Sanford Historical Museum

Really cool little piece of history. Not sure if this place is ever open but when I went on Thursday it wasn't. Most rooms still had light and you could check out most of the stuff from outside. Didn't take to long to check it all out but for sure would stop if you were passing by. Like that everything is in memory of veterans!

This place is absolutely amazing. Never knew Sanford had such a great museum with so many cool historical sights to see. It isn't huge, but it isn't too small either... and it's packed with so many interesting things...an old school, an old train station with box cars and a caboose, old lumberman's house, black smith, old tractors, old church and an old General store.

Great bunch of history on public display! All free of charge!

We had a beautiful wedding in the chapel. It's a wonderful place to visit or have a special event. And gorgeous pictures! I have always loved this place ❤

Best little town by a Dam site! Come see for yourself!

Just a great place for youth, I've never had a bad time there. Events are well done.

Visited during historical days. Watched the parade and enjoyed the breakfast, bean soup toured the buildings.

Actual historic buildings allowed visitors to enter to see artifacts, see the flood lines from the 2020 river overflow, see farm equipment & how stumps were removed. The river played a key role to transport logs. Photographs of the town's people throughout several years are available.

What a gem we stumbled upon! Great historical value information. And they even had markers of the recent flooding on the buildings. It was very interesting. Our 7 year old grandson loved it.

Coming here for Sanfords founders day was one of the best ideas I've heard.

I love founders day, the exhibits here at the museum and the demonstrations during the founders day event are definitely worth the trip. Young or old, it is a good time.

The museum is great! The annual Founders Day is well attended and alot of fun!

Not very big but it's great for how small the town is. It's really cute and fun for the family.

Excellent place to go with the kids or a nice walk through for adults absolutely AWESOME!

Santa is awesome here! Our two boys love the trains too.

I love local history and the museum has done great things to bring how life was in our community.
