Beartown Lakes Reservation

The main lake is extremely clear. There are several sturdy docks. Trails are clean and well marked. Wildlife is abundant. Birds, squirrels and an owl was making itself known. Came to fish, will be back to hike.

A cold wintry stay-at-home day sat me down in front of the computer to search for trails. My search brought up Beartown Lakes Reservation. A nice find and close to home. I visited on a sunny but cool late February day before growth, but the trail was very active that Sunday afternoon. Many dog walkers, all eager to stop and talk and of course each BFF was eager for a pat on the head. The paved multi-use trail around the lake was enjoyable. Trails off the multi-use trail into the woods gave therapy being in a natural environment. Many benches for respit along the trails, and the park has places to to picnic or box lunch to make your visit complete. This is a park to enjoy!

I took my boys 4 and 7 to BearTown Lake to fish. They caught 2 small trout and 4 sunfish in 2 hours. They thought it was great! There are some spots along the shores to fish from, but they were getting caught up in the weeds and losing bait too much. The docks are great, just keep an eye on the little guys if they're not used to the docks without railings. I would love to get out on the lake with a kayak or small row boat.

Great quiet place, nice trails

Amazing as always! I went there to wrap presents for my daughters, which is where I used to take them before my ex wife started alienating me in what has now been a two year ongoing stint of parental alienation. Today there were two beautiful blue herons, strutting around and showing off air winged culture. This park is beautiful and a great place to make memories!

Been fishing with my son over here, great little park , we’ll groomed trails and some nice fishing. The restrooms are a little rough, they have drinking fountains & a water hydrant right outside the restrooms but none in the facilities as of yet, hopefully that’s in the plans?
Even with that , this is still one of my favorite parks.

Great place to walk. Well maintained. Has bathrooms, pavilion, tether ball and a good place to fish. Paithed and wood paths.

Beautiful small park, but the trails are actually pretty long and beginner level so all can enjoy them. I grew up coming here weekly and it is always a treat and so relaxing to come here when I do now.

Bear Town is just a great place to walk. The people who go there are so friendly. My husband and I have always walked there.

Great trails and lots of wildlife

Hidden gem. You can walk on paved or bridle trails, sit next to the lake, fish, or grill in one of the pavilions. Very few people compared to many other parks.

Very quiet and serene trails and views. People were fishing the lakes as well. Several small and large pavilions for picnics.

Nice, quiet park for walking or fishing.

First time here, and we enjoyed it. The Geauga parks do a great job with maintenance and cleanliness. We brought the dog and hiked all the trails. Scenery was great, trails were very well maintained. We really liked walking on the boardwalk over the pond. Saw some turtles and frogs. We went during a weekday afternoon, and it was not crowded.

Beautiful grounds, there's a sledding hill walking trails!

My family does frequent nature walks and birding here. It's got a number of well maintained though shorter paths. It's usually got a fair number of people so not really secluded. It loses one star for not actually having bears. It gains the star back because I can sing "bear town" to the tune of TMBG's "Cowtown" every time I go there.

This park is a hidden gem. Low key, clean, and dog friendly 👍🏼

Just happened to be in Chagrin Falls, OH for business and an individual recommended hiking in this area so we took him up on the recommendation. Very glad we did. Only hiked one trail but it was very nice. Clean well taken care of and such a beautiful lake surrounding. Great place to picnic, fish, hike out just chill and take in the beauty. Will stop again if in this area to try another hiking trail or just have a day of whatever!
