Sushi Gen shreveport

After searching far and wide for sushi that was fresh, I found this place on a Google search. I only had 2 items from the menu but they were both very good. Only downside was the size of the more expensive roll. I am used to a much bigger roll at that price point. I had the sweet shrimp sashimi and the sunshine roll. The sweet shrimp was great and they added the eggs as requested which really gives its a much more complex texture and elevates the taste. The sunshine roll was good. With a combination of shoft shell crab on the inside, tuna and eel on top. In many sushi places I have found all eel rolls lacking. I enjoy eel that has been reheated in the oven giving it a nice crispy texture and served warm. Many places I have found in the area don't take this extra step and the eel is limp and room temperature at best. Unfortunately at sushi gen the eel was the same.

My favorite sushi spot. Have gone back several times and the food has been consistently good. It's currently in the old Sonic on Line, but don't let the outward facade scare you off. You can go in, sit down, and eat. It's worth it.

Sushi Gen is my favorite place to get sushi. They are the ones that changed my mind about sushi! It is always so good! I love the staff...but they have literally never disappointed me. My to go orders are always great as well. I love the steak bento box, yam yam roll, shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, 007, and Osaka roll (with crab on top)**they have 2 Osaka rolls. Their clear soup and spicy mayo are perfect! Im mot crazy about their ginger dressing. It's a creamy style ginger dressing.

Food was fantastic! Some sushi places gives you more rice on a roll instead of meat. This places gives you more in the inside of the roll instead of the outside. Did I mention it was fresh?! Meat had a rainbow color it was so fresh!

Eating at this restaurant was such a wonderful experience and I cannot wait to go back. The waitress was attentive and very sweet. Everything she suggested us to try was just wonderful. My picky 9 year old devoured his food and some of the appetizer. My Mai Tai was sweet and strong. My Husband's White Russian was strong. I can't get over how fresh and delicious the food was.

It was my first time there and it was awesome! Delicious food and very nice staff. It for sure won't be my last time eating there.

My favorite restaurant in Shreveport! The sushi and hibachi is always a phenomenal. Ask for Ace as your server! She is the sweetest waitress I’ve ever had.

Best sushi in town. It's one of the only two places we will grab sushi. I recommend the Mango roll and dragon roll. The miso soup is not bad either as a light appetite.

My go-to sushi place in town. Great lunch-special bento boxes, and all the regular sushi classics you'd expect, plus some really great rolls. Try the Red River Roll or the 007 Roll for some of my favorites. Their Ahi Tower is also exactly what I want it to be, which always keeps me coming back.

I drive a truck from coast to coast and have ate Japanese from South Carolina to California and this place was by far the best to date

We were a little hesitant to go inside because the outside appearance needs to be updated a little. But we are so glad we went in! The inside is nice, waitstaff very helpful and attentive, and the food is amazing! I fully recommend this place.

Food was amazing! Service was great! I wish I could have an Ayla at every restaurant we ate at. My niece and nephew are wild and it didn't phase her a bit. Will definately be back my next time in Louisiana.

First time eating here I could already tell that the ingredients were high quality, a person told me that this was the best place to get fried rice while I do not agree with that they still have some really good fried rice.

The service was very friendly and professional, consistent and speedy all-in-one the place was very clean and the food tasted great. The servers were very attentive and never left my glass empty or needs unfulfilled.

Today was the first time I've tried this place & OMG! After the 1st piece of my firecracker roll I was already planning my next trip! I've never been a big sushi eater but it sounded good..after looking at their menu I was excited to try different rolls & they were all perfect! 😁 Sushi Gen you just might become my new addiction!

The atmosphere of this place is peaceful and the food Is exquisite. If you have never tried sushi I highly recommend this place. Their "Sexy Trio" is to die for. I was afraid of sushi before my fiance took me to this place, but the food was mouth watering, and the waiters are always on point. I've been back more times than I can count. Thank you Sushi Gen for the amazing service.

Its was exceptionally great sushi and the service was spot on. WILL BE RETURNING
