When I was 12-13 years old in 1977, 1978 the owner of this establishment at the time, Joe Kidd, would pay me $2/hr to sweep and mop the floors on Saturday and Sunday mornings. On Saturday mornings he would lock me in the bar so he could go out to breakfast with his buddies. So, I would pour myself a tall, frothy mug of Old Style and stare at it for a while before pouring it down the drain. I live in South Carolina now, but in 2016 I took a trip around the country by Amtrak, stopped in Chicago and rented a car to take my wife to visit Wauconda. We came here and I sat at the bar and drank an Old Style beer and pointed out to my wife that the tile was the same as what I swept and mopped in 1977. Thanks for the memories.

A wonderful local watering hole with a very friendly barkeep and patrons. Prices are very reasonable for a draft and do not sell short the great frozen pizza. Don't know how they do it but it tastes just like fresh made at the local pizza place!

l love this bar, it is my kind of place. Just walking through the front door puts a big smile on my face.
Update: Still going strong. Place looks better than ever.

Breakfast can be had 7 days a week. Sundays hold a nice Bloodymary bar. You make the fixings yourself.
Can be quiet to loaded and loud depends on the day or night of the week. Good food!

Bonner Inn is our relax go to tavern on weekends. Everyone is so nice and talks to you. Just a neighbor hang and we love it although we live down the road a piece.

Fo years while I lived a Grayslake, Bonner Road Inns was a must for Sundays. They do the best cornbeef hash and the ham steak in the world. The cornbeef hash is done locally.
Every time I visit Grayslake, I stop there and the quality remained high.

Good off the beaten path swill hole. Cheap drinks. Video gambling of that's your thing. East end o Wauconda.

Get there by midnight or they may close early. But if you're there, it will be a great time!
