Took my grandkids there. We camped one day. The next we stayed in a teepee. They have a pool and showers. The little store had so fun products. They had one made the camp fire turn colors. We made great memories.

We stayed at the Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA Holiday from July 23 to August 6, 2023. Upon arrival we noticed we were among other arrivals and the entrance to the park is set up in a way that there was limited room for multiple RV’s. The camp hosts were trying their best to navigate each guest to their spots to make room for more arrivals. When we checked in, the staff were friendly and gave us information on our site and campground. As we were among others that arrived at the same time, we did have to wait a little bit to get to our site.

We were in site W20, a level gravel pull-through site that was long enough for our RV, Truck, and extra car, with a concrete patio, fire pit, and picnic table. The site was bordered with grassy areas creating a natural buffer that generously enhanced the sense of privacy between us and our neighbors. Our view and proximity to the Colorado River added an extra layer of tranquility to our camping experience.

The well-maintained campground offers a wide range of amenities, from well-kept restrooms, shower facilities, laundry room to a refreshing swimming pool, Hot Tub/Sauna, a splash park and playground for the kids, a pavilion, a KampK9 enclosed dog park, and in-park fishing in the Colorado River. For added convenience they have a gift shop, on-site firewood, and propane refills available for purchase.

The campground's location is a definite highlight. Nestled along the Colorado River and surrounded by picturesque mountains, the scenery is breathtaking. It's conveniently close to the charming town of Glenwood Springs, providing easy access to attractions such as the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park and the historic Hot Springs Pool that were both bucket list items for us.

A notable challenge we encountered during our stay revolved around the campground's lack of Electric Vehicle (EV) friendliness. Unfortunately, they do not permit on-site charging. Requiring us to go into town, or Glenwood Springs to recharge our car on the days we wished to explore the surrounding area. This aspect did add an extra layer of logistical planning to our stay, as we had to factor in off-site charging for our Tesla, which might be a consideration for fellow travelers with electric vehicles.

One of the highlights of our time here was reveling in the occasional rain, particularly when it led into the breathtaking spectacle of a lightning and thunderstorm. The vibrant dance of lightning and the resonant rumble of thunder combined to create a mesmerizing natural display, turning a simple rain shower into a memorable and awe-inspiring experience that I was lucky to capture some of its beauty.

This campground Is definitely a “KOA holiday” and has so many amazing aspects for all to enjoy, though we did have the EV charging challenge, I would still recommend staying at this KOA.

Hands down the best campground staff in the world! Bob and his team are the best. They went way above and beyond to accommodate and help us out during our stay. The facilities, campsites, dog park and pool were all in pristine condition. This campground is located right on the beautiful Colorado River with easy access to endless outdoor recreation and activities the area has to offer. If you are traveling through this area this is a must stop. Thanks a million Bob and KOA Staff! We look forward to seeing you again this spring!

A wonderful very well maintained RV park on the Colorado River.

We were greeted by a great staff of people making us feel welcome and escorting us to our level sight where did not need unhook our 42 foot 5er from our F250.

Did I mention a boat ramp into the Colorado for use by guest? 🙂

Simple back in spot was less expensive and better for medium size trailers when we were just passing through. Site was level enough that we used 2 orange blocks and did not disconnect from the truck. Would like to go back in prime season.

We had such a great time at this rv resort. Every worker we came in contact with was so friendly, it really makes a difference. Our pull thru spot was very spacious and quiet. They have a great pool, splash pad, and playground for the little ones. It is conveniently located next to a quiet little truck stop that has plenty of food and drinks. Driving distance to Aspen and Vail. I highly recommend this rv park.

A very well kept KOA with helpful staff. Lots of amenities. My site was a bit small, even for my teardrop trailer but the staff member who led me to the site was helpful while I was backing in. The Colorado River borders the campground, I saw people fishing off the banks. A nice gas station & convenience store is right next door. Good ATT signal.

