in your car or at home. The customer service, temperature, and quality of the food is amazing everything was made fresh. Please spend the extra gas money to come and find out for yourself.

Fresh and finger licking good!! Turkey tips are sooooo yummy. My mom enjoys the fried shrimp. The only thing missing was the cole slaw. This is a picture of my half eaten turkey tips 🤣

Growing up i loved the Flintstones, going to Wilma's takes me back to my childhood. The food is delish and the service is great. the security guards are personable as well. I did notice they changed the containers they use for food.

When was this fine? But you really need to look at your order before you take it cuz sometimes somebody cut their rib tips to too thick or they don't. They could cook. Give you overcooked food but if you go there and they cook it right it's very good. Have a great day at Wilma's and be ready to wait if you don't call ahead of time

Dolton location. Food was delicious took them 7min to get it ready on a tax season friday. Turkey tips was fresh, sauce was sweet and spicy and the meat was smoked to perfection . Fed 3 ppl under $20 New location looks good aswell Chicago BBQ at its best!!!!

Bright, open entryway. One of the cleanest bbq establishments I've seen in awhile lbvs. Friendly staff, who were very helpful with the menu. The order took about 15 to 20 mins. I went around 3pm on Wednesday and it wasn't crowded. I ordered tips and wings. The tips were good, they were nicely sauced. There's also a raspberry or mango slushie available AND you have the option to spike it 😝. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and Delicious.

I luv the mini tip price because it's just enough for me and my dog..... customer service is always gracious, luv the security detail and plus they have a public bathroom ☺

I don’t even know how to describe how good their food is. Honestly the best bbq I’ve had on the southside. I’ve tried almost everything on their menu now and nothing has disappointed me. On thursdays have buy one get one free full slabs, so how can you go wrong!??

This is some finger lickin' good BBQ here! It's been awhile since I had some decent BBQ so this place stopping by was a good chance to celebrate good tidings.

Staff was friendly and helpful, promptly getting me what I ordered. The portions were filling for $9. I got two pork links, rib tips, two slices of bread and some "ism" vegan (the irony!) cheesecake.

My hat goes off to whoever makes that cheesecake because that was the best cheesecake I've had in years. You couldn't even tell it was vegan. It was nice and sweet as well!

The BBQ looked good and tasted great. Wilma's opts for more of a glaze type of BBQ sauce (kind like the sauce you get on Korean BBQ.) While not better than something like sweet baby ray's, it was superb nonethless. You can tell whoever does the recipes for Wilma's has a major sweet tooth as there is a strong, distinct sugariness to the sauce which coincided with the cheesecake's sweetness. The meat was cooked well, my only gripe being the rib tips seemed to be mostly fat and bones!

Overall I wouldn't mind if this place showed up more often as I'm definitely a fan of it.

Delicious food! The rib tip, chicken wings, and hot links were delicious. The staff was helpful, and friendly. You can order online ahead of time if you want. Just be sure to let them know if you want sauce on your chicken. There was not an option to do that.

The service was friendly and helpful. This is most definitely a spot the wife and I will continue to visit. Just a side note if u don't eat pork, their chicken and turkey tips are a nuke!!!

literally the best barbecue place to eat in the entire world. My daughter loves going here to get barbecue food. This place will always be a place that I would get barbecue food from. The fries with the barbecue sauce is so delicious.
