Beautiful old very large cemetery. I love visiting cemeteries for some reason. This has a Confederate burial memorial site. Tremendous old trees. Peaceful place. Too bad some large headstones have been vandalized. Some people need to pray for integrity!!

I don't know a single soul in this cemetery being as I'm not from here but my sister and I can spend hours here. The tombstones tell stories of days gone by and heartaches and loss from centuries ago. Ms tidwell, the weeping angel is a favorite stop as well as a statue of Sue Baby Hudson. Her death was in 1877 but her statue stands as a tribute of love her parents had. The magnolia trees are beautiful and this city cemetery is rich in trees and history for those willing to do the research.

Found my great-great grandfather's headstone. His wife is buried there as well but, she didn't have a headstone. I didn't even know they were there until fairly recently. I wish I could have read it better.
My husband and I left a flag for him.

Really neat, quiet place right next to the football stadium. Great place for a bike ride.

Went see Tales from the Crypt. It is put on buy the Math and science kids. They chose a grave site and research the person. They are at the grave dressed in period clothes. They tell about that persons life. It only takes place once a year during the Columbus Pilgrimage.

Huge cemetery with lots of history. Great examples of Victorian Era monuments, Civil War dead both Union and Confederate, and iron fencing. Many photo opportunities.

I have Ancestors buried there many many years ago.... beautiful old place . I could have stayed there for days and not seen it all.

Lovely old cemetery. I believe a large portion of the soldiers buried here were killed in the battle of Shiloh.
