Blue Lake Tavern

First time. Absolutely amazing. The server Jaylen was tentative to what we wanted. Never had a empty glass. The blue lake burger was amazing. Cooked perfect and moist. I didnt put even ketchup on it. The fish tacos were glistening when you split open the fish. Cooked perfectly and not dry at all! Huge peices of fish make all other fish tacos seem tiny! We will be back!

Awesome experience. Delicious food (shrimp and perch fish were amazing) and the patio is large and has a nice view of the water. It feels out of the way but definitely worth the drive.

This is a great place to hang out with just you and your date or a great place to gather with friends! Very friendly staff! Stevie was our waitress and she couldn't have been more sweeter! The patio was spectacular with a great View a Blue Lake! We will be going back!

The view here is pure Michigan whether you sit inside or enjoy the outdoor deck. Wide array of choices on the menu makes it hard to choose! Considered blackened salmon, fish tacos, and a philly sandwich, but settled on the porterhouse steak. Cooked the way I like it and the topper was like a baby french onion with chipotle butter - to die for! Bad weather during our visit, so the outdoor band was cancelled. Heard it is a lively place when the band plays. Reasonable prices and casual atmosphere.

Went to eat there yesterday. I didn't know what to expect for a tavern menu... but boy were my expectations far exceeded. We had a few appetizers- mushroom crostini, fire cracker shrimp & a cup of squash chili. They were ALL superb! There were several dinner item menus I can't wait to go back and try. Everything I saw the servers bring out to other tables looked enticing and well presented. I really hope to get in touch with them to discuss catering our wedding! Also A+ to their team for persevering through covid guidelines. Everyone was very friendly and patient, we throughly enjoyed our dining experience. Great first impression!

Fun bar and grill restaurant in an older log cabin style building. The patio are overlooks the lake. Food was very reasonably priced and very good. The staff are always fun to talk with. You will need to call to get reservations or roll the dice and walk in and see if a table is available.

The view this place has is incredible. We got to sit right by these huge windows that overlooked the lake. We went while it was cold, but there is also an outdoor patio I’m sure must be amazing in warmer weather. The food was great, I got the chicken penne and I finished the whole thing it was so good. The fresh bread and the shrimp appetizer were such great additions to our meal. Highly recommend.

we haven't been to Blue Lake Tavern in several years not since the new owners took over. Very much surprised in a great way! Food was excellent, our server Katie was superb! Will definitely be going back. You need to try the spinach and shrimp pasta and for dessert I got a free peanut butter pie for my birthday that was out of this world!

This place was great! Seated immediately on the patio on a Saturday evening, overlooking Blue Lake. Service was great and the food was excellent! I had prime rib, cooked perfectly, and the smashed potatoes were surprisingly good; don't let the looks fool you! The honey mustard dressing was awesome, I assume it's homemade. My mother in law had the pork chops with a cranberry chutney, which she said were very good. My wife had a pasta dish with cheese and bacon which she also said was good. We're very happy we stumbled on to the Blue Lake Tavern, and will definitely return.

Amazing food! Amazing view! If you get to sit outside, it's a nice place to go for a date! The price won't wreck your wallet, and the taste makes it all the better! I've tried the salmon and one of the burgers, both of which I'd highly recommend!

What a great surprise this place was. From the road you would never expect this hidden gem to be what it was. We were staying in the area, it was late and we were hungry. It looks like a little hole in the wall from the roadside, but from the inside and views overlooking the lake it was anything but. We had a very nice meal. The menu is extensive with a lot of interesting options. The atmosphere was relaxing and fun. The waitstaff was super friendly and accommodating. We had an excellent meal. Food was served hot and was plentiful. The of the sun setting on lake was very nice. We didn't get to see the patio because a storm had blown through shortly before. More people need to check this place out. 20 minutes outside of Big Rapids (near Ferris State Univ). The brussel sprouts were delicious, if you like them. The Tavern Mac and Cheese was very, very rich... you better like a sharp cheese if your order this. The Shrimp and Spinach Penne was very good.

Great tasting food and amazing service. We were there yesterday for mothers day and it was PACKED. We were a large table of 8 and 4 of the guests ordered burgers. They came a little bit after the others (which honestly we didn't feel was all THAT late for as busy as they were) however the manger on duty came over to apologize and she let us know she took them off of our bill. That was HALF of our bill! It wasn't necessary however she felt it wasn't up to their expectations.. you guy's I cannot STRESS ENOUGH about helping out with the small business! We will be back for SURE and that patio.. I can't wait to try it out this summer!

Great perch dinner! Food is good service is good if you get the right waitress. I have had a couple bad ones. It gets busy at dinner rush so be prepared to wait for a table and for your food. Beer selection is ok I guess it's a bit low on local craft beer sometimes. All in all I love this place and go regularly. You should to!

Beautiful lodge ambiance. Stunning overlook of Blue Lake. I haven't met the chef....but they are truly talented. Try the prime rib...or the onion rings! I have never been disappointed with any dish I chose. Great date night spot! Classic bar with savvy bartenders. Check it out! Fire in the Hole! Rod

Four of us took a bike ride on the back roads. This was a great find. Sat in the indoor porch overlooking the lake. Very clean and neat appearance. Super service (K****), all four of us had a great meal, fair prices, the wives made their own Bloody Mary's. Will definitely come back and wouldn't hesitate recommending. Two thumbs up.

Great place to eat. Made reservations for 8. They had us ready in the room overlooking the water. Once our entire party got there everyone wanted to be outside on the patio, they were very accommodating and pleasant. We all had prime rib and it was delish. Thank you 😊

Great service! We had 21 people in our party on a very busy Sunday evening. They did a great job keeping up not only with our table but others around us. Sat in the back room so we could over look the lake. It was a great evening.
