After getting quotes from a few companies, I went with Midwest Cedar for roof preservation and repairs on my 10 year old cedar shake roof in Northbrook. I am happy with their work. They were careful during the process, communicated well, and it looks good.
They were thorough and thoughtful during quote process, and delivered what was promised. I would recommend them.

Called Midwest Cedar Roof Maintenance and set up an appointment for an estimate to treat and repair my Cedar roof. Quick response and appointment made.

Day of estimate was shown pictures of areas that were in need of repairs and given a detailed explanation of the work that was needed. Very happy about that because it helped me understand the process of treating my roof.

Estimate was a fair price compared to other Cedar treatment companies. Decided go with Midwest Cedar Roof because of how honest and informative they were. They even found a chimney stone that have fallen off. They offered to reinstall it free of charge.

Day of treatment. They arrived early and explained the process. They covered our patio furniture and got to work. Replacing the damage Cedar shakes, fastening all the loose ones, treating and staining the whole roof. Even washed our windows during the process to avoid them getting stained.

Once complete, they cleaned up well. No concern with nails all over the drive way or damaged plants.

Over all we love the grey color on our roof and very satisfied with the work and price and costumer service that was provided. I ll definitely continue to use Midwest Cedar Roof Maintenance on any of our future treatments and repairs. I definitely recommend them.

Ed and Enrique's team performed a cedar soft wash, repair, and preservation. It's night and day and the roof looks beautiful and new again! 5 year warranty gives us peace of mind for any loose or damaged shingles. We will definitely continue to use them for regular maintenance and ongoing preservation treatments. They also had the best pricing compared to the few other competitors that offered these services. I chose Midwest Cedar Roof Maintenance after getting several bids for cleaning and repair of my older cedar shake roof. Ed answered the phone when I called. He was very nice and responsive. He made time for an estimate within a day or two. I was impressed with his inspection to start with. He climbed up on my roof, inspected the whole thing and came down showing me pictures and describing what he saw and recommended. I had the written proposal very soon after. He had me scheduled for the first part, cleaning within a week I think. Next came repair and then applying the preservation. I had to call Ed several times for questions and a couple schedule changes. Each time he answered the phone. No voicemail, no getting back to me a few days later. Ed came each time for the three steps. He and his crew were awesome. On time, hard working, did a great job and cleaned up each time. I can’t say enough good things. I would recommend Midwest Cedar Roof Maintenance in a heartbeat and gladly use him again.

We used Midwest Cedar Roof Maintenance for a preservation treatment of our cedar shake roof. Enrique was very attentive to our concerns, and his crew did a wonderful job performing some minor repairs and treating the roof. They also ensured that the house and windows were clean before they left. We would hire them again.

We bought a home with a cedar roof late last year with little understaning of the maintenance involved. When I contacted Ed for maintenance in the fall of last year, he was very responsive and explained things thoroughly. Earlier in 2023, we had some significant damage due to an ice storm. Ed again responded quickly and detailed what would be needed. He worked with our insurance companyh every step of the way. He and his team are professional, detailed, and accommodating and we are more than happy with our roof, skylights, and gutters that all needed replacing. We will use them in the future!

When we purchased a home with a steam bent cedar roof, we immediately knew we needed a professional to assess the condition of it. Adan was responsive, and spoke with expertise after seeing just a photograph. The in-person inspection was thorough, and the recommended repairs and maintenance were cost-effective to maximize the remaining life of the roof.

These guys are great and I will work with Ed and team for all future roof needs. I was not sure of the condition of my cedar roof and received multiple quotes and opinions. Ed was easily the most thorough with his estimate and took multiple pictures of the roof. He was honest and provided me 4 different options based on cost and what my future plans were for the roof. Whether I continue to service my cedar roof or decide on a replacement in a few years I will be calling Ed. If you want honesty, a fair price, and simply nice people to work with give them a call.

5-stars, Ed and Enrique were great to work with, we interviewed a few local cedar roofing specialists, most everyone had similar pricing and proposals. Ed, however took the time to follow up with us, ensured all of our questions were answered, was consistent with his messaging and showcased a thorough depth of knowledge on how best to approach maintaining and preserving my cedar roof over the life of it, not just the here and now. Ed actually recommended doing a soft wash now and preservation in a year or two, making the investment when it mattered instead of when it was convenient or got them more sales, the reasoning behind the recommendation was because my roof is pretty new, within 5 yrs.

Come the day of the work, they showed up on time, did a great job on my roof, walked through a few items pertaining to it, covered everything and did a very thorough job of cleanup, up to and including cleaning the windows as to not leave water spots and streaks.

We had a number of cedar shake shingles replaced on our roof and the company did a wonderful job. They answered all my questions and gave me updates with the repairs they were doing. The guys were great to work with. The roof looks fantastic and I look forward to working with them again.

This is the second time I've used Midwest Cedar roof for maintenance and sealing of my cedar shake roof. Enrique, Ed, Adan, and the whole crew are very good at what they do. Very professional and courteous....genuinely good people. They inspected, cleaned, and replaced any cedar on my roof and then applied a comprehensive coat of preservative to all surfaces. They did a good clean up including windows and skylights. They were all very responsive to any requests I had.
If you're reading this you probably know how expensive cedar shake roofs are, so maintaining them is crucial. Ed and Enrique offer a very good service at a fair price. I highly recommend them.

They started and completed the work within the time promised without cutting any corners. The crews that they sent to do the work on my roof did a magnificent job. My cedar roof now almost shines like gold in the sun, and looks better than it ever has since I bought the house. All of their guys worked very hard, totally professionally, and paid fastidious attention to every detail. It was a pleasure watching the highly skilled and coordinated performance of their team as they went about accomplishing their mission. The end results were – in short -- outstanding.

These guys are great to work with, I would recommend this company. I will be calling them in a few years to have my roof cleaned and preservation again. I contacted this company to have my home’s cedar roof cleaned. Ed first came to look at our roof and get an idea of what needed to be done. He clearly understands cedar roofing. He explained in detail what needed to be done and how it would be done. He also gave us his estimate. Ed’s crew arrived as promised and did a thorough job of cleaning the cedar shakes where needed. (This company uses a power washer but does not use pressure. Pressure/power washing can damage cedar shakes.) Some time later, a crew returned to stain the roof in order to protect it from damage.

The roof looks much better. I will call this company again to have my roof cleaned whenever it is needed. I highly recommend this company.
