TJ's Shanghai Dumplings

Like many other folks over the past couple of weeks, a friend pointed out the recent video review of a place that's been in business 20+ years I never knew about.

Be warned up front: it's carry-out only at this time. We didn't know that.

The store itself is charming and no excess. You go there for the food. The gentleman who waited on us was extraordinarily polite and helpful. I'd go there again based on the service alone.

I ordered the shrimp dumplings, which reminded me quite a bit of the ones I get in Hong Kong, so, bonus. Lots of filling here, too. The crab rangoon is hands down the best I've had from a restaurant probably ever. It's the real deal and absolutely delicious! Oddly enough, the green onion pancakes had the lightest of flavor. I'll probably try something else like the Spring Rolls in lieu of the pancakes next time. And there WILL be a next time.

Amazing place and great food!

Very small space but clean, and the gentlemen running it are extremely kind. We got shrimp and pork dumplings, green onion pancakes, crab rangoon (you get six; I had tried one before I took a pic) and beef noodle soup. Everything was delicious. The crab rangoon was light and crispy and had a good amount of crab, not almost all cream cheese like some places. My husband loved the sear on his dumplings. I liked that they packaged the noodles and vegetables separate from the broth. Prices are very fair for the portion sizes, which are nice as well. Definitely will be back again.

Oh my goodness, this place is outstanding! Everything is so, so fresh and delicious. Highlights include the pork dumplings, scallion pancake (with extra hoisin sauce) and shrimp chow mein! The owners (who double as the operators) are super kind and friendly, as well. There's a comfortable waiting area if you walk in and place your order, as well. I can't wait to go back!

My kids and I stopped in on the way to a doctors appointment and we are so happy we found TJs Shanghai Dumplings. We ordered the wontons, dumplings, noodles and the scallion pancake. We ended up chatting with the owner and he was so kind to my kids and I. Everything was so delicious! We ended up having leftovers and ended up eating more in the car before we got to the appointment! We can’t wait to go back!

Love the dumplings here! Everything is made to order, so that's really nice. The owner seems nice to talk to & food is quick. This is more of a take out place than sit down. They have a few chairs at the bar, but don't expect anything fancy.

I cannot say enough how polite the gentlemen at this restaurant are. All the food is made fresh right after you order and it is beyond delicious. Less than a week after the first visit and we’re already back.

Updated: still amazing, beef noodles are decent! Lotta bochoy, TON of soup for what you pay. Like I couldn't use a regular bowl. Wontons are amazing too.

Wow, this was a phenomenal meal. Some of the best dumplings I've had in a while, hands down. Same thing with the spring rolls, super crunchy! The pancake was gas too so crunchy. And it was served super hot which was excellent too. Crab rabgoon texture was a bit firmer than I would have liked, like it needed less cream cheese or that the cream cheese cooked too long, still delicious. Will definitely be going back soon, highly recommended if you want quality dumplings.

This hidden jem is an absolute must! Everything from the chicken dumplings to crab rangoon to green onion pancakes are absolutely amazing! To add the service is absolutely amazing and everything was fresh made to order. I will definitely be going back soon and bringing lots of friends.

Yummy in my tummy!!! I came by on a whim and I'm so happy I did. I got a lunch combo, Chicken dumpling w crab ragoon plus scallion pancakes. Omg! These are real deal dumplings! So fresh! I sat in my car and enjoyed myself!🤣 The guys working were very friendly, fast, and helpful. I'm definitely telling others and coming back!! A short wait (5min) because it's freshly made. No problem for me I just chatted with a new customer.👍🏿

What an incredible find! Absolutely wonderful family who are genuinely gracious and excited about their food. I tried the pork potstickers, chicken potstickers, and shrimp lo mein. Everything was beautifully cooked & seasoned (I added hot sauce at home, but that’s personal preference). Highly recommended.

I ordered beef noodles - would need to add salt, but portion size was very fair and there were a lot of bok choy included - great!

The food is amazing, they really put their soul into the food they make caring about every detail to make sure it tastes the best it can. Honestly I don’t have one bad thing to say about this place. The owners are great people. Stay away from China 1!!! Haha appreciate you guys!!!

The staff were so kind. The dumplings are made fresh daily and I think this is the first time I could actually taste the crab in a crab ragoon. I really felt like I was welcomed there.

I love to try any authentic places when possible and I can confidently say I am so happy I ordered my lunch from here the other day. The staff were incredibly wholesome and nice, I had both chicken and pork dumplings, as well as a green onion pancake (pictured below). The dumplings were stellar, but what really surprised me was how amazing this pancake was. You HAVE to try their green onion or scallion pancake!!

Staying at a friend's house and this place was only a block away. My friend had never had it so I figured it was worth a try from the reviews and boy was I right. We got the green onion pancakes, pork wontons, pork dumplings, and crab ragoons. Everything was amazing. Honestly every single thing we had was the best I have ever had. The pork filling in the dumplings and wonton was delicious, the dumplings were seared perfectly and the wonton were fried perfectly. The green onion pancake was spectacular and the crab rangoons had the best filling ever. Not to mention the two guys running the place were super friendly. When I told them to keep the change they tried to refuse and when I insisted they offered for me to grab a free coke. Will definitely be back everytime I visit.

The service was soooo goood. This was my first time here. All the staff help me decide what I wanted, catered to me while I waited, and brought my food out to me! The food is amazing as well! I will be back. Thank you!!
