Speaks Clam Bar

Very cool vibe! Located in the heart of St. Armand’s Key this place was a hit. The food selection was awesome. Everything from the steak, lobster and shrimp lasagna and the shrimp pasta was delicious. The adult drinks were well crafted the strawberry margarita was by far one of the best, the Old Fashion with Elijah Craig was amazing and the lemon twist added into it was pretty creative.

This place has so many meal selection that we will definitely be back again.

First time to visit Sarasota and choose to have our dinner on our first night at Speaks Clam Bar and made our reservation ahead. Got seated right away, got our order fast and everything was great, just a little thing that my husband wasn’t satisfied with his food, the lobster lasagna was mostly cheese not enough pasta but it was very good though. Had a good experience. Highly recommend .

The food is amazing at this cozy St Armand's restaurant. Less congested than the restaurants right on the St. Armand's circle.
The eggplant medallions were excellent. We chose the "sweet" sauce option, but there are other options. The clan and shrimp bowl was simple but unique, w 6 large shrimp and about 1 doz small class in a savory broth with cannellini beans and brocoll rabe. The Cappreisi salad also had a unique flare with a pesto sauce. Very satisfying all around.

Amazing service and amazing food. The home made pasta and the other dishes were light and enjoyable to have. Reasonably priced too. Was surprised that it was at that price point after the meal with how high quality it was.

The service is unbelievable here. So wonderful. The atmosphere is so relaxing, with a romantic vibe. The food was spectacular. Our family had a wonderful dining experience.

This has become one of my favorite cocktail bars in Florida. The bar service was amazing, the cocktails and food were exquisite (super fast service), and I had a mojito that has tied with one of the best mojitos I’ve ever had.. ever. And I’d like to think I know a good mojito. Will 100% come back. Gorgeous venue, too.

Stopped by for a nice lunch and we were able to have a wonderful waitress by the name of Sabrina. She started us off with mojitos and margaritas and they were outstanding! And as soon as we open the menu we realized that we were going to order a lot of food, which we did. The drinks were delicious, the specials were very good and the homemade pasta was excellent. All the seafood had nice taste. I would suggest though with the linguine white clam sauce, maybe adding a little more garlic and with the clams casino, maybe removing a little bread and shucking the clams before baking them. The hot marinara sauce that they brought it was unbelievable. Probably one of the best sauces I've ever had. I wish I could have taken a bottle home but I could not bring it on the plane. Other than that, it was a wonderful meal that was enjoyed by everyone. Five stars. We will be going back next time we're in Sarasota.

I’d like to thank the exceptional staff for a wonderful dining experience we came down from Atlanta to visit family and at at the Lakewood Ranch location. Our server Billy was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and attentive and was a key part in setting the tone for a wonderful evening and dining experience! The food itself was insanely good and the bread was to die for!! We had the spinach artichoke crab dip to start which was some of the best I’ve ever had and the oysters which were also some of the largest and best we’ve ever had! For our entrees, we had the lobster roll, lobster and shrimp lasagna, Frutti Di Mare Linguini which is a shellfish linguini, and the shrimp scampi. All of thes dishes were absolutely top tier and I’m so glad we got to come and enjoy this restaurant! Thank you Billy and thank you Speaks for the best seafood dining experience we’ve had in Florida!!!

Stopped in at Speaks , had some time to kill and it looked like a nice place and we had heard good things, we sat at the bar and had a couple of cocktails and some bar bites. The bar staff was super friendly and attentive, the drinks were delicious and very well presented. We order the mozzarella sticks and the raw oysters, both were brought out quick, nice presentation, and tasted great. The oysters were of good size and taste and the two mozzarella sticks were large and tasty with a great dipping sauce. Definitely will go back to try a full dinner.

This was such a cute place, the food was amazing, the cocktails were great and the service was impeccable!!! Definitely will be back.

Different branch. Same small chain. I ate like a king. Was kind of iffy for my bride as she is totally salt affected. Buy we still enjoyed. Don't be afraid to asked for custom reduced salt meals. Sometimes possible

We have found one of our new favorite restaurants at St. Armand’s circle. Everything we had was delicious from the lobster bisque to the clams to the lasagna. We came here as a suggestion from relatives and were extremely happy from the service, to the food, to the atmosphere. A great dining experience.

Everything was delicious. Calamari was excellent. The bread was to die for and loved the garlic oil! Dinner was great and drinks were delicious. My husband drinks Rusty Nail and not everyplace makes them. We will be back often.

