Otto's Food Cart

We finally caved and drove TWO HOURS EACH WAY for this food cart. My husband was diagnosed with Celiac's in the past few years, and it's hard to get a safe chicken sandwich for him. I was suspicious of all the good reviews to begin with, but allergen conscious on top of it?

Yeah.

The reviews aren't lying. We made the trip a second time almost 3 months later, and it was exactly as good.

This is in the top 3 fried chicken sandwiches we've ever had, gluten free bun considered. Best we've had in Colorado. The chicken is crispy, juicy, flavorful. I get the one with hashbrowns, and it's a whole dream sandwich.

Everything comes out HOT. Tired of hour old rubber fries? We ordered a box to take home, and they were still audibly sizzling when he handed them to us. So, of course, after already sharing an order, we naturally ate half on the way to the car.

We, personally, love the sweet potatoes with Cajun seasoning and blue cheese to dip them in. But I know fries preference is a really personal thing.

The people working the food shack are SO friendly, helpful, sweet, and on top of things that it feels full-service even though it's just a food truck with outdoor seating.

And that outdoor seating is PRIME. The views in this area are gorgeous, and it's so refreshing to enjoy the open air and delicious food together.

The two things I regret are not being able to eat more chicken and fries in a day, and not finding out about this place sooner.

If you're able to go, do it! Enjoy it! It's a great excuse to enjoy a mountain drive, and the reward is wonderful!

Read the reviews and thought people were exaggerating, went there and Boom! People weren't joking at all lol! The two guys who work there are very friendly and welcoming. The food is so great, tasty, freshly made to order. I know my cheesesteak, and with all honesty here, they served one the best cheesesteak I ever had in the country. I'd put it in my top 3 and I have tried A LOT!

We also tried the original chicken sandwich and another one that has their special sauce, and we were not disappointed either here. Extremely tasty chicken sandwiches and the sauces are 🔥🔥🔥

The only thing I hate about this place, is that am going to miss it a lot when we head back home to Florida. I wish they move to Tampa 🤣

There’s no words to describe just how fantastic the chicken sandwich’s were at this fabulous local hotspot! We got two of the Colossal Cajun chicken sandwiches and they were so big but we both finished it all because it was so good. The staff was also just so friendly and creative when it came to customizing things for your sandwich. 10/10 would recommend traveling to this small town just to visit Otto’s!

The best chicken sandwich - The Hot Honey with a side of Cajun fries is the way to go. Perfectly crisp and tossed chicken. Friendly staff and good places to sit. Definitely stop when you’re in Alma!

We stopped here on our way back to Colorado Springs from Breckenridge. We had a great late lunch. The chicken sandwiches are out of this world. The chicken is browned beautifully and nice and juicy. The sandwiches are very large. We'll be back - THANK YOU!!!

I stopped here for lunch last Thur after delivering in Breck. The young man at the window was the absolute best representation of outstanding customer service, which is lacking these days in so many places. He was friendly, helpful & just all around awesome! This is such a beautiful place to sit at the picnic tables, at the base of Hoosier pass, in the beautiful mountain air & enjoy an outstanding meal!! The cheesesteak was delicious, as usual, the fries were excellent, as always! Thank you!

We drove about 10 to 15 minutes out of our way to check this place out because of the Google reviews. It definitely did not disappoint! The food here was so good and probably one of the best places we’ve been to. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. You get pretty large prices too. The fries were also crispy and perfectly cooked.
Highly recommend!!

Wasnt expecting much as we were hungry from hiking. But boy oh boy we’re glad we found this place. The chicken sandwhiches are amazing!! They were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Crunchy on the outside and still managed to make the chicken juicy! The sweet potato fries were also awesome. The other great thing was the sndwhiches and fries weren’t greasy!! Hats off to this little food truck for coming through!! Prices were also reasonable and the guy at the cashier was super friendly. If you are even remotely close by or around Alma. GO hear!!

