Steph's Southern Soul Restaurant

We didn't know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. It's full service buffet style, where they serve you as you pick your main course and sides. Finish your meal off with a delicious dessert and drink. The prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. It's a good value for the money. The ambiance is quaint, with local artists' pictures displayed on the walls. More than half of their tables are window seats. The workers are friendly and fast. They were helpful, too.

The parking lot is little but full. The place is small but it’s a hidden gem! We were welcomed immediately upon walking in. We were explained the menu, with pricing. Buffet style. Amazing food.! Fried chicken is fabulous. Not dry, seasoned just right. Collard greens & gumbo amazing. Just met Harold that owns the restaurant while sitting here writing this review. He has also pastors the church next door. He says there is room for semi’s by restaurant.

Absolutely great food, amazing service, and excellent atmosphere. This is the best bang for your buck. It's a different kind of menu style. Be prepared to get full and happy.

This place was a welcome surprise! It had the best fried chicken I have ever tasted. I would highly recommend and the service was outstanding.

Cafeteria style service, very tasty. Ribs & Oxtail slightly small size but portions are good. Service is Excellent!

This restaurant is such a gem. It's evident that the food is made with soul! Home cooking at it's best! I wish I lived closer!

Everything was fantastic! First time here and we ordered food to go for dinner 🍽 tomorrow night. We loved all of the choices of meats and sides. They also had so many desserts!
We'll be back!!

We came here for lunch because we wanted to try somewhere new with country style food. Steph’s soul food exceeded our expectations! The mashed potatoes were the best I’ve ever had. My husband said the fried chicken was the absolute best ever! We like to try different “hole in the wall” places and Steph’s is a hidden gem in Dade City. I loved all the history on the walls. Everyone was so friendly and it was nice to be greeted as we walked into the restaurant. We’ll definitely be back.

One of those places where you drive to with a purpose: good food.
I had a plate full; chicken breast, green beans, broccoli rice bake, bread roll, and a small salad.
For desert a sugar free coconut pie,which deserves 5 stars by itself!

The food at Steph’s is always delicious. The prices are reasonable and the portions are fair from my experience ordering takeout. The inside isn’t much but that doesn’t matter because it’s the food I keep coming back for. You’re served cafeteria style and there’s a good variety to choose from.

The staff have always been pleasant and I’ve never felt rush to pick an entree or side while in line. The food is easy to view which is important when selecting from the abundant choices.

The oxtails are amazing. There was plenty of meat on the bone, the flavor was perfect, plus the two sides. I’ve not had a bad meal here. Definitely stop and visit if you’re in the area.

GREAT fried chicken, lots of yummy sides to choose from. I loved the cucumber tomato salad, reminded me of my grandmothers. Although we didn't order any, the desserts looked yummy. The only down side I could see was the dining room was a little tight and a few people with walkers and scooters had a difficult time moving through. The staff was very helpful in negotiating them through it though.

Friendly welcoming atmosphere, good customer service, and delicious food. A restaurant worth going out your way for.

They say hello and ask you how you are doing when you walk in. The place was buzzing with people in and out. Plenty of tables I side and they also have seating outside. The entire staff was extremely friendly and hospitable. Cafeteria style ordering and someone clears the dishes as you eat and refill your drinks. Very cool place in the heart of Dade City. Smothered porkchop with onions and gravy 🥩 is sensational which is a special, beef tips, cucumber salad, chicken and dumplings, coleslaw and both the corn muffin and dinner rolls are just as amazing and delicious. Desert is so good I can't describe it. If you are close, don't miss it.

Stephs is a well kept secret for the best tasting southern soul food. Don't take my word for it, try it yourself!

Been wanting a good home cooked meal & boy did I leave Steph's feeling more than pleased! I got fried chicken, mac n cheese & green beans, it was perfect! Steph was very welcoming & so was the staff. Clean environment with family vibes. If you live in the area and haven't tried this place, RUN! Also don't forget to grab some desserts, they have plenty! The peach cobbler was SO good! They also sell a syrup called Canes, I saw a few people grabbing some so it must be good especially coming from there! 100 out of 10!

Made it there by 5:00 pm. Suprisingly it wasn't crowded yet. The staff was awesome. As soon as we walked through the door we was greeted with such a warm welcome. The young man explained the cafeteria style restaurant and the different choices. The staff fixed our food as we made our selection of an entree and sides. They have dessert too.

This was another great dine in experience. Absolutely some of the best food I've tasted eating out! That fried chicken was so succulent, lightly breaded and it wasn't full of grease. You can tell that the greens didn't come from a can. And the okra and tomato was seasoned with perfection.

I love the gospel music that was playing in the background and I think the owner is a minister!

Just so happen the owner was there the whole time we was there and we had the pleasure of thanking him for such a wonderful soulful establishment. The food was made with love. We will be back ❣

Really good food. Tiny little restaurant but food was amazing have the beef tips over gravy and lime cake. The staff very friendly and attentive. Was one waitress and she was hustling. Kept hearing good things so drove 40 mins just to come and will again. It cafeteria style walk in the load up a plate and then you sit

From the catfish to the fried chicken, everything in this place is amazing! There are too many sides to choose from, and the desserts are delicious. Go there, and I guarantee you that you will be back!

Nice family restaurant and great soul food. Line food but you don't serve yourself, which is great cause your not having people touching the serving spoons. You pay then sit at any open table. The servers were attentive.
Meatloaf, ribs, fried chicken, coselaw and mac and cheese were very good. Oh and the beef tips on mash were excellent!!! Will definitely come again.

The food was all amazing, staff and service put it over the top. Make the trip and enjoy a great meal. We had; chicken and dumplings, baked chicken and mashed potatoes, beef tips over rice. Do not miss out on the collard greens or any of the desserts.
