I've lived here my entire life passed this place a thousand times and finally went in...one of life's regrets is not trying to sooner. Everything was perfect from the second you walk in.

I had the Veal Luciana, hands down the best I've ever had. This is one of my top dish life time. You have to give them a try. The house salad was also out of this word, I could have got two of those and been satisfied with my meal. Simply delicious.

Great service and quick food delivery. Everything and everyone was on point.

Prices were right on with what you get for a meal. Excellent flavor.

Great italian dishes with some vegetarian options. I ordered spaghetti with meatballs, and it was awesome. My wife ordered the eggplant Parmesan and we both loved it.

Oh my goodness... Best Italian cuisine in the Capital Region. Service is exceptional. Food... Flavors... Everything was simply exceptional. Maria, one of the owners, manages to find time to connect with her customers on top of making sure everything is running smoothly. You can feel the sense of pride and love in their meals and in their service.

SENSATIONAL. From the beginning, the staff was super friendly and attentive. The bread and oil was delicious and had a bit of a crunch and heat to it. We ordered two Peroni beers and they brought out chilled glasses for them (amazing). For start, our meals came with a soup or salad. I got a salad with the tomato basil dressing and it was THE BEST salad dressing I've ever had. He mentioned several other dressings and they all sounded home-made so this felt no different. My boyfriend got the soup of the day, which was a seafood chowder. I tried it and it was AMAZING. I'm not normally a chowder person, but this was nice and thin and creamy, not too thick. I got the lobster ravioli which was absolutely stellar. It tasted home made to me and I'm convinced it was. If not, they got it from the best distributor around. My boyfriend got the chicken francese and it was, to quote him, "twice as good as the best francese I've ever had". The place is very small, so reservations are definitely recommended. We won't be eating any other Italian place. This was amazing.

We recently happily dined at Café Italia for a special occasion. Many happy memories arose. While the menu has changed, their cuisine is still excellent. Maria has command of the floor and heads a thorough brigade. Café Italia still has its intimate charm, snug seating and delectable courses - “the Romeo Way” continues.

Caffè Italia

Best Italian food in the region! 🤤
I was invited here from a friend who haven’t been here for a while. we ordered our food and everything was very good and I really enjoyed the delicious Italian taste and conversation with my friend.

My five star ⭐ for this place is inly for taste and chef’s 👨‍🍳

Few things need to improve for this restaurant;
• There’s no parking 🅿 for this restaurant and you have to find spot on the street, and unfortunately street parking isn’t available all the time.
• menu needs improvement, they had especial menu for Friday but wasn’t on the table and explained by servers.
• price on the menu isn’t reasonable and dessert menu wasn’t available.
• interior design of restaurant is so basic, if you are serving a delicious Italian taste at your place you must present Italian atmosphere.

Fingers crossed for improvement🤞

Place was busy at 5:30 so the only seating option was outside facing a very busy noisy Central avenue. Food and service were both fantastic!

What a surprise. Such an incredible restaurant in an area of Central Avenue not known for dine dining.

The chef takes pride in their dishes. The food was fantastic and didn't take as long as you'd expect from what clearly was from-scratch dinners.

We were seated quickly on a Friday without a reservation (party of 3). Upon being seated, we were immediately served hot, fresh bread and a dish of oil and seasoning.

The prices were a tad higher than expected, but the service and experience was well worth it.

No parking lot, but it wasn't difficult to find on-street spots relatively close by.

Wonderful birthday dinner with my family. It was my first visit and I am a forever fan. For me, it always comes down to the quality of the marinara. Amazingly delicious and simply elegant tomato profile…not overdone like other local establishments that use overwhelmingly bold flavors. Portions are large and shareable. The gorgonzola gnocchi was the star of the night and the evoo bread dip was addicting. Wait staff are genuinely friendly and accommodating. The service was impressive and well-coordinated. Cozy and warm family style atmosphere that reminded me so much of my mother-in-law’s kitchen…right down to the footed coffee mugs. I absolutely love this place and am wishing them all good things as they transition to their new space in Guilderland. We’re already planning our next visit! Do yourself a favor and dine at Caffe Italia!