Honestly some of the best and most wholesome food I’ve tasted in a very long time. My friends and I are visiting Colorado for a few days and this spot has already captured our hearts. Chef Gonzalez is extraordinary and the passion is apparent from the first bite. We are lucky to be so close to their location but we would drive across the state for this food! Thank you guys for everything!

Hands down the best chicken sandwich & fries I've ever had!! Pictures don't do it justice - chicken crispy on the outside & juicy on the inside. Worth the wait. Our new must stop whenever we pass through in the future!

Super friendly, delicious food, and reasonable prices for what they're serving!

I was headed home from snowboarding and stumbled upon this gem yesterday. I wasn't expecting anything fantastic, but they blew me away! Everything was soooo good!!!! I'd wait any day in freezing temps with high wind again to eat their food! Definitely a good reason to avoid I70 and take the long way back to Denver.

Just know though, they will EASILY ruin your other "good food" spots with what they're chefin up in that lil cart!

For my Texans traveling through to Breckenridge. STOP! HERE! This is not a drill.

We moved from Texas about a year ago and have found Colorado food to be bland as all get out. This place was everything we've been missing. Seasoning, actual spice (not just green chilli), hot and fresh, quick and kind service from the guys running the truck. It was really all that!!!

Wish I had a genie to grant me 3 wishes... wish I could give more than 5 stars, wish this was much closer to me, wish I knew about this much sooner!

Hands down, the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. This little food cart is unassuming, but the food is outstanding! We ordered breakfast to-go, our food was served quickly and with a smile. Plenty of gluten-free and vegan options are always a plus! Do yourself a favor, stop by for breakfast or lunch.

We found this place by chance and we were super happy with the service and quality of the food we ordered. It's definitely worth the stop if you're hungry!! I had the breakfast burrito and my wife had the chicken sandwich and they were both amazing. The chicken sandwich was hands down one of the best I've ever tasted! I definitely recommend either of these choices.

The best food truck experience I've had, hands down. From the service to the food, we were extremely satisfied.

We got the boneless hot honey buffalo wings and the colossal Cajun chicken sandwich with a side of fries. Delicious chicken, great flavor, and crispy. The wing sauce was sweet, not very spicy, but great flavor. Also, the best fries I've had - hands down. Nice and crispy, but still hearty.

The service was great too. Friendly and welcoming, food came out fast, and they checked in to make sure we enjoyed it.

All around - great experience. (they're open year round)

One of the best sandwiches and fries I ever had (and not just because I just fished four 14ers). The fries were PERFECT! Like the exact balance between crunchy outside and soft inside. And the sandwich was just great!

We did a loop from boras pass trail, south to Como, west to Fairplay, and north to Breckinridge. Stopped by this place for lunch, and the foods were delicious. We ordered cheese steak (yum), hot pastrami, and fried. Frieds were crispy, n
Golden brown. Highly recommended. $13 per sandwich.

Great food truck just up the road from the South Park Saloon. I had the chicken sandwich special with sweet potato fries and chose salted flavor, but later realized regular cajun fries would have been better after trying someone else's. The sauce options for fries were great. The chicken sandwich was rich and indulgent, though the bun had slightly too much butter for my taste. My sister loved her Philly cheesesteak. Price was perhaps a tad steep, $30 after tip for a sandwich, fries, and a botte of water. However, you are supporting a nice little local economy and the staff was friendly and helpful. Would visit again!

I mean wow breakfast burritos are phenomenal. Best we’ve had in colorado. nice tables to sit at and a nice bathroom! will be our new stopping place. nice people too - they gave our dogs some ham. dogs give 5 stars too!

As good as it gets. Chicken sandwich was great, and so were the wings. Fries, seasoning, and dipping sauces all top notch. Better than all of that was the way the place was run. The boss (Otto, I assume) worked feverishly to prepare the food, take orders, encourage the workers, and make happy conversation with every patron. Truly a 5 star place.
