Quail Creek Hiking and Mountain Bike Trail

Quail Creek has a number of hiking trails around it but the best is on the backside of the reservoir. To access this area, you turn toward the lake from route 9. Make a right onto a dirt road (good for most vehicles) before the water treatment plant. Follow the road along the fencing and make another right. Keep going to reach a parking area. About a mile. The trail climbs the hill and winds it's way around to the north dam. Beautiful scenery. Out and back hike around 4 miles total. Good hike for children and dogs. Parts of the trail also used for mountain bikes.

Fun trail. Not too hard. Great for whole family. My son doesn't really love mountain biking but he had fun on the Twist and Shout trail.

I love this trail. Going up it is a good work out. Coming back is fast a following. Couple of spot you have to be careful. You can pop out to the road in the middle of it as well. Ride the road back 5th o your car.

Beautiful trails with lots of great hiking and riding. Keep in mind that this area gets very busy over the summer, so be sure to arrive early if you hope to find parking.

Wonderful views quick getaway

Pretty fun trail.

I hiked up to look over the reservoir. There are beautiful views in all directions. I even saw two quail at the top. The 'trail' is difficult to track.

Varying trail levels with narrow mountain bike trails, only draw back was all of the goat heads. By the end of the ride I have over 10 in my back wheel alone!

This isn't a "fun" trail, but it's challenging despite the short distance. The trail has plenty of twisty technical sections. I don't recommend this trail for beginners or children, but it's a good test to see how tight you can turn, how well you can clean rock gardens, and how many times you can adjust your seat height (there's a schizophrenic amount of grade changes).