My wife and I had dinner here last month for anniversary and wanted to go to a very fine place. We we a little skeptical given the location and smallish size of the restaurant, but, boy, we were not disappointed! The food was outstanding; fine cuisine, all handmade and traditional. The homemade desserts made this seemingly perfect meal that much better. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

My wife and I were in town, decided to call ahead and check this place out. They had reservations all night indoors which we expected. They then stated we could sit outside and would be seated right away (Beautiful weather Saturday night).

The staff was prompt, attentive, caring, and truly this place felt that warm and soulful Italian restaurant. The food was AMAZING. I live on Long Island where Italian food is literally everywhere. Caffe Italia was the best food I have had in years. Price was worth it because you got the portion with way above quality tastes & flavors. Desserts were also home made. If we could go back to this restaurant weekly we would! If we are in the area again 150% we will be dining again!

Unbelievable! I’ve never seen my husband eat so much!! Old school Italian food and service. So refreshing to see a restaurant go the extra mile from chilled beer glasses and salad plates to warm bread and warmed chocolate cake that is made in-house. Love, love it all!!

Went here last week for our anniversary dinner. The place is very small (can only fit around 8 tables) but very quaint. We were seated in a small cubical near the window. Although a bit of a tight fit, we enjoyed having the window view. Our server, who informed us that she was also one of the owners was very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed buying a bottle of wine and some appetizers to start. We had the meatballs and clams casino. The meatballs and their homemade sauce (which they sell jars of there) was fabulous. It tasted as homemade and fresh as my grandfather used to make. The clam casinos were good, but nothing that stood out. We both decided to go with the chicken parm which you could cut with a butter knife. We were served very large portions that became lunch the next day as well. Dessert is what moved this review from a 4 star to a 5 star. Their lemon ricotta cheesecake was the best dessert I think I ever had. It was creamy, rich and fresh. I enjoyed it more with every bite. I would come back just for that alone- it is a must try if you are here. We are frequent flyers of NYC little italy, and while this food matches the quality you get down there, the ricotta cheesecake is top notch and even better than I have had before. We will be coming back.

Just a classic spot. Great service from the entire staff. Great food. When it comes to Italian restaurants we only like a few. This is one of them.

Great food and staff, but too loud to converse comfortably with your dinner partners.

This is a classic old Albany Italian restaurant. It's tight inside, with greeting by the door next to tables, and the server's station in the dining area also. One feature that has been added since Covid is an outdoor seating area with a canopy, which has luckily added to their capacity. We hadn't been here in probably 3 years but we immediately recognized our greeter, who appeared to be the front of house manager. Obviously staff are satisfied there; they are experienced, professional and seamless. We were looking for a few old favorite dishes, and although they have reduced the size of the menu, the server didn't hesitate to assure us the kitchen could make whatever we wanted. We had eggplant rollatini as an appetizer, which is still heavenly. They also made up a fresh bowl of pasta fagiole upon request which was broth light but flavor full, if you will. Entrees still come with a salad. The greens were very fresh, and everyone enjoyed their choice of dressing -- gorgonzola, tomato basil, and Italian. Entrees to order were veal saltimbocca, veal Quatro stagione (four seasons) with spinach, artichokes, roasted red peppers and pepperoncini. One of the specials was veal bruschetta, a breaded veal cutlet with a white wine sauce and bruschetta topping. Rounding out our entrees was pasta carbonara, perfectly prepared. We were stuffed but opted for filled to order mini cannolis, crisp and delicious. This is not a mom and pop establishment with comparable prices, but if you desire a truly Italian bistro meal with service and food top notch, this is for you.

I haven't eaten here but the atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. I deliver vegan Italuan bread to them. They have a friendly staff.
