I am a big fan of Nash & Proper. I’ve bee. Following then since they were only in a truck.

The best chicken in Sacramento! I don’t care if you get hot, naked, or downright Cluckin’ hot. This chicken is the best in town. Their pickles are perfect for the heat and slaw is great as well.

Amazing chicken sandwiches, sides, pickled slaw, chicken to-go. Heat comes in ranges from none to blazing hot. Authentic hot spicy chicken, perfectly done. Right amount of heat, plenty to eat for the serving sizes. Come check them out, you will not be disappointed, amazing food.

The fried chicken here is amazing. Very flavorful, huge portions and customizable from no spicyness to good luck to you heat! I've found a new favorite chicken sandwich, so good and juicy.. Prices are a little on the high side but totally worth it.

Good fried chicken sandwich.. the chicken has the perfect amount of crunch on the outside and juice on the inside!! I got the medium and the spice level was good! I would definitely go spicier next time!!

I anxiously awaited the opening of this place...then Covid hit. I'm back to work downtown, and they're now open...and it was well worth the wait! The size of the chicken is INSANE, but that is nothing compared to the flavor. They bring the heat to what is the most tender, tasty chicken you could have. Next time (and there surely will be a next time) I'm going in on one of the chicken sandwiches!

Best fried chicken in sac. Different spice levels mean there's a flavor for everybody. Damn good hot chicken, just wish they served grits.

Nash & Proper is my favorite place to satisfy my flavorful spicy chicken sandwich craving (no other place compares). Staff's very friendly and the location is convenient. The only complaint is that their website presents confusing hours of operation, but confirmed they close at 9pm on Saturdays. I decided not to patronize the restaurant on several occasions due to thinking they closed much earlier.

The fries are downright awful, it's almost laughable how bad they are.
And the quality of sides fluctuates constantly.
But the chicken, 1000% of the time is on point. They have mastered that method. Medium spice quarter bird with a side of pickles and ranch. The perfect order.

Spicy roulette! Always check the labels, I've ordered from here 4 maybe 5 times they always get the order right but the labels are ALWAYS mislabeled. The hot is always mild or medium and vice versa. EVERY. TIME. It's honestly funny at this point. We order 4 or 5 sandwiches with spicy options varying from mild to Clucken (extremely hot) and see who is getting the clucken hot. Now the clucken hot is REALLY hot. To give you an idea, my grandma was the spicy roulette recipient of the clucken hot after ordering medium. She woke up in the middle of the night and called 911 because her heart burn was so bad she thought she was having a heart attack. She said the ambulance crew was going to check her vitals but instead smelled the air, winched and inquired if she had anything spicy for dinner. We all had a good laugh over it. Last time our neighbor lost and thought he had an allergic reaction since he couldn't stop sweating. I personally lost spicy chicken roulette today and cannot leave the toilet after I got the clucken hot ( I ordered medium) which is why I have time to write this lengthy review. They make a great chicken sandwich here. I was pleasantly surprised by how big it was! Crunchy, spicy, juicy, goodness!

Staff were very kind and helpful. Told them that this was my first time there and they explained the whole menu. Food is great and you can't go wrong with local beer from King Kong Brewery. Will come back and support.

If you find yourself in downtown Sacramento do yourself a favor and visit the K Street location. When we arrived, a woman named Ocean greeted us; she is half Executive Chef/half Conductor. She flows fluidly between hosting guests to fielding the flow of delivery drivers, all the while ensuring fresh hot chicken keeps pumping from the open kitchen.

I will tell you that Ocean is masterful, fun and holding it down like a seasoned pro. This matters because we live in a day when many have lost the art of engaging the public. It’s refreshing to see how Ocean epitomizes that solid old school pride that comes with being good at what you do.

And the food: The chicken is yummy. The proper fries are perfectly balanced. The sweet tea is on point. I’d recommend the mac n cheese. Do not skip the pickles.

All that while Ocean is at the podium, conducting a delicious orchestra of flavor.

I’m not sure who Nash is, but Ocean does it proper.

I had the seasoned crinkle cut fries and macaroni sides. It was the best macaroni I have had. Well worth the price! Very nice service and everything was packaged incredibly to take back for lunch.

Last year on this day I had their delicious spicy chicken sandwich when I was at at solblume. They were absolutely amazing. I could never find them again until I got a memory in my camera today. I found y'all!! Lol I'm definitely gonna be coming here soon to get another.

Tried the "Proper Fries" I think that's what they were called and got them extra spicy, very tasty and walked some of it off around Capitol Park.

Thank you Nash & Proper for being at the Placerville Speedway last night!!! I was looking for something different for dinner and you had it! The Sammich was just fantastic and so full of flavor!!! From the bread to the slaw, to the pickles to the best chicken I've ever had, my 1st visit with N&P was a 5 star experience! I look forward to checking out your Cupertino location. THANK YOU!!!

After hearing about this place from so many people, thought we'd give it a try. The hype is correct. Saying I like spicy is an understatement and I heard their "clucking hot" sandwich was no joke. It was delish and the portions were great. Finally, a sandwich that actually had spice after being disappointed time and time again with other "hot sandwiches" from other chicken sandwich restaurants. My wife got the naked sandwich (since she is a wimp with spice) and it had the perfect level of heat for her. I also recommend the mac and cheese. Amazing!
The chef Matt, and the rest of the staff were beyond friendly. Highly, highly recommend if you're looking for a great chicken sandwich, especially if you're looking for actually heat.

Finally moseyed into Nash & Proper after riding past it on my bike about two dozen times, and they did NOT disappoint. Light, crispy breading on my chicken sammy with medium hot heat and all the extras. Fast service, friendly guys, reasonable prices. This shop is a winner and a welcome addition to K Street.

I think I already have this store a review recently but just in case, I'll do another because this place is worth it!
Easy ordering at the counter with friendly staff who brings it out to you in their makeshift outdoor covid dining area. Great food ... second time here and ordered the Sammich again, since it was THAT good! I toned down the spice to mild this time as medium lit me up last time!
It's a big sandwich for me so I ask them to cut it in half so I can share with someone needy.
Maybe I'll try something different next time but no guarantees!!

Best Nashville chicken in Sacramento or anywhere else I've been. I've been seeking them out starting 2 years ago in their food trucks, and I'm so happy for them to have a brick & mortar location in downtown Sac. The quality has stayed top-notch throughout their growth, and it's truly flavorful while being as spicy or mild as you want it
