I shop at Walgreens often and the employees at the Owatonna location are the absolute best! They are friendly and go above and beyond to be helpful! They keep suckers at the photo counter for kids and remember my children's names when we come in! I can't say enough good things about Owatonna Walgreens!

Extremely fast service in photo department. I was at the store my wife uploaded some photos from home, while I was there. Boom they were done within 5 minutes or less. We use the app so it's is very easy to upload from your phone.

The pharmacy is very helpful and also has fast service. They have a convenient drive thru as well.

Employees are always nice and helpful. The pharmacy has been great most of the time. While the pharmacy more expensive, sometimes double the price for HyVee or Walmart, the experience is better.

The only reason 4 instead of 5 is for clearance items not ringing up correctly multiple times. Check receipts! Otherwise a wonderful experience every single time!!!

I normally don’t have any problems with this Walgreens- I normally go to the one in Albert Lea but occasionally use this one in Owatonna when I’m in the area.

That said, today I came across someone on the phone with the customer service accumen of a goblin/troll hybrid. Not fun when trying to deal with our lemon of a health care system.

And heads up- Walgreens will not transfer a controlled medication from one location to another even close- under any circumstance.

But even more annoying is this: they won’t transfer a medication that isn’t controlled but will be at some undefined future date! For example- they will not transfer gabapentin despite the fact that it has not historically been a controlled medication. I’ve had this medication transferred without any problems and this was fairly recent.

But today the troll told me gruffly that they will treat it like it’s controlled since it’s “going to be” and basically ran me off the phone before I could ask about it any further.

Attn: Pharmacy
The Hippocratic oath you swore you'd uphold goes
I will consider the welfare of humanity and relief of suffering my primary concerns.
I will apply my knowledge, experience, and skills to the Best of My Ability to insure optimal outcomes for all my patients.
I will protect and respect all personal and health information entrusted to me.
This location really falters on the second part.
Today the Pharmacy technician said they were out of a certain medication, but when she was asked to double check with the pharmacist, she very reluctantly did so and sure enough the location here had it in stock. The Pharmacy tech took a Hippocratic oath to apply knowledge, experience and skills but we were told they were out of stock and then told to start calling around to other locations. This has happened here a few times now and my advice to those in need of their life saving medication is to speak directly with the pharmacist on duty. And my advice to the Pharmacy technician or Corporate office is to remember the Oath you swore on to uphold and honor. Don't redirect your customers business to your competitors or other locations. And don't lie just because your a little busy and want your customers off the phone. Remember we are ultimately your paycheck and you choose this career to help Not Hinder your fellow Human beings. Thanks to those that read this.

I have been using Walgreens pharmacy in Owatonna for over 10 years. I had become accustomed to excellent customer service provided by Carla and another long term wonderful pharmacy staff member. (Don’t recall her name) The level of customer service during that time had been above expectations until recently. In the past 6 months the pharmacy staff has changed. Not including the pharmacists the new staff are rude, short, and not personable at least 75 percent of the time. If my business is too much of a bother for them I will gladly go elsewhere.

If you want to have a horrible costomer experience from incompetent and arrogant pharmacy technicians this is the place to come. Not only do these people not help you with anything they claimed that they are very "busy". That was a blatant lie. I called from outside the store, went inside and not a single person was inside or in line. I asked them to transfer medication from another walgreens and they said they couldn't do that. And they didn't know why and gave me all these excuses. So i asked them if they could call the other store to help resolve the issue and they refused... The lack of willingness to help out patients and customers is absolutely amazing. I have no idea how these people still work their. They lack of respect they have for customers is disappointing. This place was such a great store, but these poor excuses for "Pharmacy Technician's" have absolutely ruined the helpful and caring experience I use to know. Something needs to change.

Im not one to wright reviews but this is one of the worst place places to transfer and get prescriptions from. I tried simply transferring my scrips from another walgreens and they had me going back and forth looking for my updated script. I would not recommend going to this place. They can't even assist you in calling for a med refill. This is a good example of a lazy work place! 1/10

Went in to Walgreens in Owatonna while waiting for the 4th of July fireworks with my small daughter who badly had to use the restroom. Before we even got completely in the door or said anything, we were rudely told that the bathrooms were closed down. I asked if it would be okay if she used the restroom if I made a purchase? Which had always been my intention as I understand businesses generally reserve the use of restrooms to paying customers. The man working said, “no, the restrooms are closed.” All the whole my poor daughter was doing a potty dance in the store. I simply turned around with her and left, voicing my displeasure about making a little girl have an accident for their own convenience. I then had to run with her across two very busy roads and several blocks away to a nearby gas station. It was more important the workers not have to deal with cleaning bathrooms than to be kind to a poor toddler who was doing her best not to have an accident. I used to have all my prescriptions filled at Walgreens. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. Very poor!!

Bought a Walgreens gift card on December 2021. $30.00 Giftcard does not work at all. Was told that I needed a receipt to get a different card. No other solution given. Way to go Walgreens.
