As an aging Vietnam war veteran I want to say some positive things about the Hamilton County Veterans Service Commission. I have interacted with Calvin Wooten, Kevin Ott, Pamela and James Massey and all my interactions have been over and above expectations. These people will take the time to listen and are compassionate with doing all they can to help our veterans. The commission in whole is dedicated to helping veterans with occasional needs to get by. Kevin and James are especially knowledgeable and understand the process of helping Hamilton County's veterans with their disability claims, so please, put your trust in these people. God bless America......Ed Clock, Fourth Infantry Division, United States Army

I have had a good experience working with Hamilton County Veteran's Services. I found myself in need of help with my rent while at the same time being in the grip of Covid 19. The staff I talked to was helpful and respectful and concisely described the information I needed to send to them. I faxed the application and paperwork to their office and I was promptly approved for the help I needed. Kudos to HCVS.

I have been coming to the Veterans Affairs of Hamilton County for over 20 years the woman at the desk, Nupitia is a wonderful person. She has been there for a long time. Professionalism and knowledge of the VA Systems are astonishing.
All that I have needed to live a quality of after the death (murder)of my husband, a veteran who served in the Saudi Arabia war Desert Storm Desert Shield, has been fulfilled. All of the Commissioners inside of this establishment are devoted to assisting us and anything that we need that has to do with claims hardships and any Iother assistance that they can give us. The secretary deals with a lot of things in order to get us through she is the gatekeeper and she definitely has had negative views which should not be she doesn't have time for emotion she only has time to take care of the business that is at hand and this here has been the only person that can assist us before we go to the next chain of command I would like for everyone to know that I wouldn't change the secretary for nothing she gives it to you Raw and does not hesitate at all to assist. All of those who come in have mental issues physical issues and a lot of hardship which causes her job to be very demanding all I know is that she's a good person and everyone there works with us according to Who We Are and according to protocol. Give veterans affairs a chance to assist us or you of your issues or problems that has to do with the veterans association because that's what they're there for and be patient as they are doing all that it takes to help.

I have spoken to several people in this office in preparation for my dad’s upcoming appointment, when a VSO will teleconference with us to obtain his benefits. Very courteous and helpful!

Over the span of several years I’ve had my case(s) assigned to different service officers. Each has communicated their requirements & organizational policies in a clear & concise manner. I appreciate they’re responsible for servicing a large population of us veterans & things sometimes are hectic for them. However I’ve found in my experiences that with correct documentation & complying with policies in place. This Veterans Service Commission their staff & by extension Hamilton county has assisted this veteran realize all the benefits of its program.

Over the last few years I've been turned down for assistance only to file appeal and ultimately win . This has happened four times now, all with one person in common. Calvin Wooten. He is a disgusting individual and should be fired immediately. After four successful appeals , the question is why was I turned down in the beginning. I presented the same information so why was I turned down only to be granted assistance. Makes ZERO SENSE!!!!!. Makes you wonder about the 31 million that was sent back to the county.

Some of the people in this office need to find something else they’re better at. This place completely changed my view of the VSO. Ive had similar experience's at other County VSO’s but Hamilton is the worst if you want rude and incompetent people handling your claim then go ahead and waste your time with this place.