If the scale only goes to five this is a six. It was amazing and I would highly recommend it. Our server Danielle was so nice and it was an amazing experience. One of the best places at St. Armonds!

Still great this is the second time I've been here and the food is outstanding.

Location was excellent with easy access to paid parking. We were sat immediately for our reservation despite being 15 minutes early. Chelsea (?) was attentive, professional and kind. Food and cocktails were excellent. Our server made excellent recommendations on the specials menu. Much better atmosphere, cleaner and more high-end than the Lakewood Ranch location. Will definitely be returning.

Small layout but has 2 stories with an outdoor terrace upstairs.
Good selection of cocktails; limited selection of beers. Regular size bar.
Had the warm lobster rolls and the fried basket (cod, clams, and shrimp).
Everything was delicious and the sides cole slow and fries were superb, good portions, and fries well-seasoned.
The fried basket was absolutely a great choice with the iced cold Guiness. Cod, clams, and shrimp (jumbo size); not over breaded, not greasy, just perfect.
Excellent spot for a drink and seafood bites. Food may take a bit longer than expected but it is worth the wait.
They also offer a daily menu with delicious dinner size selections.
Reservations suggested, for it is a small place and may get crowed fast. Parking may be challenging.

We are staying in a hotel nearby and wanted something for dinner. The bartender told us about a classy little place on an island where they make their own noodles. My grandfather is from Palermo, Sicily. I did make a reservation for 4 with a window view. The location was on a very busy street with plenty of bars or desserts shops.

Ok in all the restaurants that we have tried across America I can say the “Old Fashion” here ultimately the BEST! From the presentation to the smell of the cherry wood smoke it was so delightful. I did ask the waitress for a very sweet martini she suggested the “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” it was very tasty. My friends and I thought cocktails were amazing. This was the best mixologist in town.

We were having such a good time when our appetizer arrived, it was a heavenly amount of butter and clams. I ate every bite. I am glad we saved room for the entrées. They were all large portion dishes. My husband enjoyed his steamed main lobster. It was cooked to perfection and the claws fell right out. I wanted lobster but I also wanted some homemade pasta as well. My dish was the best, it had lobster, shrimp, and pasta.

To the manager our server couldn’t not have done a better job. She was very busy when we arrived plus there was a huge party table. She never missed a beat and was so kind. I ask many questions when I am dining. She had the answers and was timely as well.

The place is nice and a service was a top notch. My husband ordered Rigatoni bolognese and the dish didn't look as good as expected. He was so upset i even didn't take a pic. As well as the pasta was hard (all the pasta is house made). So if you a soft pasta fan, just ask them to cook pasta a little bit longer. As far as our server explained. Instead of that he ordered Grilled chicken pesto panini and I ordered lobster bisque with added lobster meat. And two dishes were delicious. Our server (lady) and a gentelman who was trying to fix a "pasta problem" (didn't introduce himself) really provided a great customer service. Will recommend.

Excellent spot! The food is delicious (all homemade pastas) and the service was impeccable! Our server Carlos was super friendly and made it a great atmosphere for my family. Would definitely recommend and will be back again!

The food quality, ambiance, and service are outstanding. We came here on a whim while in Sarasota because they have a separate gluten-free menu (you have to ask for it). The menu is small which is always a good sign - they do a few things really well. The kids meals were perfect. My wife got the gluten free pasta with shrimp and scallops. The gluten free pasta was good enough, the shrimp and scallops were perfectly prepared (my wife let me try a scallop - yum!). Her only complaint was the sauce was a touch watery, but it was clear that it had been prepared separately for her, respectful of the gluten allergy.

My dish was extraordinary. It's not on the online menu, but recently added to the house menu. It was a house-made pasta, lobster tail, and shrimp. The sauce was perfectly balanced, creamy, cheesy, buttery, and flavorful. The house-made pasta was the best I've ever had. The dish was balanced, aromatic, and delicious. Overall, our meals were $$$ quality at $$ prices and fantastic. We plan to go again next time we are in Sarasota.

I have to pay a compliment to the front of house manager and staff. A few tables over, I overheard the table getting grumpy with their server because one or two of their dinners had arrived before the appetizers; it sounded like an honest mixup had happened. The front of house manager quickly arrived to apologize to the table, had the mixup resolved quickly, and the servers playfully engaged with the table to smooth things over. It was a very professional handling of what could have become a very grumpy table, and within minutes they were laughing and enjoying themselves. It was a great display of the quality, training, and professionalism of the front of house staff.
