I love the new wide open off trail fat bike areas east and west and north of the Gateway Trail end.
If you not wanting danger of technical then the stamina of these hills and drops are what you need. Very challenging but worth it. No pics of fantastic terrain so go see for yourself before the snowfall.

Lovely place to hike in serene, quiet setting close to the Twin Cities. Beautiful large pine trees lining the hiking paths.

This is my favorite Washington County park. It has great trails and a cool pine plantation forest. I'm excited to try out the cross country skiing this winter. The Gateway trail starts here.

Nice little park at the end of the Gateway Trail. We ate our lunch here before our return trip on the Gateway Trail. Highly recommend the trail - scenic, even in very late fall, well-maintained, lots of benches and porta potties for stops if needed.

Excellent destination point for bike trails starting in Stillwater, have biked here and picnicked several times. There are always majestic horses in the area and can be seen along the trails while biking. Usually just a rest stop for me so I'm not familiar with the entire park but it's definitely been a great location for my purposes, using the restroom and refueling with some food and even a beer once or twice

What a wonderful walk through the woods. We even had the pleasure of seeing a bald eagle perched above us searching for breakfast! So Thankful for all of the new trails. Lots of people on bikes, horseback and foot! Thank you for preserving this beautiful spot for our family to enjoy!

A beautiful place to unwind in nature with many trails, including the Gateway Trail running through it. Visit in the spring and if you're fortunate hear a frog chorus near one of the ponds.

We ride the gateway trail in the summer up to Pine Point. We live in Maplewood and the Bruce Vento trail runs through our back yard. We ride two blocks and we're on the Gateway trail.

With the new Browns Creek trail we have choices. Great riding trails. Well maintained and not super busy unless you ride at peak times.

No free park deserves less than 5 stars... However, I don't think the dog and I will be hiking here again.

Saw some deer and had a good walk, but the trails seemed more geared toward biking or a trail ride kind of experience.

A hilly pine forest with great trails for people, pups, and ponies. Easy trail signage so you won't get lost. A couple lakes and ponds along the way. Groomed cross country trails in the winter, so limited trails for walkers in the winter.

This is a great little park! The park's main attraction is that the gateway trail starts here. It has a big parking lot and a couple of bathrooms so you can prepare for your ride, but that's about all the park has to offer

Great access to Gateway Trail for bikes and horses; and easy connect with scenic Brown's Creek Trail which hooks up with touristy Stillwater.
