It's a good place to go for gas it's convenient and one of the only places to get gas on 3900 south besides right across the street but take it from me go to the miniature market it's a branch off of the one on 33rd and the same east and they offer everything you might need from a mini matter.

The boss thinks it's ok to demand medical information on an employees elderly parent causing said employee to quit then threatens the said employee with social services because on days off said employee may purchase a beer or so at one of their stores and when said v employee quits also bans them from all their stores

I've been going to Miniature Market since it was a tiny little shop that sold everything under the sun on 33rd & 3rd east. Around 20 yrs ago, the old shop was demolished and the new Miniature Market was built. THEN the Miniature Market Express on 39th & 3rd came along.
In that time, I have always had good experiences with the cashiers and employees until today. I went in to get some gas and a drink plus snack for my teen son while he waited in the vehicle. As i was looking at the snack aisle, I had a feeling that someone was looking at me. Sure enough, the non-Anglo cashier was staring at me like I was the nastiest thing that darkened his store's doorstep all day long.
In the spirit of trying to keep things light hearted, I said: "Don't worry, I'm not stealing anything." The guy immediately gave what seemed to be, a short tempered type reply which I did not hear in completion...and his friendly coworker started up chatting to try and deflect from her coworker's abrupt attitude.
I had heard about this gentleman from my teenage kids before when they would run in some money for gas or get a fountain drink. I heard about him a lot during the summer, but I always blew them off...I thought the guy had a hard day or that perhaps my kids had misinterpreted his body language & attitude.
Not so!! This gentleman definitely has some type of issue communicating with the general public in a pleasant manner.
Maybe he doesn't like his job, or his position at Miniature Market---whatever it is, a person with this type of attitude & demeanor has no business as a cashier or shop keep, or in any position where dealing with customers and the public is a key part of his job description.
Many of the OTHER cashiers & employees at both Miniature Market locations are pleasant and a pleasure to interact with. Not this guy!! I feel bad that I had my teenage kids run in this place for gas & snacks while I pumped the gas. I didn't know that there was someone this unpleasant in the Miniature Market Express that they would have to interact with.
Perhaps the general manager or those individuals in a supervisory position at Miniature Market might take a closer look at how some of its employees deal with customers. Maybe they might adopt some type of module or program that employees must compete on customer service so that individuals who don't have an inkling of an idea on basic convenience store hospitality might be able to manage to briefly conduct store purchases & transactions with customers without making the customers feel like they are a problem or issue for the store employee to deal with.

Most of the employees are very friendly and go out of their way to help you with whatever you need above and beyond what they need to!!! Owners and management are the worst most unkind people I have ever met!!!! They don't know how to treat their customers or employees with any respect...and they wonder why everyone quits!!! Honestly don't know how they stay in business!!!!
