Phil's Bar-B-Que

3rd generation family owned restaurant and the atmosphere feels like your best friends basement watching the game and grandpa made ribs just for you and your pals. Brought in a family reunion of 15 people (adults and kids) and had the greatest service we could ask for. Portions are huge, all the meat is tender and juicy, and Peter (whom I believe is Phil's grandson) personally came out and made sure we all liked what we ordered and brought out goodies free of charge. The BBQ sauce is definitely different but good nonetheless. I wish they had more options, though, than original and spicy. We're from out of town but we'll definitely mark this as a place to come back to.

This was my first time trying Phil's, although I've been in the area for more than 5 years. Now I know why they've been here over 50! I ordered the rib dinner with beans and the spaghetti to go. The service was friendly and on time on this Tuesday evening and the price was right. The food was fantastic. I received potato salad instead of beans though, but it was good potato salad and so I'd only knock about a half star off for that. It will be much closer to 5 days than 5 years before my next visit, that's for sure. Loved it.

This place embodies the words "BBQ Joint" Its been there forever. Had a great meal and great convo with the owner. If you are looking for a great sit down experience then obviously you don't know the term "Joint" is. The atmosphere is exactly that and for that reason along with the good food, I will continue to come back. LARGE PORTIONS!

I've been going to this comfy spot since I was kid. Now it is CLOSING December 31, 2018 to become a parting lot. Go while you can

My husband wanted to come here on their last day to celebrate his birthday. He grew up going there as a child and his Father Joseph Rackovan worked there back in the 70s. The food was great! Sad to see this place go!

Phil's is a cozy neighborhood restaurant and a St. Louis tradition. The atmosphere is casual and homey. The guys working there make an effort to get to know the customers. The food is a good value for the price.

The best open pit hickory bbq in St Louis. The sauce is one of a kind, not too sweet not too heat . Omg I love it since I was 8yrs old, I'm 58. Unfortunately they are retiring and closing on December 30 2018. Go 🐖 out at Phil's while you still can!!!

Stopped in for the first time. Very laid back atmosphere. Employeee were kind and attentive. Food arrived very promptly. Ribs and sauce were delicious. As was the potato salad and slaw.

Neat old fashion barbecue, St Louis style. Hard for them to compete with the national chains but they are hanging in there. Love the pork barbeque sandwich with the two sides and the ribs are outstanding!

I don't know what people are speaking of, but as a foodie and someone who grew up in affton until 15 and moved to Las Vegas where anything could be had at any time for a reasonable price, nothing compares to a place that has never tried to put lipstick on a pig! Ambiance is not on the menu, the chow and your neighbors are. My father was a St. Louis county cop and detective based out of the old affton station at a time when a little girl was normally given a tootsie pop by Mr Brinker at the meat market but when he was too busy..I took it any how knowing our relationship and tradition and when my mom asked me if he gave it to me and I answered no she picked up that old black heavy ass phone that could crack a skull and called the sub station and my dad sent a squad car for me and of course the cuffs were too big for a 4 or 5 year old do they duct tape them to me and drive away. They took my statement and stuck me in a holding cell just until my daddy thought I had enough. I never ever took something that did not belong to me and the episode of my debachery was classic and long lived there at Phils. I love this place for what it is and will continue to be. Look out Diners, Drive Ins and Dives cause Phils is knocking !!!😋

The food was really good at a great price. They were pretty busy and training a new employee but the wait wasn't long. Great BBQ sauce as well.

Phil's is an Affton classic, always the same! Enjoyed our meals, just wish the waitress would have heard I wanted my chicken wet...meaning soaked in sauce...not sauce on side.

The BBQ sauce is smokey and has an apple-like finish which is super tasty.

I LOVE Phil's! When I lived in California I dreamed of the times I was able to visit St. Louis so I could order a mouthwatering Phil's BBQ porksteak. Yum!

We went to Phils bbq today for lunch and it was great. The porksteak was tender and the potato salad was spot on. We will definitely be back for more.

Been eating here my whole life it’s family and friends operated and some of the most flavorful bbq in the st.louis county area

The fact that they are so close is awesome. But the quality of their food and their prices are simply amazing. We love Phil's.

Food is very good ,you get a good portion more than you can eat,great service.
