I have not been to this location but I have bought and tried their mead at several popups! It was AMAZING and very versatile. I’ve made cocktails with it and also just enjoyed it as is. Definitely a fan over here!

I saw the Bull and Bee tasting table I tried some “sweet Meade” delicious!
(They were set up at the Albany, capitol, concourse, farmers market)

I was invited to come the tasting room just a few blocks away later that evening.
A friend of mine was coming to visit the Albany area that night and we were looking for a “good time, experience” to enjoy together. This was perfect!

We started our night at the Bull and Bee tasting room. We ordered flights of Meade, we tried a bunch of flavors. We tried Coffee, spicy, sweet, classic… and more. Amazing! And delicious!

Upon entering the tasting room, we were greeted by the bartender/owner Ray. An amazing and welcoming soul. We got to talking about the different flavors that they offer and their bottling process. Right from the beginning we were treated as though we were already friends/family and felt like we had known each other for years.

Stopping at the bull and bee and starting our night here was a catalyst beginning to one of the best nights I have had in years, there was a concert venue just down the street that was having a metal show which complemented the mead that we had purchased from the tasting room perfectly.

I came back the very next day and bought a couple bottles.

Delicious product, highly recommended. Perfect location, warm inviting atmosphere.

10/10 thanks!

Wonderful first experience. Tucked away off of Madison Ave, it'd be hard to miss if it weren't for the huge beautiful mural on the one side of the building. Friendly, knowledgeable bartender and easy to talk to about the variety of meads available. I got a flight and loved the variety of flavors. They ranging from honey sweet, dry and spicy! Quiet metal music playing in the background added to the Viking/Grecian vibe. Cool to hear the history of the building. A great addition to the neighborhood. Looking forward to going back.

I've been looking forward to this establishment opening and I was not disappointed. The staff was friendly and pleasant, chatty without overstaying their welcome. The meads were delicious and varied, and the beers were local or regional.
Seating inside was cozy but well-spaced, and outdoor seating was generous. The music ran a great playlist of new and classic rock; "Sympathy for the Devil" rolled as we soaked up the warm spring breeze on some robust metal chairs. Their were even some very diesel benches and stools along the building, trying to maximize the space. Street parking was ample, just pull around the corner and sidle along the curb, but watch the cobblestones if you're sporting heels.
Their house mead, "The Muse," was light and sweet, a glass of afternoon sunshine offering a floral bouquet with hints of licorice, reminiscent of Sambuca. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.
Overall, the ambiance here is casual and secluded-- great for a date where you've lost three hours chatting before you even realize it. It's a treasure in the downtown space that I hope we get to enjoy for years to come. Why not go buy drink and help make sure that happens.

What a great place. On a whim we stopped there as we were curious about trying mead. We ended up playing the trivia that is there every Sunday and our team won and walked away with a bottle of mead. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Albany.

Very nice place to try some different kinds of mead. Very clean and staff very polite. Was my 1st time here. The bartender Ray was very helpful to tell me about all the different types of drinks. I must have tried 5 or 6 different types. There were two or three I really liked. I will be back to try some more again for sure.. nice to know that they have gluten free drinks for the people that can not have gluten.

Enjoy how quite this place typically is when we go. The mead is the best around, it is made with lots of love and attention.

Had a great visit here for the first time. Knowledgeable staff explained the whole process of making mead and walked us through a couple of flights. Be prepared, mead is fairly sweet tasting (fermented honey, makes sense!). I absolutely loved their "genesis" and the mint chocolate chip flavor profiles. Not crowded, and I definitely took advantage of the unlimited fresh popcorn! Also had some local breweries on tap. Small and cozy atmosphere. Glad we came!

Didn't eat. Had a couple drinks and listened to the acoustic guitar player. Had a nice chill time. Colorful clientele. Try Joy Mead.

My wife and I stopped in on an unusually hot afternoon. The spot was cool, inviting and the meads were very tasty! Ray was working the bar and extremely helpful and informative. Not only did he explain the mead varieties and ingredients very well, but he was also knowledgeable about the local beer selections they offered, many of which are available in cans from the cooler.

Overall it was a little gem of a find and we will recommend it to our friends and family when they visit Albany. I recommend stopping by to all others as well.

This place is absolutely fantastic. My fiancé and I went in for a tasting and it was the first time in my life that I have ever wanted to buy a few bottles of what we tried. Highly recommend it!

My very first mead tasting experience. What a delight! This is a small neighborhood treasure. Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
Ali, the batista was so kind and patient, she passionately explained to me all the mead making process and different flavore profiles. Ali also, patiently answered all my questions and made me feel so welcome.
Thank you for the unforgettable experience, I'll be back on my next layover.

Really delicious mead with friendly, knowledgeable staff! It's also really great how they feature so many other local craft beverage producers as well with a decent selection of local beers available and local spirits in their mixed drinks.

Excellent mead and great flight deal for $10! Bar tender was also awesome and they have board games available too. Keep in mind they have no food options in house, although you can order in through a neighboring restaurant.

Great place for local mead and craft beer. They have a great selection of meads that they make in house. Would definitely recommend trying one of their meads. Each one I tried was delicious and the bartender/brewer is really knowledgeable and passionate about what he makes and will steer you towards something you’d like if mead is new to you.

If mead is not your thing they have plenty of craft beers from the area as well as local wines, liquor and cider. So no matter who you bring they will find something they can drink.

The place itself is nice and clean with a nice sized bar as well as several tables. They have a selection of board games as well. The only thing to note is that they do not offer any food as of writing this. So make sure to eat before.

Overall great local meadery that’s worth visiting especially if you never had mead before.

Note this review is based on a Yelp sponsored event

The bar is located in downtown Albany tucked away in a corner intersection of Hamilton and Phillip St. The bar is in a historic building know as Bulgaro building where fights similar to MMA were hosted.

Everytime Caitlin, community manager hosts an event, I learn something new. I had no clue what a Mead was, Mead is a fermented beverage traditionally made from honey, water and a yeast or bacterial culture. Sometimes called "the drink of the gods", I got to try the Zeus juice and Jalapeño mead.

While I don't drink, I got to taste mead, and this is similar to kombucha, with an ABV at ~13%. With some drinks there was salad and pizza from Cafe Capriccio which was amazing.

May be when my friends or cousins come over I'll bring them here to taste some local mead.

The bartenders were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