Amazing experience! Staff were amazing! We were tent camping, and while we were out getting food on our first night, a severe storm came through, and all our stuff was soaked. Our tent was destroyed, and we didn't know what we could do. It was still raining heavy so we couldn't go anywhere on the motorcycle to get new stuff or anything. Thousands of miles from home and all our belongings and our temporary house(the tent) were in shambles. One of the gals at the front desk offered to drive us to Walmart after she got done working for the day. Luckily the rain let up a bit so we rode over and replaced what we needed to. The staff checked up on us to be sure we were OK. Our time there was wet and insane for sure. But the only reason it wasn't miserable is because the staff were so incredibly kind. Very big hearts at this site! Thank you to the gal that offered us a ride and to the staff that checked up on us! Facilities were also very clean and nice.

Great CG close to Aspen, Vail and Glenwood Springs. Plenty to do. Gas station right at the entrance with a diesel island and DEF right at the pump as well. Very convenient. There is a walkway right next to the Colorado River. Very nice! We would stay again!

We selected this KOA as a layover between Alamosa, CO and Vernal, UT and I'm so glad we did. This is one of the best KOAs we've ever stayed at. We had a patio site on the river with an amazing view. The best part was seeing bald eagles in the dead trees across the river!

I came here with a few girlfriends for a weekend and we stayed in a deluxe cabin. Everyone loved it. The cabin was roomy and comfy and the campground itself is great.

We really enjoyed our time at this KOA. We had a camping cabin that was right on the water and next to the bathroom building.

Cabin was spacious and beds were acceptable (as expected).

Pool was fun...a little chilly, but the hot tub was nice.

Only complaint was proximity to the highway and the associated road noise. Not really an issue inside, but heard it while outside.

Lovely picturesque location, a little off the highway, you pass a gas station where the Semi's 🚛 like to park. There is a huge collection of parking places. Most of them filled out already, so call in advance to find a spot. Be careful if you park next to the burm. I got a bit frustrated when I backed into it. Totally my fault of course. Every spot has it's own built in fire pit with a cooking surface. Love that, almost never see that. RV parks usually either don't have them at all or make you rent out their portable ones, or bring your own. Who has space for that?
Everything is updated. Everything runs great and looks awesome. Bathrooms, showers, playgrounds, splash pad even!, & pool. The pool was unfortunately closed when we got there in May. And the river was very full. The camp host I spoke with on the phone was very accommodating and even came to check on me when I arrived to make sure my rig would fit in the spot. There was one train go by a night but, it was not a bit deal.
I saw so many pictures of this place. You don't usually see that in an RV campground. Goes to show how popular it is.
I'll ad just a few more. ✌

These folks that own & operate this place are phenomenal.
I had myself an emergency situation in the middle of the night, and these lives savers came to my aid and saved my hide. I couldn't be more grateful for them and the help and assistance they offered on their own accord.

Staff very nice. Site 10 was along the rushing river. Full hookup with a beautiful gazebo and firepit which included a gas barbecue, table and chairs and Adirondack chairs along the river. Cement pads. Grass was lush and green. No animal remnants. Two washers and dryers in the 24 hour building but more available in the main building within business hours. Friendly staff. Pool, hot tub, playground for kids. Great wifi signal. Definitely would have stayed much longer. A bit surprised it was 20 minutes to Glenwood Springs but worth the drive. Near gas, groceries.

The view! The view!
We stayed for 4 nights during our 2+ weeks of camping in Colorado. This KOA and overall, this campground was our favorite.
We stayed river facing, but no patio, just picnic table and it was beautiful (however, next time I would definitely get the patio - it is just so nice).
The showers and bathrooms reminded me of a hotel :) always nice and clean, I actually preferred their showers to our tiny one in the RV.
Laundromat machines are clean and the space is overall enjoyable and neat.
Staff is extremely helpful and friendly.
And, of course, the VIEW! Stunning! Gorgeous sunsets over the mountains!
Also, close enough to Aspen, obviously to Glenwood Springs, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, and on the other side - ice caverns and other awesome hikes!
If we are back in the area- we will definitely stay there again!

This KOA was fantastic...sites of all sizes and some backins on the river. They have a splash pad for the kids and a pool/spa. The office is nice/clean and the staff is friendly. All the amenities you need is on the property. Highly recommend if in the area.

AMAZING service and staff. We broke down nearby and were able to organize with the staff ahead of our arrival to ensure we could get towed directly to our site. They were so helpful with finding and booking us spots last minute to stay in while we waited on service and always made us feel supported. I would absolutely recommend them and will be returning in the future!
