Something Different Grill-Portales

To whom it may concern,
On Tuesday evening, Jan 9 2024, I ordered 3 main entrees. One being the chicken bacon ranch fries from your establishment in Portales. I woke up in the early morning of Jan 10th, vomiting continuously and with diarrhea followed by constant headaches, nausea, and hot and cold spells all day. That same day the went to an urgent care in Clovis and they diagnosed me with severe Food poisoning. I hope that we can go forward with some reconciliation considering I enjoy eating at this establishment.

Had a great dinner-for-one while traveling through Portales. A nice vibe, with a wide range of age groups dining at the restaurant. I was a little disappointed when I found out the “happy hour drink specials” were not “adult beverages” (a server told me getting a liquor license was really hard, so they hadn’t) but was otherwise very satisfied. The Thai chicken rice was awesome! Good service, great prices, and a friendly staff. I wish there were more such places on the planet!

Food was certainly different but it was nice to stop in on our way through town. Service was good and very fast. Overall a nice experience and I will come back if I'm going through town again.

Good food and not a bad place to eat. The prices are great in this economy! And it is Something Different than normal. They have a variety of options that wouldn't normally be found together in restaurants, and the food was quick too. The biggest downside would be that it's small and not likely the best option for a big group.

One of the best Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches I've had, and I've been to Philly to have them. (This restaurant calls them cheesy steak sandwiches). The atmosphere is cute and cozy with great service and strong price points. Incredible quality for what you pay for.

Great Teriyaki Bowl! Huge, full bowl with beef, chicken, shrimp, broccoli & brown rice! Great food! Will be back soon!

Back for another order. Used drive thru. Quick, nice, excellent food!

Very clean. Staff well mannered and efficient. Catfish was a bit salty but portion was good. Sweet tea fantastic. Will go back.

Steak sandwich is the best.
I got it without veggies so just meat and cheese. Almost queso like. Delicious!!!!
Got it with a side of sweet potato fries. Those were also a good choice. I would highly suggest ordering before going to save time.

Nice & clean. Service was good. Price was very reasonable. Food was all great. The menu doesn't have a large variety of typical items, but specializing in just a few likely makes them better. The salads we had were all large and very fresh. The teriyaki bowls, fried green beans & pickles all great too.

For the size and prices, the menu is nicely diversified. We were in when fairly busy yet had no issue with service or quality of food.

Baked potatoes are huge and tasty with many different options for toppings, not just the standard bacon bits and cheese. Catfish was okay. Hushpuppies were good. Service was prompt and friendly. We would eat here again next time we're in town.

We travel all the time. Hotel to the next hotel. They are perfect for what we need. Good food. Good service, and affordable.

Great food for a really reasonable price. Brought our athletic team in there (14+ orders) and the staff was super helpful, quick and thoughtful. Would definitely recommend this establishment to any sports team OR individual.

Great prices, tasty food, respectable portion sizes, good atmosphere, and courteous staff. I highly recommend fried zucchini appetizer. The chicken and steak teriyaki bowl was really good (I think I liked the steak most), and included fresh veggies. It was $15 after tax for the meal and appetizer…great deal.

I missed lunch due to a presentation. I went from there to the hospital and was there until after 6 pm. Ravenous! I ordered online, came home, and enjoyed every delicious bite: spaghetti, zucchini chips, and the Super Bowl for my husband. Every flavor was so good—thank you for cooking for me.

The food was fresh and very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. One meal I ate was the spicy spaghetti. I usually don't order pasta in restaurants that aren't Italian due to the pasta may not be cooked correctly, however the spaghetti was perfect. Definitely will eat and or order again!
