Kief's Reef

I usually go here for outdoor summer music on a river, but a very special band was playing. The Reef resembles a log cabin with taxidermy fish on the wall. Owners & staff are extremely friendly making each patron a friend. Food was very good. Drinks reasonable. Do u see the pontoon on the river??

Great place to hang out with friends. We played bingo, it was a lot of fun. Food is very good, especially like their pizzas. Great selection of beer and drinks. We will definitely come back.

From the moment I moved around the area always wanted to stop by and check out The Reef like the locals call it. Definitely worth it, from the food to the drinks to the atmosphere to the amazing staff, bartenders, bus boys. To the owner and his family. Such an amazing job they have done with their business. Always so welcoming you can tell they take pride in their work. To start their bourbon burger and half off pizzas on Mondays are so delicious. you can tell their chef and crew know what they are cooking behind those doors. This place offers entertainment all year long from bingo during the cold season to the bands and volleyball tournaments in the summer. But I have to say what makes this place stand out from your typical establishment is its people. Keep up the good work everyone! And a big thank you to Randy you have done an amazing job!

We had to try the wings since they were voted the Best in McHenry. They're very good, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The homemade sauces were tasty too. My husband got the pork tenderloin, which he is a pretty big critic of, and said it was very good - this is a huge compliment coming from him. I had the steak wrap, the meat was tender and flavorful. I wasn't sure about bringing our kids but they have a children's menu and the staff was welcoming of them. We would frequent this restaurant again!

I took my family tonight for dinner. 4 of us had the all you can eat crablegs and they were delicious. The pizza was also delicious. Our server was Katrina and she was very helpful and attentive. The only downside was that it was very noisy. We're going back again.

Had a blast. One of the best places to hag out. Super friendly staff, right on the water. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Some of the best wings in the Mchenry area. We have been on a kick of trying wings and have been disappointed until we found Kief's Reef. It was our first order, the wings were crisp, juicy and the sauces delicious. Only bit of improvement was the ranch we received was a bit on the watery side. Overall would highly recommend!

It's been many of many years since I stopped at this place by boat on the fox river. The food is dynamite! They have great specials and reasonable prices. Couple things that drew my attention. If your looking for a great hot drink on a freezing cold day... The coffee is on, add some Jameson and Baileys or Frangelico and you'll be happy. Second, they have superb crab legs and great pizza! And now... Drum roll please... If you have been on the hunt, like I have... for Garlic Parmesan chicken wings! Look no further... I list them as a tie with a chicken wing outfit, not found around here, called wings to go... And that's a tough place to beat. The Reef has superior garlic parmesan chicken wings. The best by far that I've tasted in the NW suburbs. Per this review... Go on a Thursday night. You'll be thank me later, if your a chicken wing fanatic like I am. Your quest for your craving is over. They got'em! Bravo! (Whistling) Great Job Gang, Very Impressed! Don't change a thing with them wings. AAA+

First time we went here. The bartender was very nice. Food was great! We will for sure come back!

Kiefs reef is a fun clean and friendly establishment. My family and I often come here and are treated like family. The service is amazing the food is great and the atmosphere is very inviting. The waitresses and staff are wonderful. Couldnt ask for a better home town bar and restaurant.

5 stars ACROSS THE BOARD! Pizza is the absolute favorite, and of course we couldn't miss their summer bands. Absolute great place to be, as long as you don't mind traffic in your ear. Bring a boat, or a bike!

We had the Buffalo Chicken and a Cheese Burger. It was delicious, friendly service and great views of the Fox River.
Looks like the place rocks in the Summer.

My Shrimp Po Boy was delicious. My kids all had burgers and loved them. Our waitress was amazing. We'll definitely be back. It's easy to get seated for lunch. I hear dinner can be a challenge with the large number of people who visit.

What an awesome experience to dine at Keifs! The salad bar is awesome and our dinners were incredible! Great value, Great food, and Great service!

I love coming to the Reef year round! Such a pleasant atmosphere in the summer at the beach bar, and delicious food always! Friendly staff that are fun and attentive.
