Vets Main Pavillion, Veterans Memorial Park,

Beautiful little trail area for hiking, running, or walking, The pavilion is perfect for family get togethers, and it has a canoe launch for the river!

Great place to walk some trails with the pooch. Well kept, it has modern bathrooms by a large grassy clearing in the center of the area.(the BEST place to play frisbee or catch around here)
Note that only during the warm months the road that loops through the entire park is open. Otherwise, you can park in the lot at the entrance. Great trails, including a loop through a stand of very large red pines that are straight and very tall. Two pavilions are here, one large one small, also a playground too. Almost never busy. Often times, I'm the only one here. Check out the trail behind the portable toilet in the parking lot, it's a little difficult to traverse but goes along side a ravine with some big beech and hemlock trees. There's also a new trail, as of 2021, that starts from the parking lot and goes through the pine forest adjacent to Cole Rd. Nice addition.
Take the trail that goes over a small bridge at the parking lot, through the old growth Red pines, down some steps, over the Teed drain and connect to the other part of Vets Park. There you will find another pavilion, a fire pit, additional trails and a link to the Pere Marquette rail trail.( You can access this part of Vets Park from 8 mile Rd by car.)

Great place to go for a walk, walk a dog or have an event. Actually bathrooms, playgrounds, big fields, nice pavilions and very secluded.

Vets park in Sanford is a very nice county park. It's sister park, on north 8 mi road is also a very clean and well maintained park. I go there for the peace and quiet and also for it's natural beauty.

This place is like my back yard, not literally...wish, but yes I am here very often. The wife and I walk the dogs here pretty much everyday of the week. It’s a beautiful park, basically two different parks interlocked together by a nice network of trails and paths also connecting to the rail trail too. I think many of the trees here are comparable in size to that of Hartwick Pines State Park 🌲.

This has always been one of my favorite places. Little less peaceful after houses were built really really close on Cole Rd. But what's done is done.

Great place to walk. After the dam failure the wooden bridge has been closed. No notice on when it will be restored. Bathrooms. Picnic tables. Grills. Trails. Never busy. Well maintained

My dog was watching some ducks. I love walking the trails. It is kept very clean. I think they even blow the leaves off the trails

It has lots of shade, very clean and well taken care of. Lots of trails to walk with plenty of wildlife as well as a cute little playground for the kiddos.

This place is really nice to set at.and grill Really quit. No one around we always go there after we come off the trail.
