Beautiful campground with nice new showers/restrooms. We stayed here after a day on the island and really enjoyed it. Awesome views of the bridge - it’s very relaxing to sit at the picnic tables on the beach and watch the water, the bridge traffic, and the Mackinaw Island ferrys. If camping in the south unit, keep in mind it’s about a half mile from the entrance, so be sure to purchase any firewood you might need on the way in.

This was a very nice State Park with pull-thru sites! We even saw our Monaco 'twin' next to us while we were there. We stayed here so we would be close to the ferry going over to Mackinac Island.
Great access to the lakeshore.
One down side, you have to pay $11 per day, PER VEHICLE when entering any State Park. I wish we had known that before staying there. We like state parks because they are usually a nice, affordable option....BUT after paying $44 (2 vehicles for 2 days). With that, this campgoung isn't all that affordable!

Very clean park, seems to draw a blended crowd so it's pretty quiet at night while still allowing you to enjoy your evening. Beautiful view of the bridge. The beach is pretty narrow but very long and shouldn't have a problem sitting in the sand. Water is very shallow and warm but very rocky.

Our site was 68A it was nice but kinda muddy from a previous camper. I would recommend camping on the east side of the campground if you want to be closer to the water. The sites are prettier. Overall the bathhouses were very clean and well maintained and cleaned regularly(props to the rangers). It was a very memorable trip and 🚴‍♂ in town was so much fun for ice cream. Oh we definitely recommend on the way home stop by wild, blueberry breakfast and bakery. They have a blueberry turkey burger that is a dream.

Beautiful park with great views of the Mackinaw Bridge, camping spots, trails, and the historic Lakeside Cemetery. I included pictures of the stairs that take you to some of these areas. The park is big and very well kept. You’ll receive a map when you enter.

This is an absolutely wonderful State campground. So much to do and see from here. Bike, kayak, swim, relax. The water keeps things cool for the most part. The campground recently went through some building renovations and campsite improvements.

This park is great. Clean, private, Easy back in. Great dump station. Close to town. Good walking trail with a view of the bridge. Will return.

We had a great view of the bridge from our non-electric site. We were a row over from the bathrooms. The path to the beach was nice and the beach was exclusive to the campground, so not a lot of other people.

We picked site #79A. This was a site along the beach. We loved this site. The beach was steps away. We had a great view of the bridge.
The bath house must have recently been renovated. It was beautiful! They had a kitchen sink for washing dishes, nicely done shower rooms, and clean modern toilets.
The beach here is nice. In mid July and Lake Huron was still very cold. Thank you Straits SP! You’ve exceeded all expectations.
Only negative was the trucks Jake braking.

Beautiful MI state park right next to Lake Huron and with awesome bridge view. Tons of campers over the weekend. There is a small playground for kids and coded restroom for campers.

The spectacular view you get of the Mackinac bridge from this site is well worth any trip you take. It's a very short walk on a trail and not strenuous at all. There's also a lot of campgrounds in the area that get quite busy during the summer months. Really allows you to live how you want to in the summer if that's what you're looking for! But fret not, if you just want to stop for this view, you surely can. In fact, that's what I did this trip. Found a quick spot to park and grabbed some shots. So worth it if you're in the St. Ignace area!

We love camping at Straits State Park. You can't beat the view of the Mackinac Bridge! We always camp at the rustic/no electric sites for the best view.

Love this place. Our site was 86A the campsite was uneven but large and had a trail down to the beach. Restrooms were clean but the showers needed a curtain. The playground was ok but outdated and hard to find. the staff was great

One of the nicer Michigan State Campgrounds I've been to. Very clean and organized sites and facilities. Beautiful walking trails with scenic lookout points. Breathtaking views of the Mackinaw Bridge, and the gorgeous water that surrounds it. Close proximity to a supermarket and downtown St. Ignace, where you will find all sorts of restaurants, shopping, and ferry's that take you over to Mackinac Island.

All around excellent for camping. Very clean, well maintained facilities. Bathrooms and showers always have hot water, and there's an outdoor dish washing station on the side of the building. Sites are pretty large and mostly shaded. The campgrounds near the lake have short walking trails right to the beach, with incredible views of the Mackinaw Strait and Bridge. Well worth visiting at least once.

We stopped in on the way to Escanaba and decided to hike the trail to the bridge viewing area. It was a nice fairly easy hike, I would suggest having proper shoes and bug spray. The mosquitoes were viscious, but the view was amazing and I was glad that we stopped.

If you love rustic trails, cedar trees and moss covered rocks while on your way to see the Mackinaw bridge through the trees then please take time to stop and smell the earth. Amazing place.

Loved this park. The bathrooms and showers were clean and had paper. Unfortunately, children want to congregate at the bathrooms, so that was annoying every time we went. We love the individual outside entry shower stalls. I wish these were standard everywhere. This is quite a large park, but we were able to walk it completely in about 4 miles and that includes going to the bridge lookout and the lake front area. This is truly a beautiful park and the views are fantastic.
Our TV service was very limited, but the channels we got were clear. Our phone service was really pretty good and we had no problems getting online or making calls. There are 2 ferry lines in St Ignace going to Mackinac Island and both offer shuttle service to and from the port. We took the shuttle when we went to the Island one day, then we actually walked back into St Ignace the next day. It’s a very easy 1 mile walk to the boardwalk right at the lighthouse. The park is really nicely placed near lots of local attractions. We recommend it to everyone.
