I cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful tailoring that Nani did on my beaded saree blouse at Sunanda Kumar! I communicated with Beauty over the phone when I desperate for help days before a wedding for an item I ordered online that required significant taking in. The customer service was phenomenal and the stellar results speak for themselves! This location is better than any place you’d find in Manhattan and worth taking the PATH train and the brief walk to get to their storefront. I will most certainly be shopping here for my next Indian event!

Literally dropped in from Alabama and needed an outfit for wedding. entire staff was so friendly and helpful- my husband had the perfect fit and style and we were out in 15 min. I bought a wrap! Beautiful clothes and affordable- a must stop to accommodate your needs!!!

I was looking for something to for my cousin engagement party and my mom’s suggest me to get dressed from Sunanda Kumar - Indian Clothing store as soon I went just loved there alll collection of Indian dresses . I got bit confused with picking but then store owner help me pick it . Customer service was great 😊 I highly recommend this store if you are looking for Indian outfits

Went here to get some last minute extras for my wedding outfit and the shop owners were super helpful with finding matching designs for us, complete with shoes. The prices are also quite reasonable, especially considering the high quality and the staff was very friendly and willing to work with us for providing opinions on future modifications we were contemplating. Overall, i would definitely come back for my clothing needs!

I’ve used Sunanda’s shop for 2 Indian wedding weekends in the past 6 months and I would highly recommend it! I was initially hesitant going shopping, but Sunanda makes you feel right at home. She and the other staff are all very nice and knowledgeable. And don’t be fooled by the small size of the shop! It is VERY well stocked with high quality items of varying styles, colors, and price points and she gets new things in frequently. Everything can be custom tailored and finished to fit perfectly. Beautiful shop and the store owner is so helpful. Took me a while to review but I had to come back and show off my silver anklets. If you want the real thing at a good price pay them a visit

I was able to come in and purchase a lehenga last minute for a wedding and Beauty was even able to tailor it in less than 2 hours! There is a wide selection and will work within your budget. Very helpful if you don’t know what you are looking for. Highly recommend.

Visited the store in hopes of finding a Sari for a wedding I am attending in Chennai. The staff was so helpful in guiding me on what was best to wear and spent more than an hour with me trying on different options. Customer service is exceptional! I purchased two half Saris that needed to be tailored and both were a perfect fit with a fast turnaround. Couldn’t thank them enough!

Amazing time at Sunanda Kumar. Beauty and Nani helped my husband and I find our outfits for an Indian wedding. They were so patient with us and worked really hard to find us BOTH outfits that we were happy with. It took a lot of trial and error but they got us the perfect outfits, and we are so excited to attend the wedding.

This was a fantastic store staffed by three generations of women. I went with my friend who needed outfits to attend an Indian wedding. She doesn't love shopping for clothing and generally avoids the experience. She has a fuller figure so some stores don't carry the correct size or understand how to properly showcase anyone who isn't a 12 or smaller. They couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful. Truly some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. She has never worn this style of clothing before and wanted to be respectful. They made her feel very comfortable and showed her how to style the scarves and accessories. And gave us a quick dance lesson.

They did a few minor alterations to her outfits while we had samosas from the shop next door. This was very thoughtful as we came from over 2 hours away and now wouldn't need to drive back before the wedding to pick up her garments.

What they showed her was extremely flattering for her body and she really looked fantastic. I bought a beautiful cotton outfit that I will add into my daily wardrobe. They completely understand how to dress the entire range of sizes in the most flattering way for many different body types and were very happy to be inclusive to non indian women as well. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
