The Gin Mill- Decatur

I was passing through town and needed a late night dinner. The Gin Mill far exceeded my expectations! The staff was friendly and overly attentive. Food was beyond delicious and cooked to perfection. The place had a very relaxed, chill atmosphere. I highly recommend stopping by to experience this hidden gem of Decatur.

Went here for our 1st year anniversary. We went at lunch when they just opened. They were very friendly when we walked in. We had reservations as it was recommended, and I'm glad we did. I had the triple hamburger, and my wife had the lunch special that was Cod. Both meals were great, and we both agreed we would have no issues going back. It's not a loud place like some other restaurants. It was nice to have a conversation with your meal without yelling.
There are lots of options on the menu don't pass this place up.

Best porkchops I've ever had. Servings are BIG and always leave with leftovers. Good beer and drink selection. Definitely the best place to go for a special occasion dinner. Pricey but excellent quality and service

Amazing Apps and Steaks! We had a awesome experience at the Gin Mill. From our waitresses Alexis to the great food! When had the Bang Bang Shrimp, Alligator Bites and a couple ribeyes. Don't forget to get some of that delicious garlic bread too.
Delicious Food Updated: Had the Lamb Chops and Rasta Pasta. The Lamb Chops tasted so good and were so tender!

This was our first time eating there and it was suggested to us by a friend. The food was excellent! The atmosphere was relaxing. The wait staff were very good! All the food was great but I highly recommend the Bruchetta and the pineapple upside-down cocktail!! Delicious!

This place is awesome!! It will be a regular for me! Food was amazing, service was excellent, and great atmosphere. Steaks were cooked perfectly, great flavor.

Relaxed environment, perfect for a date night! Hubby and I went for our 6th wedding anniversary and it was amazing. Jessica G. Was our waitress and she was super friendly and we didn't have to ask for a refill or anything the entire dinner. Such a sweetheart! Food was amazing. We got ribeye, twice baked potato, salads, and Mac n cheese and none of it disappointed in the slightest. Highly recommend!!

Went for a work event, service was amazing, the food delicious (baked tortellini w/steak, bacon wrapped pork chops). Wife loved the chocolate cake, the cheese cake w/berry sauce was the best ive ever had.

Always great food, drinks and service. We prefer to sit at the bar and always enjoy our experience. Highly recommend 👍

Haven’t been in a few years, thought we would try again. I had the ribeye delmonico , done medium rare, it was perfect and delicious with Brussel sprouts and a big salad, husband had trout and twice baked potato, delicious , we went back the next week❤

Worth every penny! Our server, Kiona was engaging and attentive. Service was impeccable and the food was amazing. Though we didn't have room for dessert we took it to go. Will definitely be back! Thank you guys for a wonderful experience!!!

We joined some old friends, and had a wonderful dinner. The food was great, we had the fried calamari, artichoke dip & chips for appetizers, and steak for dinner. Too full for dessert. Our server was amazing. She never forgot we were her guests. The atmosphere has a trendy barn vibe. We'll be back soon!

Delicious food, I went for lunch and I had the "Best Chicken Sandwich" and I had a cup of the Soup of the Day which was a cheese tortellini with some sausage. I'm definitely going to go back to try a few more items.

Last night was our first visit to The Gin Mill, and it certainly will not be our last! We had a reservation for 5 PM, and when we arrived we we instantly shown to our table which was ready for us. Loree was our server, and she was top-notch! The bread came out first and it was soft, fresh and delicious with the homemade butter. We ordered the fireside chips and dip as an appetizer, and had to stop ourselves from devouring the whole appetizer before our meal. We were “that table,” and everyone in our party ordered the filet, just different sides. We each requested a different cook on our steaks, and they were all cooked perfectly to our liking. I had the house salad and twice-baked potato as my sides. The portions were extremely generous! You won’t go away hungry. Loree remained extremely attentive throughout our meal and was genuinely nice. Actually, the entire staff was friendly and they were working well as a team. You can tell they genuinely enjoyed their work. All in all The Gin Mill had everything we wanted in a dining experience - fun atmosphere, excellent service, and great food! We will be back.

What a Horseshoe! Other than a few exceptions in Springfield, restaurants rarely serve a great Horseshoe -- but The Gin Mill nails it! So. Delicious. (And big!)

1st time visit... Very impressed. Been wanting to go for a long time, but sometimes very busy . great food and awesome service. Will definitely be back !!

Great food, great service, big city quality rib-eye. Must try - rib eye, devil eggs, raspberry wheat beer !

In town for business and stopped in to check them out. Great food and drinks. Wonderful service.
