I haven't been impressed with this location lately.

We called Cafe Rio on Christmas Eve to see what time they closed. They said 8:00pm, so we made sure to put in our order at least an hour before closing (6:55pm). Our order was supposed to be ready at 7:10, but it wasn't ready until 7:27. We stood there for at least 15 minutes before someone even spoke to us. I'm not sure why our order was so late because they weren't very busy.

Right after we walked in at 7:10, one of the employees locked the main doors and then put a note on the other door that said "we are closed because it is 24. No enter." A few people walked in right after he put up the sign (which he shouldn't have put up yet) and he got mad at them and kicked them out. Another employee spoke to him in Spanish and told him he shouldn't do that because of the cameras. He didn't seem to care though.

The food and service at this location has definitely gone downhill.

Delicious! We had this for our Christmas Eve dinner. I had the sweet pork quesadilla on a wheat tortilla, my boyfriend had the sweet pork burrito smothered in sauce (with habanero sauce on the side), my oldest had the chicken salad, and my youngest had the chicken quesadilla.

All of us loved our food. I usually always get the red sauce (hot), but I think I’m going to get habanero from here on out. It was sooo good and not too hot at all.

We placed our order to go. When we got there, it was all ready for us and sitting on the counter. We were in and out in less than 3 minutes.

We love cafe rio and will be back soon.

Food is always great and the service is kind and swift. I prefer mobile ordering to beat the line, but even standing in line only takes as long as the indecisive people in front of you, never the employees. By far my favorite fast casual restaurant, and will continue to come here as long as I live in the area.

The employees were incredible with my group of 8 employees at 8:45pm. The food was fresh, they were attentive and went above and beyond to get our meals together.

I go here weekly.
I'm addicted.
It's the closest red chili I've found in this state since moving hear from NM.
I get the salad, nachos, quesadilla or a smothered burrito. I get the tortilla soup when I'm feeling crummy. It's just comforting.
Great staff pretty quick even when there's a long line.

Tasted great. I'm always happy to come here. They didn't skimp out on the double meet like some places which was also really nice.

Fix the lime drink like it used to taste. For the past year it has been quite watered down, and not very good at all. so disappointing to go other places and it tastes like it should but Not here in Layton where I live.

ALWAYS top-notch. Best location we've ever been to. Staffs awesome, great environment, always clean, but most importantly the food is always excellent and fresh and good portions 👌

Food was delicious, great portions & the employees there are all so nice & friendly. Will definitely be back!

Tonight we enjoyed the pork barbacoa burrito and grilled chicken burrito both enchilada style. We also had the chips and salsa and guacamole as an appetizer.
The portion size is huge and everything tastes great!
We'll definitely keep coming back!

Had half a chicken breast as one solid piece in my quesadilla. The meat has gone downhill, and the service has gotten worse.

The salmon tacos are SO good. I ordered extra salmon and they took it seriously haha. Pickup order was ready on time

Nice clean restaurant! Service can be slow depending on how many things each person orders. Overall great consist food prep and taste!

I always enjoy Cafe Rio! It is a personal and family favorite. Their moto is "every meal a masterpiece" and it is true.

Always get delicious food from here. Great prices, and quick service. Will be back!

Matthew was so friendly quick and efficient he also plated everything nicely I really appreciated his recommendations. All the food was hot and this is a great location I skip 2 other cafe Rios just to come to this location. I didn't take a picture of my food but it looked good! Also drink station was filled and clean

Loved that Salmon it’s back! Please keep it in the menu. Really friendly staff, they do a great job.

My son and I argue about which is better: Cafe Rio or Costa Vida. I say hands down Cafe Rio wins. I know that both of them make great homemade tortillas. When I go, I always buy the extra two tortillas for a $1. But I love Cafe Rio's chicken quesadillas, and I'm very boring, buying them every time I go because I love them so much. But how can you fault a person buying the same thing over and over again because it's so damn good? My husband usually gets the fire grilled steak salad with the cilantro vinaigrette and, while I could never eat that all in one sitting, there is rarely anything left and his silver bowl. Each time I use my Rio Rewards online so that I build up points that will eventually be redeemed for food. This takes the place of the Punch Cards of old. This is the only way to ensure that they will yell out in joy, "Free Meal."

We just came in tonight at 10pm and got food for our whole group. We felt bad ordering so much so late, but every employee there were the absolute best. They were so kind and funny, and we really had the best conversations. I didn't get their names but they deserve some gold stars! Also our food was DELICIOUS! Thank you to all the employees there!!!

I ordered online from here the other day. Yes they were behind because they were down in staff, that is not their fault. Stop complaining and be glad that there are even people willing to work to provide a service for you. There is no reason to treat these people so poorly.
What I will say is the staff handled it with professionalism and continued to apologize. I don't think you needed too.
