COLT Grill Cottonwood

This was quite a surprise find! We loved all of the smoked meats- hard to choose a favorite. I would recommend trying the sampler platter. Any leftovers are great in a breakfast burrito or as toppings on a homemade pizza. We’ll happily come again when we are in the area on future travels. Keep up making the exceptional menu.

Colt is known for great BBQ and outdoor patio but it’s also an excellent Sunday breakfast place. We sat at the bar and ordered the Outlaw Burrito and Bloody Marys. Both Unbelievable and a great value too.

Bartender was awesome.

We go to COLT every time we stop into Cottonwood. The food is always delicious, and the consistency is spot on. The prices are reasonable and, honestly, a great deal when considering the quality. My husband always gets their "filly" cheesesteak sandwich while I jump around the menu each time. Their cheesesteak never disappoints. The meat itself is flavorful and rich, but the cook and brightness of the peppers really balance it out. This last time, I got the ribs, coleslaw, and beans. The ribs were perfect! We always look forward to our visits.

Loads of smoked meats, onions and potatoes wrapped in a hand-made tortilla. The salsa provided just enough kick to accent the fòod.

I'm thankful we didn't find Colt right away because it would've been the only place we would've eaten. The patio was packed, so we sat inside at the bar where it was nice & empty. The bartender was like an old friend that you haven't seen in a while, so you talk a long time to catch up. The food was amazing. The portions were huge. As soon as I saw all of that food, I knew I couldn't conquer it. I didn't. Then, foolishly, I ordered a peach cobbler a la mode for dessert. Dumb idea. It was a PLATTER of cobbler and ice cream. My friend ordered the Cowboy Cookie Sundae. 1st of all, the cookie weighed about 5 pounds. Then add 3 pounds of ice cream on top. We had to be rolled out of there. We were completely stuffed. Everything about this place is good and worth a visit! Oh, and the garlic butter fries were the bomb 💣

Excellent stop after a day of hiking Tuzigoot National Monument in town, Montezuma Castle/Well, and Crane Petroglyph Heritage Site (doable in one day)! Wish we could've gotten in town earlier to tour the nearby wineries but Colt is perfectly situated to satisfy hunger and thirst, as well as great happy hour specials. Try all the BBQ sauces, there is a taste for anyone. Great portion sizes too, great value. Pork sandwich and brisket platter were excellent.

Wonderful restaurant. We went for breakfast with 8 people, including a picky teenager, and everyone left full and happy! The service method is a little unusual - you get seated with your menus, then take your order up to the counter. The counter will call your order number and you come get your food. Very nice, friendly staff - we asked one to take our picture (in the most touristy way possible) and he readily obliged (and took good pictures, for what it's worth!) The food is delicious, large portions, and with some interesting options. I highly recommend the mushroom hash - I'm not a vegetarian at all but I chose it over some meat options and I'm very glad I did.

Great food. Sat outside with our pooches on the dog friendly patio. Be aware that all of their sauces contain sugar, but I liked the 3 I tried. I highly recommend the Colt Grill.

I am in and out of Colt Grill in Cottonwood regularly. It is absolutely consistent, always fresh and as good as anything else you can get in town. The brisket is excellent, the pulled pork is excellent, the burgers are the best and the portions are generous! ..the salads are surprisingly excellent as well. The breakfasts are beyond excellent, and by the way, Colt in Cottonwood has a new bartender by the name of Andrew.. Just like everything else at Colt (and the other three), he is top of the line and willing to go the extra mile.. After all, he is in the hospitality industry.. and that's why we come out to spend our money.. to have a nice time!

COLT Grill is a MUST to eat at if you enjoy great BBQ!!! We only ordered the brisket sandwich this time. However, we will be going back!y husband had had brisket tacos before and said they were incredible! There is inside and outside seating.

We went in just to get a cocktail, but as soon as we smelled that BBQ, we had to get some food as well.
We got the brisket tacos, and they did not disappoint. I also got the 'Ol Smokey 10 and it was amazing.
Well worth the visit. I definitely want to go back to try other BBQ on the menu.

Colt Grill is our newest must-visit in Old Town Cottonwood! The food is fantastic and the ambience is perfect! The brisket is amazing! They smoke everything on site!

AMAZING! My husband and I stopped in for dinner after walking around Old Town. No wait, quick and friendly service, plus phenomenal food.

We got the Santa Fe burger and pulled pork sandwich, with a side of the ranch style beans and smoked Mac and cheese. We were drooling over the beans. And the poblano pepper on the burger was *chefs kiss* perfection. Could have taken home ten of the smoked macs if I didn’t have more self control. Definitely a must stop spot for anyone in the area!

Great little place. I had the brisket and it was very good. Cooked on a wood fired pit, good smoke ring, nice marbling and it was served without sauce on it. Side of white bread with onions and pickles. They did Texas style BBQ perfectly. Burgers were also a hit as was the fish and chips. Only complaint was the chips (fries) could have been a bit crispier. Definitely will go back on another visit to family.

Great food, Great BBQ sauces, the only thing I found a bit odd is they call out your number and you have to walk up and get your food. But if you've never been you don't know what your foods looks like to grab it. And the chefs don't really help you.

THE BEST BURGER! Great atmosphere, love the decor, inside or outside dining. Every dish I saw looked great and big servings.

This was so delicious. Ordered takeout online; easy and quick. When walking in to pick up the order, the smokey smell delights your senses. We tried the smoked turkey bacon club, smoked macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, and fried chicken sandwich. All was wonderful, but the smoked mac & cheese and turkey sammy were outstanding.

I have traveled all across the country sampling smoked brisket and theirs is one of the most succulent I have tasted. It was very tender with just the right amount of flavor. No bbq sauce needed! The sweet potato fries were good as well.

Great food . Great brisket. Good sauces. My one and only critique would be the process. To go in and find a place to sit ...read the menu.. go back and order for the table (4 people)... go back to the table... then after waiting for your food to be ready going back to pickup your table's order... all seems hardly efficient considering the size of the place. This doesn't even consider getting drinks (which you pour yourself) for your table. Also there are not trays to carry multiple items to your table. The process in my opinion is broken and should be thought out with providing a relaxing experience in mind.
